On May 31, Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria visited Helsingborg city to attend the opening of H22 City Expo. The Queen and Crown Princess attended a seminar on "the dementia-friendly city" held by Silviabo. Afterwards, the Queen visited SilviaBo's social housing program for senior's and those with dementia in Mariastaden. The Crown Princess will also participate in several program items with a focus on sustainability and innovation.
This is a very bold suit, but the tailoring is perfect, and therefore I´ll give it a pass. She can pull it off, although I would have preferred a more muted shade of pink. The shoes are great with it, and the bag is fine, but the rest of the styling could be better. The blouse seems a totally random choice as it has no apparent connection to the pink suit and just adds another quirky (shiny & patterned) item to an already loud outfit. I would - again - suggest a simple white round-neck top instead. And lastly, the hair. I understand that it´s easy, it´s tidy and it is her preferred style, but the strict conservative bun just clashes with the very vibrant suit. This outfit called for a younger, fresher and more dynamic hairstyle.
ReplyDeleteVictoria needs to watch out to not overdo the colourful suits. I think she bulk buys these, and the idea is getting old.
Silvia looks fantastic here. This is a very common look for her, but it suits her so well. Classy, neat and flattering. Well styled as well. And a big yay from me for sensible shoes.
I think both ladies look wonderful. Q. Silvia’s suit is a beautiful colour and fit, and I love the pearl jewelry with it. I’m surprised that her flat shoes look so good with the outfit, but they do. CPV is wearing one of her signature looks - a tailored pantsuit, and it’s a good choice too. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts as well, V.M.; both of them look great in their own style.

ReplyDeleteBoth Queen Silvia and CP Victoria look great. Silvia's suit is classic and elegant while Victoria's trouser suit is fresh and modern. This pink suit is one of Victoria's trouser suits that really looks great on her--it fits very well and looks neat and sharp.

Comme souvent, le style classique d'un tailleur/jupe met en valeur la silhouette de Silvia ; Victoria reporte ce tailleur/pantalon rose-vif aux lignes nettes dont le simple boutonnage apporte une touche élégante !
ReplyDeleteQ Silvia looks great always elegant. I also like the suit of CP Victoria, very lovely color and always a nice smile for everyone.
ReplyDeleteSilvia's flat shoes ruined her look in nice suit. She would look much better in higher heels .

Don't forget Queen Silvia isn't that young anymore. Maybe yesterday she felt more comfortable in flat shoes. When I read the explanation above it looks like there where different visits on the program, so flat shoes can be helpful.
DeleteSilvia's skirt is knee-length, so she can get away with flats.
DeleteAlthough she's not wearing higher heels, there's nothing short or stumpy about her. She has very good figure for a woman in her late 70s and her style is usually very flattering to her shape.

I said higher NOT high.

Noone wears a suit as perfectly as Sylvia.

Love Victoria's pink pantsuit and Silvia's beige suit. Both look very elegant and classy.

Queen Silvia looks lovely in this beautiful two piece suit. The pattern on the fabric is very attractive. Her pearl necklace and earrings blend in well with her jacket. I think she has two brooches on, difficult to make out what they are? CP Victoria looks fabulous, this pantsuit fits well, I am not a fan of the blouse, love her shoes.
ReplyDeleteI love the Queen’s Chanel flats. Regardless of age, it’s good to see royalty wearing smart shoes and not sacrificing the health of her feet for fashion. Btw, her Birkin is fabulous! … Ana Maria
