On the third and last day of their visit to the Channel Islands, the Earl and Countess of Wessex visited Forest Primary School in Guernsey to see how the school is preparing to celebrate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The Earl and Countess then visited the Alderney Wildlife Trust (AWT) which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
Thereafter, the Earl and Countess visited the Roman Fort heritage site at Longis (known as The Nunnery). Finally, the Earl and Countess visited Sark, where they presented the island’s emergency service personnel with a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal, and also met with Sark’s Occupation Generation in the Island Hall.

Lovely green jacket worn by the CoW, but somehow to me it doesn't combine well with this pair of trousers; I'm not sure whether it's the model of the pair of trousers or the shoes; probably the shoes as the the pair of trousers in itself isn't bad. The countess higher would have been nicer in a bun or ponytail imo.

I like green blazer and Sophie looks good in green but pants looks more like pyjama pants.
ReplyDeleteAva
My thoughts entirely. The trousers are not at all attractive or flattering.
DeleteA shawl collar always reminds me of a bathrobe, even though I'm happy to see it breaking bounds and appearing in other contexts. Here it looks quite nice and I love the green tone and fabric of the jacket. However those trousers suit neither Sophie nor the jacket. The white breaks the outfit into two smaller pieces and the block pattern makes her legs look shorter. I'd have preferred if she had worn trousers of the same fabric and colour as the jacket to provide a solid colour silhouette.

Yes, the best thing about this outfit is the beautiful green colour. Just imagine how good she could have looked in a tailored green jacket with slim white trousers. (V.M.)
DeleteCompletamente da bocciare!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pity for lovely Sophie. She definitely has to choose another stylist.
ReplyDeleteMabel
Maybe she has no stylist. I heard there are only a few royal ladies who has one.
DeleteLove the jacket; the pants not so much. The green and grey windowpane plaid on white background is visually unattractive. But, I admire the countess for trying something different.

Lovely green jacket, but could definitely do without those Victoria Beckham trousers. And I don't think that I would like those trousers with anything else as well.
ReplyDeletePeut-être que je pourrais aimer la veste verte mais pas du tout sur ce pantalon à gros carreaux qui donne une drôle d'impression pas à l'avantage de Sophie !
ReplyDeleteThis confirms to me that I really do not find Victoria Beckham's designs attractive. Occasionally there is something great but the majority of the time they are just disappointing and sadly fall short.
ReplyDeleteAgree 100%!

I think it also matters who wears Victoria Beckham's designs. They are not made for every body type nor for every trendy style setter. When the right person meets the right clothing piece, her designs can look pretty good.

100% agree with you on VB designs. About the only thing I have seen from her that I love is a beautiful light blue blouse worn by CP Mary.

short robe and jamma bottoms? a no from me. jenne'
ReplyDeleteBeautiful green blazer paired with an awful pair of trousers paired with a very wrong pair of shoes--espadrilles. The pieces of the whole outfit have such potential. The blazer is gorgeous but I think it makes Sophie look a bit broad in the beam--not sure if its where the blazer hits at her hips or if it is because it is closed. The color is wonderful for Sophie so maybe seeing paired with something different would help. The trousers are too busy--even the model looks dumpy in them. But, had Sophie paired them with a dress shoe if might have helped her overall look. The espadrilles look like cement blocks with those trousers. I hope to see Sophie wear the blazer again because it is such a great color for her and I hope Sophie puts those trousers in the dark recesses of her closet.

The short wrap coat (which is otherwise lovely) says winter. The shoes say summer. The pants say bedtime. The outfit says chaos :/
ReplyDeleteNot a good look. Bathrobe and pants look like she stepped out of the bedroom.
ReplyDeleteThe Emerald green blazer looks wonderful, the fit is perfect. However the VB pants are an acquired taste. Personally I don't care for this style of pants at all, very unflattering, regardless Sophie obviously likes them.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I have to mention the Earl, he looks very smart and dapper in his suit, he has been looking very well groomed of late, probably, its the fact I am just starting to notice him more. Very nice.
