On April 27, 2022, The Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Anne visited the headquarters of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) in London. Princess Anne is patron of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM), The Duchess is patron of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG). The Duchess wore a crepe belted midi dress by Self-Portrait.

I see Catherine moving to a more mature style of dressing over the past few months. This outfit is an additional example of that and it suits her very well. Wearing her hair down also lends a look of mature sophistication though it could be problematic in bad weather though not in this case. Or perhaps her look was to synchronize with her husband's older, less fashion conscious aunt.
ReplyDeleteThe suit fits her well though I would have welcomed a contrasting coloured belt to break-up the monochromatic cream which isn't very exciting. I don't much care for the appliqué details on the front either.
Princess Anne seems to have put a bit of effort in her outfit and looks very good. I like the colour and the fabric texture. Perhaps the thought of accompanying Catherine also had an effect on her choices. Both look good and seem very comfortable in each others presence.
Two unexpected royals groupings in one day - one in Sweden and one in England. Whatever next? :)

My thoughts exactly.
DeleteI think Catherine could have upgraded her outfit a lot more, but she tried to synchronize her look with her less fashion conscious aunt.
The Duchess' hair look healthy ,glossy and beautiful as always.
Well done.
Kate would have look much better in suit -dress with full skirt as it is on model , because it is beautiful outfit. in color and cut.. As I can see the lenght of dresses are getting much too long on many royalties.
ReplyDeletePrincess Anne looks elegant with matching shawl, nice color for her.

Wow Kate looks stunning I like this ensemble very much. Mary
ReplyDeleteBoth of the ladies look lovely. I have noticed in a few photo's now Duchess Catherine is flicking or touching her hair; not a good look, you need a hair style that once it is done that is it. The pearl earrings and necklace look nice. I love the lady with the bright rose outfit ;fantastic (Tabby)
ReplyDeleteOn other web sites you can see Princess Anne, pushing, touching, scratching at the back of her hair, maybe a hair pin was not sitting in the right place. Annie
DeleteGreat to see the two of them working together. Both outfits very typical of the wearer and both looking good. AnnieM
ReplyDeleteThey both look awesome!
ReplyDeleteUhhhh--I have a weird reaction to what I am seeing here. Anne is the fashion winner. Her suit is better tailored, a nicer color, and more flattering than Catherine's choice. Catherine looks wonderful but the jacket part doesn't look well-fitted, the skirt is too long, and the color is bland. She is dressing as if she were Anne's age! Meanwhile, Anne looks chic with that beautiful wrap/scarf matched with her suit. Never thought I'd write this post! Janet
ReplyDeleteNever I’d thought to agree with you on this.
DeleteAnn looks really stylish: beautifull colour, ditto dress coat, and also love her nice, not so high heeled shoes.
Kate, a rare miss, Mabel
Yes, Janet; my unexpected reaction as well: PA looks better than the DoC! I agree with all your comments.

Agree with the comments above. Marie
DeleteBelles toutes les deux, chacune dans son propre style mais je pense que la tenue de Kate aurait été beaucoup mieux en la portant ceinturée de camel afin de casser sa couleur blanc-cassé !
ReplyDeleteHow nice to see the two of them together! Both of them look good.
ReplyDeleteWhat a classic elegance ! It's like Dior's New Look 1947 'recreated' and the suit and Kate look gorgeous imo.

It is wonderful surprise to see Anne and Catherine at joint event. Both ladies look lovely. Not very fond of the midi skirts but on Catherine it looks good and flattering. And her hair....I'm ashamed to admit that I suffer from a mild case of hair envy, ahhh.

Bello il completo indossato da Kate, ma le applicazioni sulla giacca non mi fanno impazzire!
ReplyDeleteDuchess Catherine : I prefer the outfit like it is presented by the model. The fit of the skirt is better and shorter. The contrasting belt makes it more flattering. Except from the appliqué parts on the jacket the dress is rather lovely. A bit of added color (clutch, shoes, belt....) could make it more attractive.
ReplyDeletePrincess Anne : So boring : in style, in color, the shoes and clutch, everything. She is the one who should wear something in cream. I see her in a nice cream pant suit with a beautiful blouse (contrasting color) and shoes and/or clutch adapted to the color of her blouse.
Dss Catherine's skirt is too long IMV
ReplyDeleteI loved Catherine's suit. And loved the hair and shoes too.
ReplyDeleteI found it very appropriate as is not too loud since this is not a solo engagement.
I don't quite understand why Kates's skirt has to be so matronly long....apart from that she looks great. Frieda
ReplyDeleteI really don't like Kate's suit at all. It is ageing. She may have felt she should dress in a certain way to appear with Anne, but I really don't think she should have to. The appliqué reminds me of something Camilla would have on her clothes. I think the skirt is too long and she could have gone with a pant suit and looked much better. Anne looks quite nice. Her coat is lovely, and her scarf is beautifully coordinated. ~d
ReplyDeleteBoth ladies looked really lovely and their outfits were nice, each chose to wear what suits them (no pun intended) and for the occasion, it was all well done.
ReplyDeleteEl traje es bonito pero creo que le falto algo de color, para mi gusto la falda es demasiado larga,
ReplyDeleteBoth Catherine and Princess Anne looked lovely in their respective outfits. Someone mentioned Catherine fiddling with her hair; Anne appeared to mess about with hers as well. They were both interested and quite animated talking with the professionals. annie
