On the sixth day of their tour of the Caribbean, on April 27, the Earl and Countess of Wessex visited Soufriere in Saint Lucia. Soufriere is a town on the west coast of Saint Lucia and located within the caldera of the dormant Qualibou volcano where the area is geothermally active. The Earl and the Countess visited Fond Doux Cocoa Plantation and the Sulphur Springs in Soufriere.
Thereafter, the Earl and Countess of Wessex attended a performance celebrating Saint Lucia's young people at the Soufriere Mini Stadium where she spoke with locals and met with members of the special forces.
On the evening, the Earl and Countess of Wessex attended an investiture ceremony at Government House in Morne Fortune, near Castries. The Earl and Countess spoke with recipients during the investiture ceremony. The Caribbean tour is made by British royals on the occasion of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee year.
I don't like any outfits here what she is wearing. She is young and good looking woman and somehow her outfits make her look much older .She should change the way she dresses.

It is a bit the custom in the Royal family of Great-Britain to wear clothes that are too old and too long for the ladies who are wearing them.
DeleteShe doesn't have the money other royals have
Delete@Shirl in Oz . It has nothing to do with not having the money. Most of the clothes she wears on this tour have been bought new I suppose. If they are too long she can have them made shorter which means a big difference already or she is buying her clothes at designers who are not aware of what is going on in the world of fashion.
DeleteNicest outfit in this overview is the navy blue dress, but again the CoW's wearing a dress which is too long. Hair and make-up in all pictures is good and the blue earrings really good on the coutess. Not too keen on her shoe choices during this trip.

I reacted to the shoes too. Clunky and heavy, very unattractive, and hardly practical. The blue dress is nice (albeit a bit long) but is really let down by those shoes. She really needed something more delicate and elegant, especially for the evening, but actually for most outfits, really.
DeleteShe is such a lovely pretty young looking lady, but all these " grandmother" dresses. She needs another stylist.
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of Sophie and over the years she has improved her wardrobe but, on this tour and lately, she has been wearing these loose fitting big and long dresses that do not do her figure any justice.
ReplyDeleteFrench women do know their lenghts - and Princess Benedicte from Denmark of course:-)Siv
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if this has anything to do with her choice of skirt length, but tradewinds are prevalent on the islands, and longer skirts are a good way to avoid having the wind catching the hem and billowing the skirt into a "parachute". S.M.
ReplyDeleteOkay. So why is she wearing the same style dresses in England?
DeleteIt appears that the Duke is becoming increasingly handsome as he ages. The long dresses are not very appealing. The red print one looks like material from apron from the 30's.
ReplyDeleteAgree, best looking Windsor Prince. Marie
DeleteCountess Sophie looks very fresh and relaxed in her white pants and green tunica. Love the wedges. The ME+EM dress is probably very light to wear especially with the butterfly sleeves but I don't like the print of little flowers.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I normally don't like clothes designed by ERDEM, I like this navy dress with the embroidered flowers very well. I like also the wedges she is wearing but not with this dress.
The first couple of photos, the green top is too short, the white pants, were too short, either wear capri's or long pants.
ReplyDeleteThe red/white dress was way too long, the sleeves not appealing, and the same shape of dress she has worn throughout this tour, v-neck, and with trim around the upper part of the dress and waistline.
The Erdem blue/white dress is lovely, more the type of dress she would normally wear, her hair is well done, the jewelry lovely, but the blue open toed shoes looked cheap, and out of place with the rest of her outfit. Again, for as pretty as the dress is, it is far too long on her. She is not outside where the 'wind' could catch it and cause a mishap. It would have been really nice if was just a little below knee length. annie
I do not agree with you about the white pants. Capri's are out of fashion. 7/8 pants like Sophie wears are still fashion.
DeleteSophie doesn't have the upper arms for the blue dress. Someone needs to tell her.
ReplyDeleteI nominate you. I think her arms are absolutely fine and she should wear whatever sleeve length she likes.
DeleteMy biggest issue with Sophie's choices of dresses is their length--always too long. I actually like her dresses. I wish the green tunic had been a few inches longer. Other than than I like the outfit. I really love the photo of Sophie and Edward together--what a great shot of the couple. We might be seeing their Xmas photo! They are such a dynamic couple. Janet
ReplyDeleteWho cares about dress lengths etc etc the world is on fire,at war, going hungi... And the rich of the world are partying as normal! Please for the love of God ... Let's raise our game from just hem lengths. Sofia looks grand altogether
ReplyDeleteDynamic couple 🤣
ReplyDeleteLovely summer frocks.
