Queen Mathilde presented The Queen Mathilde Prize "ISEE/IDEA/IDO" of the Queen Mathilde Fund to Brake-Out, at the Royal Palace in Brussels. Just before the award ceremony, the Queen had a meeting with the youth jury, which again chose the laureate of the Queen Mathilde Prize from various projects submitted this year.
The Queen Mathilde Fund annually supports dozens of initiatives in Belgium that empower socially vulnerable children and young people. The call for projects 'I SEE, IDEA, I DO' provides specific support and professional guidance to young people seeking solutions to local challenges, thereby encouraging young people's entrepreneurship.
The Queen Mathilde Fund is managed by the King Baudouin Foundation, and the Fund supports exceptional initiatives in Belgium that are associated with the improvement of living conditions of socially vulnerable children and young people, whether they have a physical or mental disability, come from a migratory or under-privileged socio-economic background or face some other difficulty.
Not a fan of the big/loud print on the top of the dress, the navy color is fine, wish the print was smaller, would look so much better.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The large print is overwhelming.

Not bad dress but I think would be much better without the belt for Mathilde .

I fully agree.
DeleteLove that the shoes match the print and clutch.
ReplyDeleteI like the colour combo of navy with orange and pink patterns, but the pattern is a bit over the top. The dress is a great fit and it looks so much better than the flared skirts she often chooses. Gorgeous shoes.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that really do not like loud prints so I feel I could be biased. I do not like ginormous print on that dress. The dress is a great style and the navy blue is wonderful color--both of which look wonderful on Queen Mathilde. I wish I could remove that huge flower and replace it with just a simple orange trim like found on the sleeves. Other than that awful flower print I think Mathilde looks wonderful here.

The little flowers time finally over. I prefer the larger prints and as it is not all over the dress but just in the bodice, Queen Mathilde looks very on trend.
ReplyDeleteClassy and elegant as always - Queen Mathilde. Mary
ReplyDeleteSuperbe robe mais je trouve que les grosses fleurs sur son haut semblent un peu trop envahissantes ; à mon avis, je n'aurais pas gardé celle de gauche ; superbes chaussures que je vois rose/orangé ?!
ReplyDeleteTo my taste, much better with grey shoes.
ReplyDeleteThis is no meant to be rude, but I have an impression that Mathilde most of the time dress like an old lady and thats to bad? Or is it that it just look that way on her? Is she to classic? Don't know, but I hardly like her outfits.
ReplyDeleteWe don't know the designer of this dress. On several occasions I had the feeling that Maxima makes better choices in the Natan collection than she, particularly regarding colors. By the way I am not basically a Natan hater ... but don't like everything they produce.
Delete@MaryT. The designer of Queen Mathilde's dress is ETRO an Italian brand. Strange automatically everybody thinks Queen Mathilde does not wear anything else than Natan. Actually she is wearing a lot of other designers in the last months.
DeleteThis type of dress suits QM well. I'm in the minority here, but I do like the small belt. Agree with most that the huge flower on the left shoulder is too much (put your finger on the image to see it wihout), but somehow don't mind the huge flower on the back. So, overall to me the queen looks okay.

Most people here on the blog are not ready for the bigger flowers. In a couple of years when Queen Mathilde shall wear her oldies everybody will like her dresses more than now.
