On May 25, Swedish Princess Estelle, Duchess of Östergötland, visited Östergötland county with her parents Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel. Princess Estelle visited Östergötland for the first time since 2014. During the day, the Princess unveiled her portrait at Linköping Castle and attended Nature Takern's tenth anniversary. Nature Takern is a modern visitor center located at the shore of lake Takern.
Princess Estelle was born on Thursday 23 February 2012. On the day after the birth, the King announced that he had conferred the title Duchess of Östergötland on her. On May 2014, Princess Estelle inaugurated a 700 meters long trail at Nature Takern, which bears the Princess' name. The path is a gift from the county that was handed over by the then governor Elisabeth Nilsson on the occasion of the princess' baptism in the spring of 2012.
Smiling beauty! How open and lovely she looks!
ReplyDeleteAgree! She has a natural and joyous affect and it is a pleasure to see her growing gradually into her role, which seems to be monitored so carefully and well by her parents.
DeleteCP Victoria and Prince Daniel can be proud. How sophisticated and mature their daugther was up to the task. P.L.A.
ReplyDeleteJust lovely!

All look great for this occasion; super they adjusted their outfits somewhat for the walk.

Really lovely, natural girl with her loving parents.
ReplyDeleteThe whole family looks quite nice.
Mabel
Estelle looks lovely in her very versatile outfits. Nice to see her visiting her duchy! Poor Daniel, seems to be always in a suit - would be great to see him in a nice shirt & pullover sweater for a change. *Regina
ReplyDeleteThere are no duchies in Sweden.
DeleteNo, Anon 00:54? What is she Duchess of then? Thin air?
DeletePrince Daniel has to venture from time to time out of his double breasted suits. The tailoring of his suits is perfect. His presentation is perfect. It was only a couple of days ago that he attended the dinner for the Polar Music Prize wearing an impressive tuxedo. BUT again, it was double breasted. I've seen one or two photos of him in casual dress and single breasted suits and boy oh boy, does he look 'yummy'.
DeleteJust check, nobody is wearing a pullover on this occasion; looks as an official visit to a local place.
DeleteBRB, I am gonna go cry over seeing Estelle in tiny heels T_T
ReplyDeleteHow did she even grow up so fast? When did that happen???
Mimi
Estelle has grown so much love both outfits very fit for little girls she is dressed beautifully Mary
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos. Perhaps when Princess Estelle changed into jeans her mother could have done likewise to save the skirt with clumpy trainers look. ( yes I know it’s considered edgy by some but just doesn’t look good here) AnnieM
ReplyDeleteHi AnnieM - I think Victoria looks fine - even cute - in the white runners with her semi-casual outfit. That's what women here would do if they were on their way to work or out for a walk on lunch hour - just slip into a pair of comfy shoes. *Regina
DeleteSuch a beautiful and poised young girl! Estelle looks perfectly age appropriate in both her dress and suit. Daniel and Victoria are doing a marvelous job raising and preparing a future queen. The portrait is a wonderful likeness of a younger Estelle. Victoria looks great today--she's wearing that Mayla jacket perfectly this time. I feel sorry for poor Daniel--Victoria and Estelle were able to change into the right footwear for the nature trail walk but he was left wearing his leather dress shoes not to mention he's still wearing his tie.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Well, i don‘t think that the 700m walk in leather shoes was a problem.
DeleteWhat a lovely family. Estelle is growing so quickly! Seems like just a year ago, she was a baby.
ReplyDeletePrincess Estelle looks great. Love her first outfit and later when she changed into more casual style.
ReplyDeleteFor someone so young she looks confident and relaxed which is good considering her future public role. Loved how they came hand in hand.
And how good posture Estelle has! And how much she has grown. Time fly.
Kaarin
Kaarin, you are right!
DeleteEstelle a bien grandi ; trop mignonne dans ses tenues polyvalentes entourée et guidée par ses parents bien aimants !
ReplyDeleteAnon 7:24 Exactly. Thin air. There are no duchies in Sweden. Period. These titles are something made up by the royal household many, many years ago. Once again, there are no duchies in Sweden. They were abolished in 1772.
ReplyDeleteMim, aren't royals made up as well?
ReplyDeleteNice family. Pss Estelle, is doing a great job already and no shyness of the cameras. Great look on everyone. V&D proud parents.
ReplyDeleteDo you mean to say Sweden is a constitutional monarchy where all the royal titles are more-or-less ceremonial? Then I think everyone here knows that. Estelle will not receive feudal dues from Ostergotland, we are aware of that. She will just have a special ceremonial connection with the region and maybe attend some special programs related to the place.
ReplyDeleteThus, no duchy so don’t call i so.
Delete@Anonymous 21:56 What constitues a duchy in your view?
Delete/Haga
Time really do fly, one can see it at ones children. Estelle has so grown she looks great with glasses. V&D look very nice too.
