On May 25, 2022, Queen Sonja of Norway attended the opening of the 2022 Bergen International Festival. As a tradition, the Bergen Festival was opened with an outdoor opening ceremony at Torgallmenningen in Bergen. Pianist Leif Ove Andsnes was the speaker during the opening ceremony.
Bergen International Festival is Northern Europe’s largest music festival and is held every year in late May / early June. This year, the festival is taking place ffrom 25 May to 8 June.
I really like the idea of leather hat and jacket. I don't know if it's only the photos, but the jacket looks a bit tight though. -Siri

DeleteQueen Sonja dressed very youthful today. Am not sure if leather was suitable for this occasion. The blanket at the end saved the day cause that dress is certainly above the knee when sitting down.

This is one of the few times I don't like queen Sonja's outfit. The first thing that have to go is the hat. I'd replaced it by a hat in the same white, cream as her dress. On picture n° 4 one can see the thin leather strings that are bound together to keep the coat closed. These kind of coats are generally designed to leave open. It is also looking a bit tight.

DeleteI agree,but then I personally seldom like leather outfits. I hope to see some other outfits later during her stay in Bergen. Normally I find her to be one of the most elegant royals today.
DeleteI do not care for the leather coat and hat, a simple wool coat would have been fine. I like the colour and the style of the dress, but I find the jewelry too fussy.

ReplyDeleteI agree with the majority. The leather hat and coat are outdated and the color is not attractive. Her necklace looks heavy and outdated (reminds me of chainmail) and the heavy looking chain of her bag is too much . I like the color of her dress, I like her shoes, and her smile is beautiful. I love the native dress worn by the woman walking with and seated next to Queen Sonja. (Debra)

I think it´s a great outfit. I like the cream and cognac colours together, and the contrast making the jacket´s perforation visible. I also like hat, shoes and purse. If I´d change one thing it would be the necklace: it can simply go. The outfit has enough interest already - the special material, the perforated pattern, the tied string closure, the purse already featuring a metal chain.

I am not a fan of leather clothes, but I love this outfit, its unusual and out there! This coat has some interesting features. The decorative design on the leather adds interest and stops the overall look from being bland. The tie strings to close, is inventive and different. The mix of colors is wonderful, I love this combination. The Cognac color leather coat combined with the cream dress looks fabulous. The fit of the coat, I don't have a problem with. The necklace and earrings don't appeal to me. The bag and shoes are the perfect choice. The Queen, does not shy away from modern pieces, never looks out of place on her, she manages to look stylish, chic and elegant, it seems effortless for her. I need to take some lessons!
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about HM's ensemble. Love the coat and the color combo. Love the style of the hat (pill boxes are my all-time favorite style) but I'm really iffy on the leather. I think I would have preferred the hat to made of the same fabric as the dress. That cream dress is beautiful. Still, HM looks marvelous!

I teeter, I totter, cannot quite put my mind on what is, or is not wrong with this outfit. It is definitely not one of her better ones, but wonder why she chose it, and has she worn this before?
