On May 19, 2022, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the charity premiere of the movie "Top Gun: Maverick" at the Leicester Square Gardens in London. The premiere, a Royal Film Performance, is taking place in aid of the The Film and TV Charity, which supports people working behind the scenes in the UK's screen industry.
ROLAND MOURET Lamble Gown
Very nice.
ReplyDeleteSimple elegance at its finest.
...Marie
Catherine looks stunning in this gown. It's the perfect example of where less is much, much more, and where true cut and styling of a beautiful gown and a beautiful woman come together to make magic. Her face and straight hair reminds me of Carole Bouquet in "For Your Eyes Only".
ReplyDeleteFull marks to William as well for his fighter jet velvet slipper/shoes. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie too.

Agree with every word, Anon 9:13!
DeleteThank you Coralie. I'm glad that we all recognise something nice when we see it. Enjoy your weekend.
Delete- Anon 9:13
Hallo Anon 9:13, thank you for your friendly words. I wish you a pleasant weekend in return. Mine started - as always - with hubby and me on the dancefloor. But: we don't join Partys on fridays - we take dancing lessons, which can be quite challenging after five workdays! But then it is the best way to leave the work behind...
DeleteThat sounds like so much fun Coralie! Good on you both. Is it ballroom dancing? We love to dance as well (all kinds) and have been doing it since our youth before we met. It is a very pleasant way to socialise with friends who have the same interests; also to get a workout. I agree that it is a nice way to relax after a busy work week for us too. It is a long weekend here and the 'unofficial' start to our summer season so it means 3 days of work in the garden getting it ready for the warm months, planting Summer flowers, and trimmimg the trees. We started the day early with a long kayak paddle near our house followed by a visit to the farmers market for breakfast. Best wishes.

Wow what a show stopper a fabulous dress just gorgeous &, Kate wears it well . Love her hair & make she looks glamorous. Would love that dress for myself Mary
ReplyDeleteKate looks very glam. Picture #10 she looks just like young Carole Bouquet.
ReplyDeleteThe Duchess looks the epitome of elegance and grace, she looked beautiful. The gown is divine, the fit is perfect, this style works incredibly well for her. I love the drop diamond earrings, and small evening clutch, great choices. I don't normally like her hair parted in the middle, but on this occasion, this style looks well groomed, suits the off the shoulder look of her gown. Her makeup is on point, so natural. Prince William looked dapper and well groomed. Jennifer Connelly, looked lovely in her b/white gown. How gentlemanly of Tom Cruise to lend a hand to the Duchess, up the stairs, class act. He looked handsome in his tux. (cannot wait to see this movie)
ReplyDeleteI loved it... until I saw the exposed zip in the back.
ReplyDeleteIt does not look from the photos of the event that Kate's version has either the transparent patch or the exposed zipper of the model's. The photos on the Cambridge's instagram account show a very clear photo of the back.
Deletereally! thats my favourite part. j
DeleteAgree with you, Vanessa; this is such a gorgeous dress and the exposed zipper is such a let down. I also wonder if the white neckline wouldn't look even better if it was an inch (2.5 cm) higher on the arms...
DeleteMCS
I´m happy to see that she had the zip replaced by a subtle black one. The photo showing her from behind wasn´t there yet yesterday when I commented. Now I love the dress unreservedly.
DeleteWm and Cathine look regal. Tom looks weird with his built up shoes and inside heels lifts, which puts his ankle bone at an odd angle. jm
ReplyDeleteIt's not just the boots that make him look weird. Gg
DeleteThe Duchess of Cambridge hair styled the way it is makes her look much younger than she already is. Her earrings are fabulous. Unfortunately Tom Cruise face filler have really altered his handsome face. I had to look twice to know who he was!
ReplyDeleteQuite different from her usual evening dress style but stunning! AnnieM
ReplyDeleteThat dress is utter perfection and few (Royal) women could wear it like the DoC. But just like in the Caribbean with that divine ice blue evening gown, a middle part with hair straight down just seems all wrong here. I wish she had done something different with her hair, it takes points off an otherwise smashing evening look.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning!!! I was wondering how Catherine was going find a way to make us all forget that dazzling gold Bond premiere dress--and this is how! This is the total opposite--sleek, minimal, classically elegant, and totally perfect!!! Again, she is amazingly beautiful. That 2nd photo is one any husband would want from his wife--her look at William is incredible, so full of love and pride.
ReplyDeleteJanet
I don't like that dress at all and Catherine does not look good in it. It is something wrong with white piece on the shoulder maybe a bit too low maybe wrong style and from the back it looks not good also. pity because she always have beautiful evening gowns. Maybe next time.
ReplyDeleteAva
Absolutely stunning. A minimalist look that spells glamour. No necklace, watch or bracelets on her arms to break the minimalist look or distract from the gown itself.. Even her straightened hair goes along with the theme.
ReplyDeleteIt is not a custom when queens or princesses are dressed for a gala to wear a watch. She could have worn a bracelet, but the earrings are so beautiful that just one piece of jewelry together with the straight hair is perfect.
DeleteThis dress is the epitome of elegance, she looks vintage and current at the same time, perhaps due to the simplicity of the hair, polished and youthful, the earrings at are fabulous. Love the outfit!!
ReplyDeleteCherry
Dress, hair, earrings, her smile...stunning look.
ReplyDeleteKaarin
Because of the stunning straight dress I would have liked the hair a bit less straight, but otherwise it is difficult to express any critical point here!
ReplyDeletemabel
I agree with you about hair.

ReplyDeleteCP Mary of Denmark, Queen Letizia of Spain, Princess Charlene of Monaco could.
Not a dress, but have a look at queen Maxima's blue/white jumpsuit with same neckline .... (https://www.modekoninginmaxima.nl/mode-maxima-mode-algemeen/maximas-jumpsuits)
DeleteMCS
I agree about Letizia, Mary and especially Charlene. It's why I said "few" Royal women and not NO OTHER Royal women! *wink*
DeleteStupenda, elegante e se migliora la postura delle spalle sarà perfetta, regale.
ReplyDeleteSi vede che la adoro?
Rossella 🌹
Catherine is jaw- dropping in this simple and yet effettive gown perfectly paired with elegant shoes, bag and earrings.
ReplyDeleteThis dresbworks so well on her slender figure.
I have seen a video and the back of the dress seems to have been adapted for the Duchess as no zip nor sheer parts are visibile.
Her straight hair with the central parting is glorious and she looks much younger.
Makeup is delicate and gives her a beautiful glow.
William is dapper as always.
I wish Tom Cruise had not changed his face to this extent.
ReplyDeleteThe Duchess looks stunning. Perfect dress, perfect hairstyle and makeup, gorgeous earings.
ReplyDeleteThe Duke also looks very dapper with his velvet jacket and shoes.
Boucles d'oreilles de chez APM MONACO peut-être?
ReplyDeleteNo, Robinson Pelham Fine Jewellers
DeleteAll that elegance: and Jon Hamm!!
ReplyDeleteMrs Cleaver
You should have seen the cashmere slippers of HRH The Duke of Cambridge. He had the original fighter jet from the first Top Gun film stitched on them! Aside from that, I think that the overall look of the Cambridges knocked it out of the park yet again. They do glamour so well in a slightly understated way, scarcely anybody else in royal circles has that ability. Top class act.
ReplyDeleteKate looks great in the photos up to the waist. However, I think the dress is much better for a slightly curvier woman. The dress looks much better on the model. Kate is just too flat all over. Slim is nice, but with appropriate curves, that's what some dresses need. So does this one. Rest like hairs etc is great though. Frieda
ReplyDeleteIMHO she ist looking georgeous - Body potivism. Liberty
DeleteJust found out that Queen Maxima had a black jump suit from Roland Mouret in 2016 or --17 with the same white band around the shoulders.
ReplyDeleteI also saw a picture of the loafers Prince William wore. This is a no for me it reminds me of comfortable house shoes for men in a velvet or woolen quality with a symbolic print/shield stitched on. There is nothing better than a classic pair of black leather shoes for men.
Catherine back of the dress was altered especially for her.
ReplyDeleteAva
I think that hair style is too severe for Catherine.
ReplyDeleteAva
I don't care for it either.
DeleteRenee
Agreed
DeleteYes, I agree with you Ava. It makes her look so worn out and much older. I cannot understand she has this style so much lately. It doesn't suit her at all and it neither suits Letizia who also has it every day lately.
DeleteGoing by the first photo I was expecting a white dress with an interesting floral pattern! Perfect for Spring! I couldn't wait to clink on the link! But, nope. :-( Just a simple LBD with a white surgical band ... er ... I mean large white boarder around the top. She looks lovely but at the same time, not her best look imo. The earrings are very nice. And oh yeah, William looks good too.
ReplyDeleteEuropa
Also illustrates how short Tom Cruise is in "real life."
ReplyDeleteBrava, Kate, brava!
ReplyDeleteThis ensemble is on my list of Kate’s best looks. Her dress, accessories and styling game is sophisticated and spectacular, perfect for this TPO (time, place, occasion). She’s adding more looks to her style vocabulary, and I applaud the effort and the results.
Earrings are to die for. I love the star motif and the “shooting star” linear element.
Вера💚🦋
Cute but she still too thin.Another family member,a close friend of Roland's has the same dress only short and has worn the same hairstyle a few times.
ReplyDeleteSorry not a fan of the dress;it looks like the white is toilet paper;or a stretchy band of after thought. Her hair looks too flat;not the usual bouncy hair. I like the earings. (Tabby)
ReplyDeleteGreat looking gown nice contrast with the white around the shoulders. The earrings a fantastic, but do not care for her hairstyle at this event.
ReplyDeleteShe looks elegant and beautiful, the earrings are especially admirable...but I am not a fan of the white thingy, it looks a bit like an elastic bandage trying to tie her up. I see the point though, the color contrast is beautiful, but it just looks too tight.
ReplyDeleteI can't help but remember the Duchesses late mother-in-law with something similar:

This used to be one of my favourite dresses on Diana.
Cathrine is beautiful on her own right, the comparison was just nostalgia.
Its wonderful to have these events back again !
ReplyDeleteCatherine has really found her fashion mojo of late ! This dress is divine in its simplicity ! She even managed to have her own 'Pippa' moment in photo 12 !
Love her hair. It truly is her crown and glory !
William and all the gentlemen looked dapper. But, loved how William got into the spirit of things, and had the plane embroidered onto his shoes ! P
