On May 25, 2022, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hosted the third garden party of the season at Buckingham Palace in London. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was joined by The Earl and Countess of Wessex, Princess Beatrice and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. Garden parties have been held at Buckingham Palace since the 1860s as a way for the monarch to recognize public service.
Sophie is my favorite! Love her little hat of a slightly darker shade than her dress and her dress is so elegant without being fussy. The blue color is great!

All the ladies are dressed appropriately for a garden party. They all look great Mary
ReplyDeleteMy favourite here is Countess Sophie’s bright blue outfit, followed by Princess Beatrice’s 30s style look. Love shoes and hat worn by the Duchess of Cambridge but the dress is very pale and I don’t like the high neck. Love to see the Duchess of Gloucester no matter what she wears. AnnieM
ReplyDeleteAll the ladies are beautifully dressed for the garden party. Can't really pick a favorite because each lady is perfectly dressed in her own wheelhouse. I also really like Catherine's earrings.

Catherine, Sophie and the Duchess of Gloucester all looked really well dressed for this occasion to honor those who have done a lot of good work in their communities and for others. The men looked handsome. Sadly, Bea's hat thing, did not match the equally unappealing dress that looked more like a house dress, than something more appropriate for the Royal Garden Party. Anne
ReplyDeleteAll fabulous, but gotta give my “next level fabulous ensemble award” to Bea! This is a flawless look. Absolute perfection.

Looks like Kate is channelling Laura Ingles little house on the Prairie. I like Sophie, and Beatrice's outfit. It's a garden party; I much prefer floaty florals(Tabby)
ReplyDeleteAll 4 ladies look nice. The dresses are simple and low key but not ordinary. Shame about the weather. On the video clips you can see that it's raining quite heavily at times but the hosts continue conversations with their guests while sheltering under umbrellas as if it wasn't raining. Perhaps this figured in their choice to wear pale colours - so as not to show wet spots on their clothes if they did get wet.

Lovely to see the Duchess of Gloucester, she looks prepared for the terrain, flat shoes, marvellous! As always her jewellery is spot on, wearing a beautiful luscious pearl necklace, the quality is superb. Lovely pearl earrings. Sophie looks pretty in her blue dress, love the diamond brooch. Catherine looks nice, but her dress is a miss for me. Beatrice looks lovely, but not a fan of her headpiece.
ReplyDeleteI like Beatrice's dress. Not sure about the hat but she looks comfortable.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand....Catherine looks nice but the dress and hat seem "fussy" and not too comfy looking.
Sofie's dress is a great color it pulls funny in the back area.

I really like that, Sophie Countess of has been wearing her hair in a low chignon now that she has been attending more events. I just love looking at the photos and seeing how engaging she is with each person she is talking to. I think that we are going to see more her!
ReplyDeleteI like all the dresses but my favorite is Countess of Wessex. The color is simply divine, the fit and styling also suit her perfectly.

Beatrice is by far my favorite. Her outfits are more and more modern since she married M Mozzi. If the dresses of Kate and Sophie would have been knee length than maybe they would have been more swinging. Esp. Kate's dress looks very
ReplyDeletePerfect Kate in a “ my fair Lady” outfit!
ReplyDeleteSophie: Lovely dress and cute little hat, but her shoes should have had a different colour to make it top;
Bea: Nice dress, but should have added some colour somewhere.
All in alll I think this is a nice oldfashioned event that everybody loves!
Mabel
Beautiful, splended Washed-out-Looks for the garden-party.

What an ugly dress the Duchess of Cambridge is wearing here. This looks more like an old fashion night gown than a dress. The hat looks ridiculous. The only things I like are her earrings, shoes and clutch.
ReplyDeleteCountess Sophie's dress is too long as usual but for the rest not bad at all. It has a beautiful blue color, the hat and handbag are lovely too.
Princess Beatrice : Also an ugly dress. And these silly headbands. The only thing that looks good on this picture is her figure.
So, the only one who is dressed more or less beautiful is Countess Sophie.

DeleteO.K. that's your opinion.
Well noted.
like the way you are not backward in coming forward with it.
I am honest. I cannot say I like something when I don't. Whether I am writing anonymous or with a nick name it is exactly the same. You don't know me and I don't know you. I prefer it that way. This blog is just to discuss fashion of the different royal families. And sometimes the discussions go a little farther : politics, religion, race etc... It is normal not too much but just a little bit. We are all human beings with our own preferences and opinions. It is by reading the preferences and the opinions of the others that one learn something from each other. Isn't that wonderful, that is what it is all about !
DeleteYou are absolutely right. So try and mind your manners.Siv
ReplyDeleteAs beautiful as it looks on her and how well made it's, the DoC (again) wears a hat at a garden party which to me has an 'Ascot vibe'. In this case the 'simplicity' of the CoW's hat as well as PB hairband appeal more to me. The earrings worn by the DoC are stunning and go well with her outfit, although I don't like the dress that much (makes me think about colonial times). The CoW looks okay, but it would have been nice if she would have had her shoes in a blue tone as well. PB looks good in this checkered dress.
ReplyDeleteThe hair and make-up of all look good.

Well, Countess Sophie's dress looks familiar :

It suits her well but too long as usual.
For me the Duchess of Cambridge's frock has a Victorian vintage style about it.
ReplyDeleteHer hat ...... love it.
I think for garden parties, a bit of Over-The-Top is accepted.
Pity about the rain but then, a day in England without rain is not normal.
With the greenhouse effect it is. Believe me. Siv
DeletePictures to dream of! They all look wonderful, but I like Catherine with her matching umbrella best! It must be wonderful to joyn such an event...
ReplyDeleteNot real fan of any of royal outfits here. Sophie ok, but yes, like many of you already mentioned, the dress is too long. Bea's dress is quite nice but the head piece is definitely too heavy. And Kate looks like she's participating colonial themed dress party. - Lisa
ReplyDeleteCatherine hat is beautiful but her dress is not.

Love, love, love the handbag the CoW is carrying! Btw, there are no such things as "Ascot Hats" or "Garden Party Hats". Royal hats are mostly all in the same category.
ReplyDeleteCatherine mi piace sempre, anche quando indossa abiti rigorosi e classici come questo che mi sembra sia simile, nel modello, a quello che aveva al matrimonio di Pippa. In quell'occasione era color rosa antico.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great that they dress so differently and we, as well as the guests, have a lot to chat about? My two small critical notes: PB's headpiece is too large, imho, and CoW's dress is too tight on the upper body. It may be ok with a busy print, but is rather unflattering with a monoblock color. Love DoC's outfit and accessories. Even the raincoat of DoG matches her hat somehow.
ReplyDeleteI think all the ladies are aptly dressed for the occasion, even though Cat's hat looks tad too over the top.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I get she is standing in for the Queen just like others members of the family, so formal outfits are required for this formal gathering.
I like the way the Duchess of Cambridge and the Countess of Wessex interact with their guests.
Finally Garden parties again. I love all of the day dresses of the Ladies. How nice they all balance on standing and walking with high heels in the grass. High heels and grass bad combination.
ReplyDeleteKate looks too fussy. I much prefer Sophie’s choices. Even if it is a bit tight on the bodice. Bea looks a little too casual. The elders look as expected, each in their own, tried and true, style.
ReplyDeleteKate is for me the best dressed. I love this Victorian style. Not a fan of the hat. From none of the ladies actually. Sophie's dress is too long as usual and this type of dress just doesn't suit her bodytype but she had a dozen of dresses like these unfortunately. But the colour is great for her.
ReplyDeleteGosh they must be boring events, so awkward! I think Kate's is a bit overdone, to much mint, to finessed, to much My Fair Lady, just too much. I liked Sophie's look much better.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if it is so boring like you think, they meet a lot of people there who have done important things for the country and the people living there. So I guess they have to say interesting things :-)
Deletethey all look wonderful and Sophie is my favourite! Love her outfit very much from head to toe!
