The Duke of Rothesay, along with other members of The Royal Family, hosted a Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence attended the garden party held at Holyroodhouse. The party is part of The Queen's traditional trip to Scotland for Holyrood Week.
They all look fabulous
ReplyDelete& regal do admire Sophie's outfit Mary
I think the color of the Countess Sophie's dress is very complimentary to her complexion. I like everything about the dress except the part that hangs down from her waist on the right side. Perhaps I would like it better if seen from the back. I like her hat very much and her earrings are nice. I think Princess Anne looks very pretty. Her dress and coat may be vintage but, if so, they still look good. I must say the menfolk look smashing, especially Prince Edward. (Debra)
ReplyDeleteI like everything about the dress and I am pleased to see it again.
DeleteReally like Countess Sophie’s dress as well as the bright colour of Princess Anne’s dress. Her Majesty had already said she would not attend but had the misfortune to have to meet with La Sturgeon, the ever grandstanding Scottish First Minister. She should have delegated that to Prince Charles and gone to the garden party. AnnieM
ReplyDeleteI love all of the hats the ladies are wearing; the royals look nearly as good as the locals, I do like the lady in white in the 5th photo, so nice. Studgen is thinking that she is Mrs Thatcher instead; she is not a wise person.(Tabby)
ReplyDeleteSophie looks really lovely, especially for a summer garden party. They all do; the English know how to do a garden party! Compare with the pics from the Luxembourg one; this is the way to do a summer garden party, with hats included. Really lovely. - Just wonder why Camilla was not there. - Ellia
ReplyDeleteThis garden party was in Edinburgh, so not an English garden party!
DeleteLove both Princess Anne's and Countess Sophie's ensembles today. I only wish Sophie'd dress had that drapey thing in the back removed and had the hemline even with Princess Anne's. All the gentlemen look very dapper--it is quite nice to see Vice Admiral Lawerence joining in today. Must say I miss seeing the Duchess of Cornwall in one of her garden party hats.

The Princess Royal looks lovely, timeless elegance. I do recall this outfit before, regardless I love how she has accessorised this time. The Countess looks divine, in this dress, its very flattering, color and patterning of fabric, enchasing. The cowl neckline I love, something different. Love her hat. The Royal men look very dapper. Especially Prince Edward, he looks splendid, marvellously groomed from head to toe.

ReplyDeleteSophie looks beautiful. That pink is so pretty with her complexion. I also am glad to see Anne in a brighter dress color, she looks good with a pop of color. Great showing by the men as well.

Sophie continue to surprise me pleasantly. Another devine outfit that looks perfect on her. And so happy to see real hat. This one looks wonderful and mathes her outfit so well.

Very british, isn't it. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteImpeccable tout le monde ; la princesse Anne est élégante tout en étant sobre ; j'adore la robe délicieuse de Sophie ainsi que son chapeau ; ses boucles d'oreilles sont t-elles nouvelles ?!
ReplyDeleteThey all look so nice especially Sophie!! Her pink dress really flatters her!! Ah the art of dressing up!! I just miss seeing the queen with her gloves and beautiful jewelry!!
ReplyDeleteCountess Sophie's pale pink dress
ReplyDeleteis beautiful, she looks gorgeous. Indeed, we have seen many royals dressed in pale pink this spring and summer and they all have looked great..... . e.g. Queen Elizabeth and Queen Margrethe. in lovely outfits.

The first time I saw Sophie's dress I liked what I saw. I saw a beautiful neckline a pritty pink color. The rest of the dress we couldn't see. Now that I can see the whole dress I'm not sure anymore. The dress is too long, again. It is a dress with a classic cut. Why destroy it with a part of fabric hanging in the back. If she likes dresses like that she should ask Queen Mathilde or Queen Maxima how these dresses are made. The designers that make such dresses are thinking out of the box. They do not cut the fabric in the usual classic way but are trying to create something with a piece of fabric that comes out of a seam on the right or the left. The result is an uneven hem. This dress is ruined by trying to attach a part of fabric on the back. If I was her I let it take away by a good seamstress.
ReplyDeleteThe hat : on itself a beautiful hat which is also ruined by the little garden which is placed upon it. The champagne color doesn't match the dress either. To stay in the same color range of the dress she could have put on the light wine red hat we saw her wearing the first time. A little wine red clutch in the same color and it would have been perfect. The shoes have the same champagne color like the hat. A pair of light grey court shoes would have been beautiful.
Dommage de ne pas voir la Reine qui a eu certainement d'autres contraintes peut-être soutenue par Camilla ; toutes les deux me manquent afin de pouvoir admirer leur tenue et surtout leur chapeau souvent original !
