On May 22, 2022, Grand Duke Henri, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie and Prince Charles attended the Octave Procession and traditional pontifical mass that was held as part of Catholic Octave celebrations. The Octave is one of Luxembourg's major annual religious celebrations.

Paule Ka off-white satin crepe dress
Oh wow! what a divine little boy Prince Charles is, and so well behaved, sitting in Church, a real sweetheart, he seems to have a lovely temperament, the heart melts!
ReplyDeleteQDMT looks really good, this outfit is fabulous. The black pants are divine, length and fit perfect. The Valentino jacket and top look wonderful. The embroidery on the Valentino jacket collar's is beautifully done, I love this. Her choice of shoes and clutch, splendid works in well. The overall look is very stylish and chic. HDG Stephanie, looks nice in this cream dress and pale blue accessories. Its interesting her earring change? I like the simple necklace. Her hair looks well groomed.

DeleteThe question about Stephanie's earrings is puzzling indeed. The dress shows once more how difficult it is for her to have a dress which meets demanding criteria. I also like the accessories.
Deletetoo much bare chest on display! Stephanie's cleavage dress not appropriate for occasion! Grand Duchess too

Not a good choice for the occasion.
When I see how the dress looks on Princess Stephanie, I'm happy to stay in the 20th century with my faithful old 20th century, china teapot and ready to use, supermarket tea bags.
Respect for religious services transcend time.
DeleteI like this dress on Stephanie. She looks great in it, although it´s not necessarily ideal for a religious service. I wonder why she´s wearing different earrings in the first picture.
ReplyDeleteMaria-Teresa looks nice (flattering outfit on her as well), but again, maybe not ideal for the occasion. In her case, I think it´s too casual.
Finally, Stephanie has a dress that suits her figure well. However, the neckline is too deep for a religious event. In addition to having the same name as the hereditary Grand Duchess, I am also a Catholic like her. It is grossly inappropriate to show a gap between the breasts in the church.
ReplyDeleteStephanie
Too much bare chest for both women and why did stephanie change her earrings? The 2nd paid looked much too casual for such a church event.
DeleteSeriously neckline...just get so tired of these old-fashioned attitudes.

DeleteThis has nothing to do with old-fashion, but with how catholic people are supposed to conduct when visiting a church or a mass or another ceremony in church. And it is not something that must be respected only by catholic people but in general when you enter a religious place you cover up your body. If you enter a mosk you must take your shoes off and for women cover-up your face. When you are educated well you know these things.
Old-fashioned ideas are not old-fashioned. It is called respect for a religious service/mass. Both Stephanie and MT should have worn a shawl, to cover the low cut issue of the garments they wore.
DeleteHGD Stephanie’s hair and makeup are delightful, and I like the touches of blue in her accessories, but the dress doesn’t fit or flatter her at all. It’s too short and too tight. What a shame! (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteFully agree with you, V.M. The iceblue/greyish coat looks wonderful on her though.

Stephanie looks both elegant and feminine. Especially with the light jacket, her look is almost perfect. I don't care for the shoes, the purse or the earrings. Some dainty pearls in her ears and grey pumps with matching clutch and this would have been one of her best looks in ages.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised and delighted that they felt confident enough to bring a toddler to a 2 hour long Pontifical Mass but adorable little Charles seems to have handled himself very well!
DeleteLovely dress on Stephanie, and love love MT hair and Make up. MT has the last few years really stepped up her fashion. New stylist? She looks absolutely smashing!
ReplyDeleteTwo badly dressed ladies, that’s it,
ReplyDeleteMabel
It is a lovely dress and Stephanie looks good, but the neckline gets deeper on her than it looks on the model due to Stephanie's larger breasts. She changed earrings maybe she should have brought a shawl or jacket too ? She is a Catholic and should know how to dress in church.
ReplyDeleteMany churches in Italy have a sign outside asking us tourists to do it. - LL
HGD Stéphanie : the neckline of the dress is too deep for a religious ceremony. As a catholic she should know that. For the rest the dress has a good cut for her.
ReplyDeleteGD Maria Teresa : the Valentino jacket is not a good cut for her. It is too short and the collar is too big.
Little prince Charles : always so cute.
Ohh what a cute litle prince
ReplyDeleteYes, he looks the best of them all.

The Grand Duchess looks great! It is not informal, it is poerfect for the occasion. Stephanie looks vulgar and cheap, a complete disaster and not ok at all for church.
ReplyDeleteD
According to another site (or comments there) there was a two-part mass. The photos are a mix of both. In the morning Stephanie had a coat which she had left away in the afternoon. Perhaps the earlier earrings were not comfortable and were also changed for the afternoon service. Such things happen.
ReplyDeleteLittle Charles did not attend the morning service and even in the afternoon he was present only part of the time.
For a young mother with child the important is to attend the religious service not dressing up in any special way. (I know "people" want royals dress "royally").

@D, you know that one can critique fashion without actually insulting the wearer. Stephanie, may not be an impeccable dresser, but to say that she looks “ vulgar& cheap” is just mean and disrespectful.
ReplyDeleteBoth outfits look exceptional on the models, but neither has been properly fitted for these women, MT’s jacket seems to fly away and the lapels swallow her, the rest of the outfit is unremarkable, I do like her hair. Stephanie’s dress seems a little tight on the bust area and perhaps a bigger size would’ve worked and added a bit of length as well, she needs to wear better underwear or perhaps a thin body shaper, on this instance you can see lines and bulges that could be easily avoided, the blue coat is the perfect complement, but once again way too small. I know that her hair is well coiffed, but I do find it very dated and it ages her.

Stephenie also changed her beige shoes as seen in picture 4, to blue wedges along with the earrings. Im thinking it was 2 separate ceremonies as one appears to be outdoors. Colours of the dress and coat are nice together.
ReplyDeleteHere is the explanation of the different earrings for Princess Stephanie.
ReplyDeleteNot all photos were taken at the same time. The Pontifical Mass was celebrated on Sunday morning ; the procession took place on Sunday afternoon and ended in the cathedral. In the meantime, the Grand Ducal Family made little change to their outfit : different earrings and shoes for princesse Stephanie who wore a coat and a handbag in the morning ; different ties for the Grand Duke and different handbags for the Grand Duchess. Little Prince Charles was only present in the afternoon.

Soon the Grand Duchess will look younger than her kids if she keeps up all the 'facial fixings'.
ReplyDeleteHeard about glasshouse Lisa?
DeleteStephanie looks georgeous. I prefer her blue earrings. Nice to see Prince Charles at such an grand occasion. Too cute.
ReplyDeleteI don't know admit of the ladies, and I'm not talking about them only about their sartorial choices.
ReplyDeleteGDMT has a tendency of using low neckline, which I don't see they do her amy favor, also in my opinion she tries very hard to look younger without achieving that
Stephanie, she is such a beauty, alas her husband and her over their ideal weight and she does not car for fashion.
I would get a capsule wardrobe, put together with an stylist and move on
Actually, you are talking about them, like how hard one tries to look younger, and the other 2 are overweight. Both comments sound rather personal to me.
DeleteCherry
I don’t think either of the two royal ladies have found yet their personal style yet. Not even MT. She seems to struggle-often choosing weird and sometimes inappropriate outfits. Generally she is all over the map. Also, in that last photo clearly shows she’s tried (rather unsuccessfully imo) some facial surgery (maybe more than one) - why on earth would she do that. We all age - and the attempt to pretend otherwise is just showing insecurity. Rather surprising for someone in her position.
ReplyDeleteMaria Theresa looks wonderful. Stephanie looks nice too--not sure about the earring change though. A simple pair of pearl studs would have been a better choice. Her hair looks lovely in the up-do. My only problem is that her necklace is buried in her breasts--that should have been caught before she left home--and that's not a good look. Kudos to little Charles for attending the service and being so amazing well behaved!!! Most children his age wouldn't make it more than 15-20 mins without getting fidgety.
