At the Danish Student House in Paris, Princess Marie opened a new kitchen and a dining hall that were designed by Danish architect Henning Larsen. Minister of Education and Research Jesper Petersen and Denmark's Ambassador to France Michael Starbæk Christensen attended the opening event. The Princess gave a speech during the opening.
The Danish Student House in Paris has been a safe base for Danish students and researchers in Paris since 1932. Princess Marie is Patron of the Danish Student House located in the University City, Cité Internationale Universitaire in Paris since 2013.
I almost feel sad for Marie. There is just little she can do in terms of representing Denmark in Paris. Things like this (opening a new kitchen for students) seem so irrelevant for international relations, and having a foreign royal cut a ribbon in this context is almost comical.
ReplyDeleteHer situation is similar to Madeleine in Florida who once in while attends some funny event that is remotely connected to Sweden, in order to "represent" her country. Events like that would never get royal attention if it wasn´t for the fact that some royal happened to live there already needing some work to remain an official representative.
Marie looks lovely in her dress. I would have preferred a lower neckline, but it´s a lovely dress all the same.
Well I suppose that’s the life of the royals isn’t it? Sometimes you get a rather grand assignment, but then it’s back to cutting ribbons and revealing commemorative plaques. There must be a great deal of quite boring work to do. (V.M.)
DeleteMadeleine, from a pre-school age, has not liked being a princess; she chose to move & have a "normal" life. It's accepted that Joachim & Marie did not choose to move to France; Marie has said she loves Denmark & would prefer to be there - so who knows what went on with that. Marie does what she can under the current circumstances. I think Marie looks very nice on this occasion, she looks best in dark colors. *Regina
DeletePrincess Marie looks lovely. Her hair is gorgeous; it is long, sleek and shiny. Her dress, though white on black, is very feminine. Very pretty. (Debra)
ReplyDeleteThis event is like somthing you would come across on a comedy, television show. What a waste of Princess Marie's talent/s.. I'm sure the palace could find something a little more serious for her to do. She has several patronages but even so, I think her talents are not being fully exploited.
ReplyDeleteOpps ................. fashion ........... Princess Marie seems to like dark colours. The dress suits her well but maybe it would fit in better with the season if it had short or three quarter length sleeves.. .
Princess Marie is the patron of the Danish Student House in Paris, one that she has taken over from HM Queen Margrethe . Her daily job is at the embassy and the development of cultural cooperation does not mean, that she has to appear in the media every time. She has more assignments in Paris than she got in DK. HRH CP Mary has transformed the Danish royal house of the future, only! 'space' to her as the future HM
Deletethe Queen!
I miss my beloved old royal house ❤️❤️❤️😍 as it wasbefore the CP Mary's dominns, it has become so un-Danish, her name must also be pronounced in English 😇....... just saying.// Mille
Allule très féminine dans cette robe imprimée à la longueur idéale mais dans une couleur de fond plus vive et son décolleté légèrement plus échancré en V, cela aurait été vraiment mieux !
ReplyDeletePrincess Marie looks lovely in her floral frock. Nice to see her out and about.

Marie's dress is too dark and the design is old fashion. Of course for the opening of a new kitchen for students in the Denmark house in Paris it is good enough. I wonder why such a "subject" gets attention on this blog. (Don't misunderstand me I like princess Marie a lot, it is not her fault) The activities of other queens and princesses who are doing much more important work are regularly not even mentioned here.
ReplyDeletePss Marie looks lovely in this pretty feminine dress, it suits her beautifully.
ReplyDeleteShe's so pretty and she's wearing a lovely dress.
