On May 26, 2022, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden attended the premiere concert of ABBA Voyage at the ABBA Arena in London. ABBA Voyage is a concert series to be performed virtually by the Swedish pop group ABBA. The concerts will show ABBA as virtual avatars depicting the group as they appeared in 1979.
The concerts will take place in a purpose-built venue located at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, officially called ABBA Arena.

I don´t like this outfit on her. And my main problem is the colour (combination). I find it jarring and unpleasant. In a different, and more subtle tone, this could be something.
ReplyDeleteWe rarely get to see Silvia in trousers, so I like the idea of variation, but this gives me both pyjama vibes (shiny satin and all) and late 80s neon flashbacks (though that might be intended?).
The purse is cute.
The king looks very dapper.
I appreciate that she dared the change in these summer circumstances. A bit daring, why not.
DeleteCette couleur bleu vif lui va à merveille mais je verrais mieux le pantalon remplacé par une jupe droite tout en gardant cette magnifique veste mais en la raccourcisant légèrement ; ravissant son mini-sac à mains (clutch) !
ReplyDeleteThis pant suit is not to my liking but I admire Queen Silvia for daring to be different. Her earrings are out of the norm for her too. I love her purse. She and the King look happy. (Debra)
ReplyDeleteI feel she wore this outfit to go with the ABBA theme, concert of sorts. Its not her usual style, but its no garish, just fits with ABBA and that era of fashion colors.
ReplyDeleteAnon 20.59 I think your correct in this thought, It didn't cross my mind until you mentioned it. I also think she is keeping the ABBA theme. Well said.
DeleteAlthough I love queen Silvia's pantsuit I think it is a bit too young for her. The pants are also too long. But I think she wears it because of ABBA. It match their music style. Maybe she is a big fan of ABBA. I also like her purse. Did she borrowed Queen Maxima's earrings ? Anyway I admire her for wearing something different than usual. More queens and princesses should do it once and a while. As long as she has fun.
ReplyDeleteABBAsolutley fantastic that the king & queen of Sweden attended this special event. Mary
ReplyDeleteTotally out of Queen Silvia's wheelhouse--a pantsuit with a print that's rather jarring, very unusal for her earrings. But, I think the whole thing might have worked except for 2 issues--wrong style of shoes (Ferragamo low-heeled pumps) and wide-leg trousers. A narrower leg and different shoe could help. The color is beautiful--and with the changes--even that (to me) garish central print might have worked. I like the evening purse but its print is way too busy for a suit with a huge print. I like the earrings--more like earrings CP Victoria might wear but they look good on Silvia too. I LOVE that beautiful emerald (I guess) pendant!!! Best part--the Dancing Queen attended the ABBA concert with her King and they looked like they were having a wonderful time.

How splendid that the Royal couple were able to attend. I love the little bag, its gorgeous. The subtle necklace looks great with this outfit. The King looks well groomed, very dapper.
ReplyDeleteI think we're seeing Queen Silvia in her ABBA outfit...... Love it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what King Carl Gustaf would look like if he took on a bit of an ABBA look :-))
I have just read on another site that the hoped 'tea-time' meeting with Queen Elizabeth didn't take place. It appears that the queen (Elizabeth) had left for Balmoral in Scotland for a rest before she participates in her jubilee celebrations next week.
ReplyDeleteLove the bag and the jacket--perhaps with a pair of dark trousers the vibrancy of the jacket would have looked better. Agree with everyone who said (a) good on her for trying some thing radically different form her usual choices (b) almost certainly chosen deliberately for the Abba vibe.
