Princess Benedikte of Denmark made a two-day visit on May 18 and 19 to the island Sylt in Germany. Sylt is a German island in the Frisian archipelago in the North Sea. On the first day of her visit, Princess Benedikte met with the island's Danish and Frisian minorities and spoke with them about their culture and history, including the island's historical connection to the Danish royal family.
On the second day of her visit, Princess Benedikte reopened a Danish school in Vesterland. The school has undergone an extensive renovation, and the students are mainly from the Danish minority on the island. The Princess also visited the Altfriesisches Haus (Old Frisian House), which serves as a museum with a collection depicting the history of the Frisians.
ReplyDeleteSo elegant, so chic PB's dressed as always. Two minor quibbles: the nude colour of the handbag which isn't the best choice for the navy/flower combination and the colours of the necklace with the second outfit don't combine well with the colour of the jacket and hat, but maybe they go well with the dress (which can't be seen very well {yet}).

Agree with your comments about the necklace and 2nd outfit, which just does not look right on the Princess. She is such a beautiful classy woman, this outfit does her no favors.
DeleteThat makes her human, wouldn’t you agree?
DeleteVery classy.
ReplyDeleteAs always.
DeleteAnd always a pleasure to see her.
I'm looking forward to photos of her son's wedding this year (I think it will be in spring).
I love these pictures! Sylt is such a wonderful place! But expensive, since so many wealthy people go there. I recommend Norderney instead.
ReplyDeleteP. Benedikte is always a pleasure to see? I prefer the first outfit with the tailored jacket. The second jacket seems like an odd fit on her, quite shapeless and too voluminous, although the colour is flattering, especially with the matching hat. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteI love the first outfit, just perfect for the occasion and so stylish. I agree the colour of the handbag is the only jarring note. Also love the colour combo of the second day's outfit, and although I like the style of the swing jacket ther's something not quite right about it. Always good to see her.
ReplyDeleteI love the Navy tailored jacket on the first day, the pink top highlighting the pink flowers in her skirt. The Navy hat I love, overall very chic and stylish. Looking equally lovely on day two. Smiling and engaging, a marvellous visit by the Princess.
ReplyDeleteThe always elegant Princess Benedikte looks amazing in her Day 1 ensemble. Her Day 2 ensemble--a rare miss for PB. The skirt is quite pretty and its got huge potential for another occasion. The jacket is something that might work with a column-style dress and feel sure PB has a few of those in her closet. The color is so flattering for PB--so, again I am hoping for a restyle to see if the jacket can work. On another note--cannot wait to see photos of the wedding of her son!
