On June 17, 2022, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the fourth day of Royal Ascot 2022 held at Ascot Racecourse in Ascot. The royal couple's attendance on the penultimate day of Royal Ascot come as a surprise since the royal family usually make appearances in the first three days of the annual horse-racing event. The Duchess wore an asymmetric polka-dot silk crepe dress by Alessandra Rich.

Beautiful, elegant, classy and radiant.
ReplyDeleteDoC at her best.
Well done.
Her earrings are gorgeous and the hat is fine but I do not like the dress. Too many polka dots are hurting my eyes.
ReplyDeleteAbsolute perfection!!! Catherine is stunning in an Ascot dream of a dress and hat. I love this look so much I am not even going to complain about the asymmetrical hemline as I feel that Catherine is carrying it off beautifully.

Kate’s ensemble instantly reminded me of Julia Roberts in the movie “Pretty Woman”. It is a pretty summer look and she carries it off well. Her earrings are absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI dislike this look as being way to campy. Looks like it stepped right out of My Fair Lady. Kate still looks beautiful though. Michelle
ReplyDeleteI, too, immediately thought ‘looks like she’s in My Fair Lady’. However, I love the outfit and think the Duchess looks spectacular. AnnieM
DeletePretty Woman!
ReplyDeleteI prefer Julia Roberts. She is the one and only pretty woman.
DeletePerfection! Dot's are always in fashion. Saw the images of Diana in sort of same dress on Ascot, she could have wear it today! Kate and Wills are growing so much in their role of future modern royals, wish them all the luck, they deserve it!
ReplyDeleteI love D.K. beautiful outfit!! Love, love, love the straw hat!! So cute and saucy!!
ReplyDeleteI don't like the uneven hemline and the high neck of this dress. For the rest it is not bad but basically it is once again the same style as always. The hat is nice and much better than the huge flower hats. I do not say this often but even the earrings are not my taste at all. It looks like the pearls belong to another pair of earrings and has been added to a new pair.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of assymetrical hemlines, but this is balanced by the jabot-like treatment at the shoulder. I love the crispness of the white with black polka dots, and the black (or is it dark brown?) hat with white flowers is very nice. Catherine's earrings are substantial and beautiful. One has to wonder what she said to get the rapt attention of William and the other lady in the last photo. William looked quite dapper. (Debra)
ReplyDeleteAnother site had a picture with the sun shining and the angle she was standing it is a chocolate brown polka dotted dress. I wondered at first why she had brown shoes on with it, now I know why. Her hat is that dark chocolate brown also.
DeleteBelle robe à pois mais je n'aime pas du tout l'ornement de fleurs blanches sur son chapeau de paille mais j'adore ses superbes boucles d'oreilles de diamants/perles !
ReplyDeleteI find her exquisite from head to toe, she would look even better if one could cut a couple of centimeters from the hem, making it straight and slightly shorter ( just a tiny bit)
ReplyDeleteDespite the immediate 'My Fair Lady' connotation, I love this look on Catherine. Everything from hat to hem is perfect. To be honest, I find the dress style a little dated (especially with the high collar and the pleated piece hanging there) but Catherine wears the dress so well that you don't think of that first. Well done.

That looks adorable. Nevertheless, it is a pity that the stylist falls back on Lady Diana's style and does not develop her own Kate style. Rose
ReplyDeletePolka dots and the sleeves don't belong to Diana - S.
DeleteWhat a stunner, such great look for the Dss of Cambridge, chic and elegant.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful she looks !

I love this polka dot dress, it has some very interesting features which are very becoming. I love the design and length, this suits Catherine beautifully. The hat is gorgeous. Love her choice of accessories, blending in well with the color. The diamond and pearl earrings are stunning. She looks stylish, chic and elegant.
ReplyDeletePure elegance.
ReplyDeleteI want this dress :) Perfection!
ReplyDeleteAh look Mary Poppins;the dress is okay;the hat is fun.(Tara0
ReplyDeleteKate's hat is absolute perfection. Black and white is always a a winning combination, especially smart for a day at the races BUT polka dots NOOOOO!.
ReplyDeleteSome fashion trends simply should not be revisited EVER in my opinion and polka dots is one of them. I would also add mullets, acid wash denim, and parachute material track suits to that list too.
Diana's magnificent earrings are a big NO as well. As gorgeous as they are, smaller pearl drops previously owned by Diana or Her Majesty's Diamond earrings (worn at Prince Philip's Funeral would in my opinion have been more becoming for an daytime event - that being said, I have never been to Ascot nor am I every likely to attend.
