On June 16, 2022, Princess Anne, The Countess of Wessex, Zara Tindall, Mike Tindall and Lady Sarah Chatto attended the third day of Royal Ascot 2022 held at Ascot Racecourse in Ascot, west of London. The third day of Royal Ascot is known as Ladies Day. The Countess of Wessex wore a watercolour floral gown by Suzannah.
Suzannah Thalia Watercolour Floral Gown
Lovely event with colourful dresses. However I find both Zara’s and Sophie’s dresses way too wide.

Love all the looks of the ladies! They all look very royal! Sophie, outstanding! Zara, very modern and elegant with a twist! Anne, beautifull with sophistication!
ReplyDeleteCan't agree with you about Princess Anne. I wish she could get a stylist and get a fresh makeover to be in line with time. But obviously she doesn't care.
DeleteEven the queen normally looks fresher in skin and hair and outfit...
Lady Chatto is the winner here. She makes a cardigan and big hat elegant. I think no one can carry it off like her. Css Wessex dress maybe nice to someone, I think to big of a landscape, she is waring. Pss Annes dress is not the best today. She can do much better. Zara Tindalls dress is nice, but the hat is soso.
ReplyDeleteLady Chatto has worn the same hat all week!

Isn't she has a little jacket instead of a cardigan ? Each time I see a picture of her she is wearing one.
DeleteBut as the saying goes, "if the hat fits, wear it".
DeleteSophie’s dress is 5800 euro: outrageous !!
ReplyDeleteYes, Suzannah Creations only do expensive dresses. Everything is around €5.OOO or more. Maybe the dress was on loan as free publicity for Suzannah Creations. It is a practice found in the fashion world.
DeleteI have just tracked down the designer of Zarah Tindall's dress.
DeleteAgain, another london designer known as Laura Green. I have read a comment that Zarah's dress sells at around €420. A lot cheaper than Sophie's dress. More information if you're interested on ........

The ladies look lovely, love Zara’s touches of pink. Sophie looks great- IMHO one of her best overall looks ever.

Sophie : I liked the dress until I saw the skirt. The bodice, the colors OK. The skirt of the dress with the uneven hemline and too long ruined the rest of a beautiful dress. The same shoes again which I didn't like the other day and certainly not with this dress. The white and rose head don't match the dress.
ReplyDeleteZara : The hat (without the rose) and the sunglasses O.K. The bodice (without the pink buttons) of the dress O.K. The skirt of the dress looks like a tent. The shoes must be replaced by another color or match a hat like Sophie's. I hate the idea to sew buttons in a contrasting color on every dress or skirt.
Lady Chatto looks so elegant in her white hat and outfit. I am not British and I find most of the Ascot outfits OTT. I realise that this dress code might be expected but I rarely like what I see. Strange hats, dresses that are too voluminous for their short and curvy bearers. Countess of Wessex´s hat looks nice but the dress is too much.
ReplyDeleteLadyofthemanor
They look OTT to me too. I guess that's the point but I think this look is very difficult to pull of successfully.
DeleteShe looks amazing! Her wedding dress is one of my all time favorites. If you haven't seen it highly recommend checking it out.
DeleteCurvy bearers?
DeleteAre you sure you are looking at the photos and not at someone else?
Dress code for a day at the races (Anglo-saxon) is almost at the same level as the dress code for a fancy dress party.
DeleteOTT is normal and almost expected.
As always Sarah Chatto look the epitome of elegance and chic. She invariably wears the same type of outfit and yet always looks fantastic in them. Todays outstanding look for me rests with Zara Tindall. What a fabulous hat and dress - really stunning
ReplyDeleteInteresting day--Lady's Day at Royal Ascot usually sees more royals out but today was an exception. Sophie Wessex was too overblown for me--that print is overwhelming her and, sadly, the dress is wearing her. Love the style of Princess Anne's dress but the color is washing her out. Zara Tindall--radiant here in a lovely look overall. I like the pink buttons and her shoes are divine. I am kind of iffy on the collar--and given the heat today, I have no idea how she kept it buttoned up. Her hat is Ascot awesome though. Finally, the always elegant and simply sophisticated Lady Sarah Chatto. Her cream ensemble is perfect in every way. While her hat is as simple as her outfit, it is perfect too. My Day 3 winner is Lady Sarah because her simplicity helps her rise about the fluff and froufrou to a level of chic often missing in the Ascot fashion stakes.

I love Zara's dress and hat!! So cute!! Sophie is so pretty in the floral dress! Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteLady Sarah looks nice but I don't really understand the cardigan given the warmer weather we are having at the moment.
ReplyDeleteThere is no such person as Lady Chatto - she is Lady Sarah or Lady Sarah Chatto.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites on Ladies' Day at Ascot:
ReplyDeleteLady Sarah Chatto's all white (or cream) outfit is brilliant. Today's pleated skirt is the best she's worn. I would call them box pleats (correct me if that's not the right term). Her cardigan and blouse are classic, and her hat is awesome. Her pearls and bracelets are modest but beautiful. But, most important, to me, is her demeanor today. Yesterday her countenance was very solemn; today it was joyful making her even more attractive. I've always been surprised by her modest make-up yet she is always beautiful.
The Princess Royal looks very good today. Her necklace with the clasp (some say it is a brooch attached to the actual clasp) , and her Grima earrings, are very pretty, and I like the classic lines of her dress. Her hat is one of the better ones today.

All of the dresses and hats look so pretty and summery. Lady Sarah Chatto looks good, it is nice to see her; all of these lady's are such a good support to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.(Tara)
ReplyDeleteLoving everyone's look here, except for Sarah Chatto, she looks like a librarian at a country church wedding. What's with the cardigans that she wears to any and all events? Ascot is a time to dress up, and I applaud the other ladies for their style and joie de vivre! Only possible improvement would be for Zara to wear pink(-ish) lipstick, and for Sarah to hire a stylist to take her look 180 degrees from where it seems to be stuck for 20+ years. Although Princess Anne is known for not being a slave to fashion, even she is showing some flair at Ascot, bravo Anne, boo (boring) Sarah. S.M.
ReplyDeleteWould love to know the designer of the dress worn my Zarah Tindall. Is it from Suzannah? The skirt suggests it could be one of her creations.
ReplyDeleteO.K, O.K. I've just tracked it down. Zarah's dress is from the fashion house of "Laura Green", London. She is a Londoner by birth but trained and had experience overseas. More info on link below.
DeleteThe London/British fashion houses are getting a good airing at Ascot this year.

For me the Princess Royal is by far the best dressed royal this day at Ascot. Beautiful champaign colour, model of the dress is playful and accentuates her amazing figure . Both Zara and CoW dresses way too long and wide
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I like here is Sophie’s hat, which I think is really gorgeous; it should have been the crowning focus of a softer-hued outfit, but unfortunately the dress’s large, screamingly bright multicolored print (which did not even color-coordinate well with the hat) overwhelmed everything. Zara always wears saucy hats with great style, and this one would have been wonderful if not for the pink flowers sticking up and making it just look silly. If the jaunty hat itself had been hot pink to match the buttons and shoes, the overall effect would have been less “out there” (I realize that “out there” was the look she was going for) and more successful. Anne has been coming up with some lovely outfits lately, but I have to agree with the comment who that this color washes her out. Now, oh dear, praise for Lady Chatto’s ensemble seem nearly universal, but I must agree with the one or two who find it dowdy-looking. Her quirky fondness for cardigans buttoned at the neck has certainly become very pronounced and it’s an odd look for Ascot on a hot day. (I think we all remember her outstandingly lovely bridal look which has made an indelible impression.) I guess for me everybody missed the mark a bit, but for effort was clearly made by Sophie and Zara to enter into the light-hearted spirit of Ascot.
ReplyDeleteDress code for an Anglo-saxon day at the races is 'up-market, fancy dress'. OTT brings fun to the day.
DeleteLady Sarah never fails to impress, quietly elegant, love her choice of ensemble. Her jewel choices are always gorgeous. Sophie and Zara, colorful and full of zest, just what we need. Love both of them. Elegant and happy, splendid.
