After spending 2 days in Jamaica, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge left the Jamaica for the next leg of their Caribbean tour. On March 24, The Duke and Duchess departed from Kingston Norman Manley International Airport to go to the Bahamas. The Duke and Duchess’ visit will end in The Bahamas where they will spend time with communities across a number of islands. The Duchess wore a green midi dress by Emilia Wickstead.

Queen's Hummingbird Brooch
I love the simple, well cut design of this dress, and especially the fabric. Combined with her up-do so you can actually see the dress and her beautiful facial features, her overall look is wonderful. I just wish the dress wasn't green. I like her in green but now I'm seeing too much of it on this tour. That's just me.
ReplyDeleteI love the brooch too.

I agree....too much green in a shoet time frame.
DeleteSome spring pastels would be nice.

Green is quite in fashion this year.
DeleteSuch a beautiful dress from Emilia Wickstead--loved it at Wimbledon and still love it in Jamaica. Yet another wonderful green for Catherine and a continuing nod to the Jamaican national colors.I can certainly understand another updo--its hot and humid and keeping your hair up is a perfect solution plus it allows the hummingbird brooch to be clearly seen. I find it interesting that Catherine is wearing HM's hummingbird brooch--she's not been big on wearing brooches and I had no idea HM owned a hummingbird brooch. But, this brooch is the perfect accessory for the blank canvas of the green dress. And, as I have learned the brooch was a gift to HM from Jamaica for her Golden Jubilee in 2002--so yet another nod to the long relationship between the UK and Jamaica. I can't wait to see what Catherine will wear in the Bahamas!
ReplyDeleteI like this dress very much. The cut is much more flattering on Kate than column dresses, IMO. I believe she is wearing Gianvito Rossi pumps. I love the color! I am so happy that she has shed the white shoes. Wearing the Queen's Hummingbird brooch is a touching tribute to both the Queen and Jamaica. It is lovely to add a little more history to this memorable piece of jewelry. ~d
ReplyDeleteLovely dress. Very clever choice reflecting the Jamaican colours of yellow, green (and black) The Duchess arrived in yellow and leaves in green.
ReplyDeleteTimeless style and elegance. Queen Mary would be proud. The future of the monarch is in capable hands.

I do agree wit the style and elegance, but I don't believe that the capability is depending on the clothes.
DeleteNo need to be offended, I just couldn't resist :))
The brooch is very funny, beautiful and stylish. It makes me happy.
That is the only dress I like . Nice modern style and color green suits her. Brooch is beautiful .

Love the brooch and the history of it with QEII. Wish she had not done those yellow stone earrings. They look like Kiki McDonough which Kate seems to have in all colors but I have never liked any of them. Love the dress and agree on the comment of being glad she shed the white shoes. The aquamarine dress she is wearing for arrival in the Bahamas is also gorgeous. Michelle
ReplyDeleteDress is simple and basic. Her hair and makeup have both been flawless during this entire tour.
ReplyDeleteLove this dress, the slightly higher waist line and the silhouette is very flattering for her figure. Hair and classy jewelry is the cherry on the cake. Love it!

This is a lovely, simple, subtle dress, that is a lovely style, the color green is a beautiful shade. The Hummingbird brooch is a marvellous, but clever tribute, to Jamaica and Her Majesty. Her hair and makeup look fabulous. I love the choice of beige shoes, perfect.
ReplyDeleteAll photos on the tour are just so gorgeous . Love them all. Kate can wear all colors.
ReplyDeleteCatherine is very tall;)
ReplyDeleteI'm 5'2.
I am there with you. ~d
DeleteBeautiful stylish dress and another shade of green which suits the DoC well. The updo looks great. Though I like the brooch, I feel this is not the best one to wear on this dress; it would look much better on a soft turtleneck or sweater in my opinion.

Brooch and earrings don't go together. If she had to wear the brooch because it was a gift from Jamaica to the Queen then she should have worn silver or white golden earrings. The dress is one of Catherine's collection of 1950-style of dresses.
ReplyDeleteAbout the hair : I don't like updo's on one side of the head. I preferred the updo with the green Jenny Packham evening dress.
Somebody was judging CP Mary for having too many 50 parties when "the world is in danger".
ReplyDeleteWell, I can only ask how many refugees coul'd have been feeded wit the price of those many, many, many clothes duchess C has been wearing on this short tour.
Not envious, just wondering...

Why do you only ask this question to the representatives of the royal family? Ask this question also to celebrities from the show business who have huge villas in the area of Santa Barbara, Montecit, Florida, Palm Beach, Monaco ... Your question could be: How many refugees coul'd have been feeded wit the price of those many, many, many bathrooms, private tennis courts? Ema
DeleteDear @HJ The world is like that and it"s hard for people like us to change it (as much as we'd like to).

DeleteLots of celebrities have actually donated money to help refugees and they have earned their own money. They can build how many tennis courts and bathrooms they want, with their own money.
But Catherine having new expensive outfits even tree times a day is just beyond belief. Luckily it really isn't my problem. I'm just wondering this worship and money waste.
Deadeggs, I know 😌

Sur cette robe verte très bien choisie, j'admire sa broche colibri ; de plus, j'aime beaucoup les petites boucles d'oreilles jaunes amenées dans ses bagages !
ReplyDeleteGreen is very becoming. I think Kate looks lovely with her hair taken up, taken back.
ReplyDeleteThis might be my favorite dress so far. The color is wonderful, and the tailoring is perfect. I like the padded shoulders as it creates a better neckline. The hummingbird brooch is the perfect touch. Catherine's updo is very nice and her makeup is modest but effective. I'm not sure about the citrine earrings. Perhaps something that would coordinate with the flower in the hummingbird's mouth would have better.
ReplyDeletenything either
