On July 25, 2022, members of the Danish Royal Family posed for photographs in connection with their traditional summer stay at Graasten Castle. Three sisters, Queen Margerethe, Princess Benedikte and Queen Anne-Marie and their children and their spouses gathered at the castle in Southern Jutland. The gathering was organized by Queen Margerethe, Princess Benedikte and Queen Anne-Marie, who drove together in a golf cart to the parts of the castle garden where the photo-shoot took place.

ReplyDeleteWonderful photos of the sisters and of the extended family. Think Queen Margrethe may just edge Princess Benedikte into 2nd place with this bright dress and the red shoes. Queen Anne Marie’s dress is a little lacking in colour in comparison. Is there anyone who can give a run down if who’s who in the extended family photo? I recognise the Danish Family of course, and two of the Greek Princes but I’m lost beyond that.

The 3 sisters are having a good time with all their nieces and cousins around them. They are all looking down to earth people like any other big family taking the opportunity to see each other during the summer holidays.
ReplyDeleteAll the Royals from the Greek part of the family, have Danish diplomate passports because the Greek government demands that they use their last names which is funny - they don´t have a last name!!
ReplyDeleteBut they are all also Danish Prince and Princesses with link to King Christian 9. of Denmark.
In 2004 the King and Queen were granted permission to live in Greece so in 2013 the family moved back.
Queen Margrethe reminds me of a mother hen. She is so happy to have her nieces and nephews around her and other close members of the extended family, especially her two sisters.
