On the second day of their visit to The Bahamas, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Sybil Strachan Primary School in the capital city, Nassau. The school, which was closed for nearly two years as a result of COVID-19, has over 700 students stretching from pre-school to Grade 6. The Duke and Duchess arrived in The Bahamas yesterday for the third leg of a Caribbean tour. The Duchess wore a new pleated chiffon midi dress by Self-Portrait.

Amazing dress. Amazing Duchess.

Agree Loulou!

DeleteFar from a nice dress to my taste: it doesn't fit well, the short transparent sleeves give it a childish feel and as so often it's too long. Next to this, too much green over the last couple of days.

She looks tired. A trip like this must be pretty exhausting.
ReplyDeleteThat is also my impression, yes it must be exhausting. The dress is nice IMV.
DeleteI don't like this dress at all. The bodice does no favors to the Duchess. Like other commenters I have been amazed at how her hair has not gotten frizzy. I wonder if she has the type of hair that goes flat in humidity so that is why we see it with less curl? I think her hair has looked amazing on this trip as well as her make-up. Michelle
ReplyDeleteI imagine she has had a keratin treatment. I get them to help tame my curly hair. Twice a year and it helps a lot.

I don´t like this dress either. I don´t think the colour suits her, the style is old-fashioned and gives me vibes of both Bavarian/Austrian folklore costumes and maid uniforms), the fit is off (it looks tight + the waist is too high, almost on her ribcage), and if I may add I find it wrong for the occasion (something directing attention to one´s chest is not ideal for a school visit), not to mention that the material must be rather uncomfortable to wear in a hot, humid climate.
DeleteWilliam´s light blue trousers look awful. The contrast with jacket and shoes is too stark, and it kind of clashes with her mint-green dress as well.
Sorry, no love from me this time.
Lovely summer dress. Great earrings
ReplyDeleteLove this mint colour and the dress style and cut.
ReplyDeleteI think she is beginning to show some fatigue and tiredness. on her face. Can't blame her at all on this non-stop multi-country tour when you are constantly in the public eye and expected to look your best 24/7.

Kate est délicieuse dans cette robe en mousseline plissée dont la couleur menthe fraîche lui va à ravir ; je ne suis pas fan de ses boucles d'oreilles, ce qui est vraiment très rare !
ReplyDeleteCute dress but, I'm not so sure - with the chiffon like fabric - that it's entirely suited for this occasion.

I want that dress. It is in my favorite color. Of course, I wouldn’t look anywhere as nice as the Duchess looks. She has looked so beautiful this tour.
ReplyDeleteCatherine looks lovely as ever; The dress is pretty, but I have to wonder why the long dart part over the hips? Is it meant to give the illusion of a hip line? My perspective is that it adds nothing to the overall look of the dress, but detracts, as one is left wondering why they are there. jj
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a strong bounce bag after yesterday’s blue outfit. The dress is airy, and Kate looks lovely.

Another new green dress, mintgreen this time. I don't get it, why someone would make seams on the hips of a dress. It ruins the rest of the dress.
ReplyDeleteEarrings are lovely.
First of all : I do not understand why in a climate like that, she does not prefer dresses in cotton. Secondly : the green E. Wickstead dress she wore to leave Jamaica is the only one until now that is a repeat. I wonder what happen to all the beautiful summer dresses she wore in the past f.ex. at Wimbledon and at other state visits in a hot climate. Does'nt she know that fashion industry is one of the most dangerous industries for the climate. All the polyester fibers that are used to make fabrics can be found in the oceans and seas around the planet. These fibers are not bio degradable. That is why we are encouraged to wear sustainable clothes made of silk, cotton and wool.
I agree with everything you said.
DeleteLots of green during this trip. But the DoC has never looked better, imo.
ReplyDeleteOk, finally something I don't like but I never like Self-Portrait so....earrings are nice.

This is not one of my favorite dresses worn by the Duchess during this tour. It looks a bit matronly, but the color is very nice. Her earrings are pretty but I think pearl drops would be better. I agree that she looks a bit fatigued. Who wouldn't be?
ReplyDeleteSo lovely, so feminine! Catherine looks wonderful in this dress. Yes, I wish those seams on the hips would magically disappear because they do look weird, but this is a very pretty dress--the details of the bodice are so beautiful with the pleating and covered buttons with loop closures. Must say William is looking quite handsome too.
ReplyDeleteThe color is beautiful, mint, shade looks beautiful on the Duchess. She looks lovely in this dress.
ReplyDeleteVestido atemporal que la favorece, últimamente está muy delgada y algunas cosas no la vienen nada bien.
