On June 15, 2022, The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, Princess Anne, Princess Beatrice, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Lady Sarah Chatto and Flora Vesterberg (granddaughter of Princess Alexandra) attended the second day of Royal Ascot 2022 held at Ascot Racecourse in Ascot.
Wow, is this even the same Sophie? This lady continues to hit it out of the park. Simply beautiful! *Regina
ReplyDeleteshe did better yesterday, not impressive today
DeleteBeatrice is dressed like the kids' nanny. am sure the Cambridge's nanny wears the same hat in brown at special occasions.
miss W.
I have to disagree. Sophie's choice for Day 2 was a disappointment after Day 1. I think the frills and the hat were just too much and made her look frumpy from a distance. Camilla should learn that, after a certain age, V-neck lines only highlight the wrinkles. Otherwise, the dress was nice - though I don't think the white colour/trend is the best for her. Beatrice looked good though earrings would have improved her look and less of the 'panda' eye makeup. Ann and Sarah Chatto were all class. Great fabrics, colours, seams and hats.
DeleteWhy does elegance have to involve effort?
DeleteAll very stylish! Beatrice, very elegant, great shoes, bag, hat. Simple but stunning. DoCo, very elegant look!!! And I'm getting used to Sophie's lovely outfits. Anne's hat: stunning! It's a pleasure for fashion to follow this event!
ReplyDeleteMy preferences for Day 2:
ReplyDelete1. Princess Beatrice - love her dress, hat and shoes. If only she had added earrings (pearl drops would have been nice), and/or a brooch! I love how she looks at Edo in the carriage.
2. Duchess Camilla - her dress is gorgeous. I love the dropped waist and the pleats that provide a bit of flair; and the trim on the shoulders and sleeves is very nice. But, the icing on the cake are her earrings!
3. Princess Alexandra's granddaughter - she seems to have inherited her grandmother's fashion sense. Her dress, with the lace overlay, is very feminine. Her netted hat is nice, and her pearl earrings are the perfect touch.
4. Countess Sophie - Her dress is a bit too frilly but the color is pretty. Although I've grown tired of hats propped up by a dozen flowers, this one shades her well and the photo of her in the carriage is gorgeous; plus you get a better look of her aquamarine earrings and brooch.
I love Royal Ascot! (Debra)
I agree generally with you Debra. But I have some additional comments. There are big differences since yesterday.
DeletePrincess Beatrice : so much better in this white and short dress. I just don't like the neckline. Too high closed, a little lower and it was perfect. This type of hat is so much better for her. Love her shoes and little handbag.
Duchess Camilla : so much better than yesterday. The white dress suits her very well. This dress has a good cut for her. Hat is lovely too.
Princess Alexandra's granddaughter, Flora Vesterberg : She is the winner today. Her dress is gorgeous. So feminine with the white little handbag, the white shoes and the lovely hat.
Countess Sophie : yesterday so beautiful in that pink dress and wine red hat and today it is the opposite. I don't like that dress at all. The bodice of the dress reminds me of the aprons my mother made for me when I was a little girl. The dress is too long. This type of hat I cannot see it anymore. Shoes and handbag have the right color. Her jewelry looks beautiful especially the earrings.
Everyone looks very elegant . Princess Beatrice great dress with hat , Princess Anne in nice color coordinated with her hat, Camilla looks beautiful in white. Sophie's dress maybe would have been better without frills on top but with beautiful hat to match she looks good.

Credo che il matrimonio e la maternità abbiano fatto bene a Beatrice, ultimamente è ben vestita ed ha una bella silhouette.

Edoardo però è inguardabile con quel cilindro...
DeleteI seem to be in disagreement with most. Generally I don't care for Camilla's fashion choices, but today she looks spectacular. Beatrice looks young, trendy and very chic. I dislike Sophie's dress immensely, too much frill, the top looks like a pinafore out of place with such delicate lace, the belt doesn't help and the hat albeit gorgeous is just too much altogether. Anne looks as usual, severe and old fashioned.
ReplyDeleteI think I agree on all points.
DeleteAnother fabulous day for the Royal ladies at Ascot! My favorite today is Princess Beatrice--so neat, so fresh, so elegant. And, her boater-style hat is perfect. Camilla looks amazing again--the simplicity of her dress is beautiful and the decorative "X" stitching is ideal for a bit umph. I like Sophie's blue ensemble except for the extended ruffle--wish it had stopped at the shoulder. Princess Anne looks amazing in her silvery gray with the navy accessories--and her hat has the perfect amount of froufrou since her dress is so simple. Lady Sarah Chatto is lovely as always--and her pearls are gorgeous and the perfect accessory. Princess Alexandra and Countess Mountbatten are not shown here but they too were so elegant--they rode in the same carriage as Beatrice and Edo. Princess Alexandra's granddaughter, Flora, looks lovely too--perhaps she has inherited her grandmother and great-grandmother's fashion flair.

What great look on Camilla and her go to pearls always a good look. Beatrice really found her fashion footing, simple but very nice dress, she looks good in white. I think Lady Chatto is the only one who makes a skirt and little cardigan look classy. Sophies lace dress looks nice, but the ruffles somehow make it look childish.
ReplyDeleteall the ladies look nice :-)
ReplyDeleteI like Sophie Wessex style a lot, I love the colour, I love the hat, I love the ruffles. All together it's maybe a little bit to casual, but just a little bit, still my favourite and a wonderful outfit.
Someone wrote, Beatrice looks like a nanny - I can't say I don't think so.
It really has a bit of a uniform and reminds me a bit on Mary Poppins.
But also a nice outfit, but wouldn't have combined this dress and hat.
Didn't we see Zara on the second day?
Who is this with Princess Anne? Is ist Parker-Bowles, Camillas ex-husband? I know they are friends?
The royal ladies look lovely The b/white outfit the lady standing behind Pss Beatrice, in photo 7, I love her outfit, she looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteAll the ladies look amazing.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to give a prize for biggest improvement it would be to Beatrice - she looks fantastic despite the slight Sixth-former vibe. Nice clean lines in white and cream shows off her figure and features. I also like Camilla's look very much, and also Lady Sarah Chatto's. Love it when people wear 'real' hats as all these three (and Anne) have. Sophie's blue eyelet dress is also beautiful except for the V-shaped ruffle which I'd have done without. She still looks great and her towering hat being the same colour make a big positive difference than if it had been in contrasting colours. Flora Vesterberg looks perfectly summery and best of all, her dress fits her to a 'T'.

And again we see so many beautiful pictures! I admit I didn't know Flora Vesterberg. What a lovely lady she is, a classic english rose!
ReplyDelete1) I like Flora's outfit the best. The dress looks 50s inspired, which suits her figure so wonderfully. The whole pastel outfit is just lovely, very feminine and so elegant: dress, shoes, hat, purse - perfection!! She is a classic beauty, just like her grandmother Princess Alexandra, whom she resembles quite a bit :)
ReplyDelete2) Princess Beatrice's style has been absolutely amazing lately!! Lovely dress that looks fabulous on her, very cute shoes and handbag! Others may not like the boater hat, but I think it goes great with this outfit and her lovely ponytail :)
Her husband - always too handsome!!
3) Camilla looks perfect. One of her best outfits!! White suits her and the cut of the dress is just perfect for her, great hat, plus pearls = perfection.
