I love all of the colorful, graphic textiles! Queen Mathilde looks fabulous at both events. I think this was her best day, fashion-wise. The last photo, of the King and Queen enjoying the view, is wonderful. (Debra)

Yes I agree. These are both excellent dresses. Q. Mathilde really suits a strong, graphic print. (V.M.)

A happy 'yes' to both her outfits. She looks very nice in both of them.

I saw more pictures of that market, where she and the king are comparing different kind of fabrics. I think she bought some fabrics to take with her at home. I like the two blue/white dresses she was wearing yesterday, as well as her clutches and shoes.

  6. These two dresses are wonderful.
The first one is perfect for the African context as it seems to fit right in with the other colourful and rich patterns. I wonder if it was a gift from her hosts or something she acquired while there or from a local manufacturer.
The second dress is absolutely delightful - colour, shape, design. Perfect! Excellent fit as well, and I´m happy to see a knee-length hem just covering the knee but no more.

The first dress is made by Odile Jacobs a Belgian designer who made this dress especially for Queen Mathilde's trip to the DRC. She uses the same original techniques of printing on fabrics like the people of African countries used to do.
The second dress is designed by Esmeralda Amoun who already made other dresses for QM.
I like the last picture where QM and KP are looking together at the Congo river.

I have to be the odd one here. Don't like either over the two dresses 😂🤣

  9. Les couleurs bleu et blanche vont à merveille à Mathilde surtout quand elle les porte sur des robes parfaites pour s'intégrer au milieu africain !

Love both dresses! I really hope they bought some of the beautiful fabrics--it would be such a treat to see Mathilde wearing something made from one of these.
