New photos of Princess Ingrid Alexandra taken on her 18th birthday in the Upper Vestibule at the Royal Palace have been released. The photos show Princess Ingrid Alexandra wearing a diamond and pearl tiara that has been passed down from Princess Ingeborg of Sweden, who was the grandmother of King Harald and the great-great-grandmother of the Princess.
The Princess also wore the Grand Cross of the Order of St Olav and King Harald V’s House order (portrait brooch), which were conferred on her by the King on her 18th birthday on January 21, 2022. This became the first time the Princess wore these decorations.
In addition, the Princess wore miniatures of the Order of St Olav, the Royal House of Norway Centenary Medal and King Harald V’s Jubilee Medal for his reign between 1991 and 2016. This evening, Princess Ingrid Alexandra will wear her great-great-grandmother’s tiara at the gala dinner to be held at the Royal Palace.
King Olav, Princess Ingeborg of Sweden, Princess Astrid and Crown Prince Harald on their way to a gala dinner in honour of the Crown Prince’s 21st birthday and coming of age in 1958. This was the last time Princess Ingeborg wore the tiara.
Princess Ingeborg, the great-great-grandmother of Princess Ingrid Alexandra, often let her three daughters borrow her jewellery. In photographs from Crown Prince Olav and Crown Princess Märtha’s extensive tour in 1939, Crown Princess Märtha can be seen wearing her mother’s tiara at a gala dinner at the Waldorf Astoria in New York.
Ingrid is wearing the same dress MM wore to her first gala dinner in may 2001 when QE and the Duke of Edinburgh was on state visit. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/fc/6a/2d/fc6a2da32c8d7a7a8afa5b9c4e3b2538.jpg

DeleteWhat a lovely idea along with the even older tiara. She’s a beautiful young lady. Lovely photos. AnnieM
DeleteThanks for sharing, it’s a lovely dress. Great navy blue which makes the red in her orders and ribbons pop. She looks lovely.

Stunning photos of young princess. I like that she looks her age (and do not try to appear older with the help of heavy makeup). I love her simple blue dress that lets red orders stand out. Lovely tiara. She looks so pretty, elegant and regal.

Magnifiques photos où je peux admirer Ingrid Alexandra ; superbe diadème !
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that she is wearing her mother's gown, thanks for the link anon 14:10. These young royals (remember Isabella of Denemark!) are very smart and forward-looking while using clothes they can find at home. Shopping in your family's walking closet or here rather in the rooms :)
ReplyDeleteShe looks so regal and calm and beautiful, just perfect. (Just me)
Wow. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteShe is such a natural beauty! Nice gown towards the red order and medals, A good choise for the official photos, but I hope that she will use the white gown at the galla dinner. She is lovely with the old tiara!
ReplyDeletePrincess Ingrid Alexandra looks stunning! The tiara looks so becoming on her and what an incredible family history it has. Wearing her mother’s simple but beautiful navy blue dress is a very nice touch. Young and Regal, definately 10 points!

@George Agree but I'd give 10 points plus. + + + + + +
DeleteStunning photos! The princess looks beautiful in the simple navy gown--love she is avoiding anything fussy because this dress is the perfect background for her orders and allows the tiara to be the focus.

What a beautiful young woman. The resemblance to her Grandmother, Queen Sonja, as a young woman, is striking. Tiara is perfect for IA and is allowed to star because she did not overdo her ensemble with other jewelry.
ReplyDeleteNew photos from tonight. The girls outfit and tiaraz revealed. All the NRF in reuse. QS in Erik Mortensen. MM in Pucci and I grid in her mothers Alberta Ferretti. https://akamai.vgc.no/v2/images/2329d102-771f-492a-8715-8b228beca57c?fit=crop&format=auto&h=733&w=1100&s=10f2317881bd3543aa0b036c130a261b3c7c8822

ReplyDeleteStunning picture, absolutely lovely young woman. Mette-Marit, Hakoon and their families did an amazing job as parents/grandparents and so on.
ReplyDeleteDa wäschst eine schöne nordische Königin heran :)
ReplyDeleteNo matter what this lovely young lady wears in the future, the most beautiful thing she'll wear, is her smile ! How lovely and memorable for her that she gets to share this special time with future queens of a similar age !
ReplyDeletePrincess Ingrid Alexandra is a beauty. The simplicity of her gown, hair-do and make-up accentuates her natural beauty.
ReplyDeleteJust stunning.
ReplyDeleteStunning very pretty a future queen in the making. Mary
