ReplyDeleteLooks like the ladies went espadrille shopping.
ReplyDeleteActually, Dr. Biden and grandaughters were shopping espadrilles in Madrid at Castañer.
DeleteThat was my first thought seeing these pics as well LOL. Letizia looks beautiful, as well as several of the ladies do! Letizia is quite the style queen, after all.
DeleteChel
Also looks they forgot to mention the dressing code in the invitation for the occasion. A big no-no in international representation which can cause discomforts for some guests.
DeleteQ. Letitia looks relaxed yet polished in her summer dress and espadrilles. It’s interesting that quite a few of her guests are wearing similar shoes. Three of my favourite looks here are Dr. Biden in the floral dress, the tall, slender woman in the pale pink jumpsuit, and the lady wearing the two-toned red dress. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteThe tall woman in the pink jumpsuit is the Spanish prime minister's wife, who is always beautifully dressed, and the other lady is the Belgian prime minister's wife.
DeleteLetizia was really pretty. Nice dress and shoes. I also liked the Lady in monochromatic pink pants and blouse.
ReplyDeleteAnd I loved that most of the ladies were wearing espadrilles like the Queen. They are slowly becoming a symbol of Spain, although they are very popular in my country as well.
That lady is the wife of the Prime Minister of Spain.
Delete@ Nora. They were already a symbol of Spain when we were on vacation in Spain when my son was a little boy and he is 52 now. They could(can) also been bought in Italy and at the Cote-d'Azur in France. But nowadays they can be found in almost every country of the western world.
DeleteIn addition to being beautiful and stylish, Queen Letizia seems to be a very friendly person. Her warm welcome to all the wives (and husband) seems genuine. I love her dress and her espadrilles. (Debra)
ReplyDeleteQL's dress looks very summery. I like the color. There are also some other outfits that are not bad. The ladies have been briefed what shoes to wear. Those who are not wearing espadrilles are wearing comfortable shoes like sandals or block heels.
ReplyDeleteLetizia looked fantastic. No one could get close to Letizias dress. IMHO she was the best dressed.
ReplyDeleteAgree , beautiful dress .Letizia looks nice in that colors.

Just wearing a wonderfull dress with espadrilles and she looks great!

The Queen looks elegant and casual, I absolutely love her dress, and of course the espadrilles are fantastic, I read somewhere that the prime minister’s wife gifted Jill Biden the pair she was wearing. Ms Biden looked very summery and as usual appropriate for her age and status. The prime minister’s wife ( Begoña) also look sophisticated and so stylish. I am so glad they all had a chance to visit the magnificent Granja.

Love Letizia"s dress its very summary & elegant, but do not like her shoes. Personally, I am not a fan of that style. Mary
ReplyDeleteIt is not "a Style", espadrilles are how our ancerstors dressed, handmade in Spain, It is "our Style".
DeleteQueen Letizia’s dress is pleasant and appropriate. Apart from Jill Biden in the floral dress, the Spanish PM’s wife in the lovely pink outfit, the lady in the fitted turquoise dress and the lady wearing the black and white dress ( looks not too unlike Jill Biden!), the rest are either pale and insipid or shapeless and tent like. AnnieM
ReplyDeleteLove how many of the ladies chose to wear espadrilles! Wonderful nod to Spain. Queen Letizia looks fabulous in her summery Laura Bernal dress. Love Dr. Biden's dress, the pretty pale pink jumpsuit worn by the Spainsh PM's wife, and several of the outfits of the other ladies. Hopefully everyone was dressed comfortable enough to enjoy palace and garden touring--La Granja is a marvelous place to visit and wander.

The Queen looks lovely in this dress. Its summary and pretty. Great fit, love the length. Her warmth and naturalness shines through loud and clear. She seems at ease and doing a wonderful job, putting such a large group at ease.
ReplyDeleteLetizia looks wonderfully summery, yet, elegant and professional. Love this dress on her. Her shorter hair now have much more bounch.
ReplyDeleteIn case you want to see them in motion, then here are short videos (hope it's allowed to post links?):

It strikes me how a warm, sweet hostess she is. Welcoming every guest in a personal ( Spanish?) way haha. Love it dressing in a handsome not too dominating dress. But yes enough to dress to impress. The balls-print is fun.

You must be her BFF :)) -Anna-
Nowhere does Anna say she was surprised just that she noticed her warmth. Angie why do you have always assume everything is a criticism (and even if it is so what?). Love the little passive aggressive (and frankly infantile) comment about another royal.
DeleteInteresting that when you are asked why you have to assume everything about Letizia is a criticism you never answer. Also childish - even though you put your name. As are silly comments like "anónima abogada".
DeleteQueen Letizia is best dressed! Calm, cool and elegant!! She beats them all.
ReplyDeleteIs it a competition? Your comment is like "my daddy is stronger than your daddy", very childish.
DeleteStrange comment, Anon 8 27. It’s a clear statement of fact on a blog where we compare outfits worn by women in the public eye. I think, from my limited Spanish, that is also what Angie has said to you.
DeleteOnce again the Queen is dressed very appropriately and looks fabulous at that.
