Dutch Princess Margriet and her husband Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven are paying an official visit to Canada from Thursday 12 May to Monday 16 May. On May 14, Princess Margriet opened the Canadian Tulip Festival, an annual event in which tulips are on display around the city to commemorate Canada’s role in the liberation of the Netherlands.
Such a gorgeous jacket combined with a great pair of trousers worn by PM. In one picture I got the impression she had a glove on, but really hope this wasn't the case as I don't like the colour. She looked 'ravissant' during this visit.

Unless my eyes are deceiving me, I see her wearing a pair of orange gloves in the first 4 photos.

Really lovely! PM looks so elegant. Might have used a neutal, like beige maybe, for the gloves but other than that I think she's beautifully attired.

I agree. She has really gone overboard with the orange accessories, but I guess they suit the occasion. If you’re going to open a flower show, you may as well wear lots of colour! (V.M.)
DeleteAnother great outfit. Love the jacket in particular. Is she wearing gloves or is tiuy just a trick of the light. The fact that this lady is nearly 80 and so stylish gives me real hope for the future!
ReplyDeleteOh wow!, what a chic, stylish and modern outfit. She really has fabulous dress sense. The outfit combined suits her beautifully. I'm not sure what color her shoes were but she looks great, so elegant.
ReplyDeleteLook at picture N° 2, there you can see her shoes. They are orange just like her pants and the cuffs of her jacket. Her handbag and earrings are orange too. A bit publicity for the home land and "The house of Orange" : Orange is the color of The Netherlands just like red is the color of Spain and Canada (with white).
ReplyDeleteQuelle élégance chez Margriet dans cette combinaison colorée très lumineuse ; une fleur parmi les fleurs !
