The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will take a tour in the Caribbean countries including Belize, Jamaica and The Bahamas on behalf of Queen Elizabeth on the occasion of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The visits will take place between March 19 and 26.
On March 19, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at Belize City's International Airport and thus began their Caribbean tour. The Duke and Duchess were welcomed by governor-general Froyla Tzalam at the airport.
Thereafter, the Duke and Duchess met with the Prime Minister of Belize Johnny Briceno and his wife Rossana Briceno at the Laing Building in Belize City. During their visit, the Duke and Duchess toured historic Mayan sites, received information about the rich culture of the Garifuna community in Belize, and explored the country's biodiversity.
Glad to the Duchess wearing stronger colours, they flatter her so much more than those muted colours she has favoured in the past.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes and bag are gorgeous.
Colour and shoes: yes; however, this dress (or skirt/top combination) doesn't do the DoC's bodytype any good and next to this I consider it being a bit old fashioned
ReplyDeleteMCS
@ MCS. It is old fashion. Lace is out of fashion since 3 or 4 years. The colour becomes boring too: it is the same colour as the coat on Commonwealth day. William is looking good in his light blue suit, except for the tie which is too dark.
DeleteLove the entire collection of clothing, from the classic color and style of the suit, to the shoes/bag/jewelry, and her hair was casually done for the occasion. William could have worn dark navy shoes, instead of the brown ones. But overall, great first day! jj
ReplyDeleteAgree JJ. Her blue color a also a perfect know to the Belize flag. Navy (or black) shoes for William would have been better.

ReplyDeleteWow Super Model Duchess 😍 Beautiful deep blue suited for sunny Belize.
ReplyDeleteHer style has grown a lot from the first state visit when she wore free style skirts that were blown by the wind the minute she stepped off the plane.
Now A-line skirts below the knees are ideal for state visits.

Beautiful suit in a beautiful colour--same colour as for the Commonwealth service---so what? It's a gorgeous colour anyway and it suits the Duchess so well. It would also appear to be the predominant colour in the flag of Belize. Shoes are fabulous. My only small concern would be that, in some photos, the skirt seems subject to "cling" instead of hanging straight. Nice suit for the Duke as well.
ReplyDeleteYour comments are spot on.
DeleteA half-slip or slip may help with the skirt issue, but that’s a style language from my generation, less so from Kate’s. I happen to love cobalt blue, and don’t feel overwhelmed when it’s styled thusly.

ReplyDelete..plus de fluidité..
Wow, Catherine looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteMy only quibble is the too straight line of the overall outfit which elongates her.
Love her makeup.
She seems to favour pink lipstick shades recently and I think they give a fresh new light to her beautiful face.
The shoes are to die for.
William is dapper as always.
Well done.
Sheer classic elegance in every detail!

Catherine's hair, shoes, clutch and jewelry are fabulous. Yes, she is thin and this style of dress accentuates her body type. A more free flowing skirt would create the allusion of more curves, but I think she is happy with a leaner body line and no doubt works hard to maintain it. My problem with the dress, is the lace. I think it is too formal for a informal arrival ceremony. But the color is gorgeous. As always, she looks beautiful, and William very handsome. The Prime Minister and his wife look wonderful in their tropical outfits.
ReplyDeleteWhy on earth would she have to look more curvy? This is very nice, appropriate look.
ReplyDeleteShe is barelegged, which is not often.

As usual, all is very elegant, beautifully tailored, almost immaculate. But then, as I said a few days ago for the Commonwealth Service appearance, she is overdoing it with the "one colour from head to toe" theme. There is no contrast at all and therefore the whole truly marvellous outfit quickly leans toward "boring".
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am reading comments referring to this outfit as lace, I believe that is actually a jacquard print, which I find a little old fashioned, it sometimes can be smartly combined as a separate with solid colors. I like the color, the shoes, and the hair and jewelry, but the entire ensamble is something that a much older woman would wear. I agree that this type of silhouette only emphasizes her lean figure, but I think she prefers it like that, as she generally wears her clothes very snuggly. Can’t say that she looks bad, she never does, but this is a little underwhelming for me.

Hi Cherry,
DeleteAt first I thought you were right. But later on I checked it at What Kate Wore, and it's really lace and not jacquard. I love both though.
Greetings!
Just gorgeous! Catherine and Catherine Walker understand what should be worn for deplaning--a narrow skirt. The blue lace fabric is beautiful--so elegant. And the blue is a lovely nod to Belize and its national flag. William is also looking quite dapper (those dark brown shoes aside). Excellent start to this important trip.
ReplyDeleteOooops--meant to say Jenny Packham is the designer. Reading too many sites at once :)
DeleteToo much blue, I like the shoes and her neckless.

Especially the photos taken indoors with all the blue and white are wonderful! Catherines dress, the flag and Mrs. Bricenos belt match perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI would have loved to see a more current look on her. Yes, this is a classic look, but this tour needs vibrancy and to show the future. This look does neither. The color is fantastic though. I do however love the green suit with the teal shell, fabulous.

The Duchess looks lovely, this colour suits her, but I don't like this outfit. Very heavy lace for daytime, I am not a fan of at all. The all matching ensemble, blue shoes and bag, I would have liked to see a contrasting colour. The overall look we have seen quite a bit previously, a different designed outfit would be nice for a change. The Sapphire and diamond pendant and earrings are divine.
ReplyDeleteKate looks fabulous as always. Love her hair it just flows Mary
ReplyDeletePerfection & beauty from head to toe. She doesn't seem to favor hats for tropical locales. Would occasionally like to see her tanzanite pendant and earrings in place of the sapphire jewels. S.M.
ReplyDeleteBella, elegante. Il pizzo sta tornando per la primavera, è new gothic e mi piace parecchio.
ReplyDeleteOf course I know it's not always easy to choose right style for your own body type, different styles suits different bodys. But I guess a tall and slim body is one of the easiest to dress and yet Catherine goes wrong so often.
ReplyDeleteThis very straight and tight one colour ensemble just don't do anything for her. -Siri
Exactly, Siri; when dressed for the outdoors, however, she hardly goes wrong
DeleteMCS
Hi Rosalyn, you are absolutely correct, upon second inspection, it is indeed lace.
ReplyDeleteI saw her pictures on another publication and they described it as jacquard and in those it really looked like it was, but not so.
Regards
