Countess of Wessex looking fabulous, love everything about her elegant look even the hat (sometimes Sophie can over-do the extent of the perpendicular percher, but this beauty looks appropriately proportioned). Duchess of Cambridge looks beautiful as well in this wonderful shade of blue and lovely hat. I've been waiting to see this gorgeous tanzanite earrings-and-pendant-set again, such a happy surprise to see her wear it today where the pieces can be seen in their full glory! She is looking a bit gaunt/too thin maybe due to the dress neckline(?), and I'm not sure about the orangey shade of lipstick, but I love the bling on her shoes. S.M.

  3. Catherine and Sophie - what a very charming duo!

  4. I think Sophie looks the better of the two today. The skirt of her dress looks a bit stiff but it is a good length and pretty color for her. Kate's collar is too wide and too low in my opinion.

usually conservative wear for traditional events. too much bear chest for Duchess Kate than usual. she has these dresses and hats in all colours. i suppose she is at that time of life were she sticks to the style that makes her happy

    jill.

Sophie got ripped off. Dress looks cheap and ill-fitting.

    D. Catherine’s outfit is absolutely wonderful! What a gorgeous colour for her. I love everything - the hat, shoes, bag, and of course the sapphire and diamond jewelry. C. Sophie’s look isn’t quite as successful, due entirely to the fit of the dress which seems a bit too tight across the bust. (V.M.)

Is Kate’s dress appropriate for such a very formal event? It’s very revealing and it’s not even doing her any favours. What was she thinking? Garter is the time to show off your decoltée? For someone so astute (mostly, anyway) when it comes to royal etiquette, this is most certainly surprising.

Having said that, this colour is beautiful. Not sure if yet another blue coat dress, so similar (except the weird low cut) is what she should have worn at a time when the average Brit is struggling with inflation, tax increases and such. Sometimes they do indeed seem a little tone deaf. Like with their Caribbean tour earlier.

Don't understand what the struggle with inflation in Britain has to do with the blue dress of the Duchess of Cambridge ??

      @ Deadeggs
I think Marine means that the British taxpayers are forced to shell out money for the Duchess's outfits.
I bet she is the same blogger who insisted on the same point when talking about CP Mary and the Danish taxpayers.
In both cases I am pretty sure that Marine does not know anything about the two countries , Britain and Denmark, except for some pieces of news she picks up from papers.

Catherine and Sophie both look fabulous today! Love both of their dresses and hats. Catherine's shoes are the best--want to see more of them. Camilla's looks marvelous in her Garter robes and the hat is perfect for her!

Camilla's hat looks like someone has playing football with it before she put it on. She should ask advice to Princess Ann how these hats are supposed to be worn by ladies.

All the ladies looks lovely. I particularly like Sophie's dress and accessories, especially the brooch. Catherine looks wonderful, as always, but I wish she would try a few different styles of day dress. Her earrings, necklace and, of course, her engagement ring, are fabulous. Camilla looks ecstatic in her Order robe and regalia. Everyone seems jubilant. What a nice day for them. (Debra)

Camillas hair looks terrible;it needs cutting and better styling on the ends.I don't like kate's dress or colour of; and the hat needed to be a different colour as do the shoes and bag;makes an outfit more stylish.(Tabby)

I do not understand why Camilla was chosen for this position, other than to give her more credibility as the wife of PC. Both Catherine and Sophie have been married longer than Camilla, or maybe I'm wrong on the dates. However, I still don't quite get why her? What has she contributed to the country that is so special? Don't go bashing me for this remark, it has been on my mind ever since they announced it. I still don't understand it, unless its a maneuver to make her look more suitable to be a Queen consort, or whatever title they would give her if Charles would become King.

Prince Philip was admitted to the Order of the Garter upon marriage to the then Princess Elizabeth, so it has nothing to do with how long somebody has been married. Though Charles and Camilla have been married for longer than William & Catherine, since 2005.
It's, among other things, a question of seniority, I don't think Sophie will ever get it, though I would certainly consider her very deserving. Catherine will get it either as Princess of Wales or as Queen.
First of all, it's a sign of seniority. With the Queen unable to attend many important events that she used to be at, Charles & Camilla are standing in for her and Camilla will be the most senior royal lady on these occasions. Secondly, I think it is a sign that the Queen does indeed (as she has already said) wish for Camilla to become Queen Consort and thinks her deserving of the position. For supporting her husband, no doubt, which still remains a consort's most important job. But probably also because she has always done her job dutifully and hasn't caused any embarrassment or scandal ever since she married Charles.
Why their past affair is considered an embarrassment for Camilla and not for Charles, I don't understand.

    2. Sophie has been married to the Earl of Wessex since 1999, Camilla to the Prince of Wales since 2005 and Catherine to the Duke of Cambridge since 2011.The information given was that it was the Queen's recognition of the service she has provided in supporting Prince Charles in his role as heir to the crown. The Queen has also stated at some point recently that she hopes that Camilla will be given the title of Queen Consort when Charles becomes King.

We saw Kate more than once with this coat dress. When I read the comments, although it are always the same names that keep coming back, it is like Kate worn this for the first time. Sophie is the best dressed here. But the neckline of the dress is to high. With Kate's dress it is just the opposite her neckline is a bit too low. Lucky Sophie's dress is not too long : which is a big improvement.

It is actually a new coat dress, it just happens to look like 2-3 other blue coat dresses that she owns. Neckline like a blue coat dress she wore in Scotland last year, waist area like the powder blue coat dress she wore to Luxembourg and for Easter this year, buttons on the sleaves like the cornflower blue coat she wore in Germany.
She has probably got 10 blue coat dresses and at least 20 blue coats...

What's the point on having so much of the same ? People don't even see anymore it is new. That is probably why I thought her dress was not new.
