On Wednesday March 23, 2022, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a dinner hosted by the Governor General of Jamaica Patrick Allen and his wife Patricia at King's House in Kingston, Jamaica. The Duke and Duchess are making an official visit to the Caribbean countries on behalf of the Queen on the occasion of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The Duchess wore a glitter tulle gown by Jenny Packham.

Wow xxxx 10000

Agreed, jaw dropping! Those jewels are great icing too.

Divine!!!! (would have liked to omit upper the order sign, but that's probably etiquette)
ReplyDeleteMCS
Wow she looks stunning
ReplyDeleteColour of dress amazing
A true princess
The only thing what I like are her earrings.
ReplyDeleteBella, ecco la principessa delle favole!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous
ReplyDeleteShe looks just wonderful..
ReplyDeleteOh my gooooshhhh... the Duchess Is stunning!
ReplyDeleteNaturally beautiful, skyhigh elegance and demenour.
The Cambridges are perfectly coordinated to represent all the colours of the Jamaican flag.
Glorious updo and makeup for Catherine.
William is very handsome.
The BRF must be so proud of this couple!
P. the original. Agree with everything you said, perfect summing up !
DeleteThe color of the dress is wonderful. If the netting at the top were replaced with another material (perhaps a band of satin of the same color, encircling the top of the dress), I think it would be spectacular. To me it looks more like a prom dress. But, she does look glamorous. Her hair, makeup, earrings, and her beautiful smile are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteStunning ! Stunning ! Absolutely stunning !
ReplyDeleteTrès belle Kate dans cette robe quoique de la même couleur comme le mannequin, elle serait tout aussi magnifique ; j'adore ses boucles d'oreilles en or avec émeraudes et diamants !
ReplyDeleteStunning!!
ReplyDeleteLove everything about Kate’s outfit and appearance, however must especially point out the hairstyle which is so fantastic on her, and the earrings that are both funky and beautiful! ;)
Sorry.....this looks like a cheap high school prom dress on a 40 year old.
ReplyDelete...Marie
Agree, maybe that dress was considered nice in 18 century but not now in 2022.
DeleteAva
@Marie If I could post a picture, you would see this dress on me at my prom back in the day. I am not sure how to react. ~d

DeleteAgreed
DeleteNo it doesn't
DeleteI agree that it is a style for a teenager and I much prefer the dress of Mrs. Allen. The jewelry and hairdo suit her age and position but the dress, though a lovely color, doesn't.
DeleteLike a fairytale-princess!
ReplyDeleteThe colour is beautiful and the jewels are stunning. I saw in instsgram an old picture of queen Elizabeth with those jewels. I do not like the ruffled part, it doesn't suit her.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular emerald earrings on loan from HM The Queen, belonging to the Emerald Tassel Demi-Parure. The dress also is beautiful, save perhaps the tulle ruffles on top, but this is complaining on a very high level. Stunning.
ReplyDeleteHm, I don't know ... somehow Kate's style on this trip is always a hair's breadth off, I can't describe it any other way ("wanted but not able" comes to mind).
ReplyDeleteThis dress looks great at first sight, but if you look closer, I find the tulle doesn't fit, somehow old-fashioned, I also had this impression with the other dresses.
Exquisite, absolutely exquisite. What more can one say!
ReplyDeleteLike some, I too don't care much for the dress. It's a little too frou-frou for me and the volume of the tulle ruffles on the neckline diminish the overall look for me. I also prefer the paler mint green colour on the model as perhaps I've seen Kate wearing this darker green colour (from Forest to Emerald) too much.
ReplyDeleteBut as for Kate herself, she looks spectacular. Her hair, makeup and stunning jewellery gives her a new, mature, confident appearance (that she has been showing throughout this trip) that will hold her in very good stead in her future role to be.

A bit too Barbie- style for my taste. There is something that makes the upper part look cheap. Beautiful earrings. -Siri
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing evening gown and perfect accessories. I find this type of A-line ballgown much more flattering to Kate's figure than the straight sheath style she normally favors. Everything works here. The colors set off her green eyes and works well with her dark hair.
ReplyDeleteI love it that she wore her hair up but I don't like the view of the chignon from the sides or the back. I would have preferred as smoother bun similar to what she wore to the James Bond premiere. But as another commenter stated, this is a high level complaint.
Kate looked perfect.
This entire tour has been a sartorial clean sweep except for the white pantsuit which I didn't much care for.
I like the colour mint on the model better. It's softer.
ReplyDeleteShe looks beautiful! Love the color of the gown, her makeup and hair are lovely, and her countenance! Don't love the frou-frou tulle gown, but that's just me.
ReplyDeleteDuchess Catherine is very beautiful in this green Jenny Packham dress. Make-up, hairstyle everything is well chosen to coordinate with the dress. Normally I am not fond of emeralds but the design of these earrings is so beautiful and modern that it looks like they are made very recently.
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteThis entire ensemble and colour story has earned Kate a spot on my list of “All Time Fave Royal Moda Moments” (along with her James Bond Golden Girl).
Photos 3-5 are especially wonderful, one lady in sapphire blue, the other in emerald green.
Special shout out for Kate’s train! I like this length of train, though I can’t recall the name for this length.
Her frizure is fun and mod. I’ve been waiting for a structured style placed higher than the chignons which she favours.
Overall, an iconic Royal Moda moment. Brava, Kate, brava!

I believe it is a sweep length train. ~d
DeleteThe Duchess of Cambridge knows how to hit the nail on the head when it comes to fashion.
ReplyDeleteBoth the Duke and the Duchess look smashing.
Special note for Madam Allen - Excellent gown for a gala event and she wears it well. Bravo Madam.
I also thought that Madam Allen's dress deserved a mention. It's not got the wow factor of Duchess Catherine's dress but it's a perfect gown for the occasion. Catherine looks magnificent and the dress is a dream but like some other posters, I'm not mad about the tulle frills. The colour is fantastic, so much more impressive than the pale green on the model. And the Duke scrubs up nicely too!
DeleteSorry is it Madam Allen or Lady Allen?
DeleteHer husband is Sir Patrick Allen.
If you want to step away from fashion for a couple of minutes and if you have the time, take a look at the history of King's house where the reception was held.
https://kingshouse.gov.jm/history-of-kings-house/
Also the history of Jamaica may shock you a bit with the good and bad side of this paradisiaque island . One of the highest crimes rates in the world.
@deadeggs I have a very dear friend that is Jamaican, and she told me about the "bad" parts of the island. I had no idea, as we only hear about the tourist-y parts. King's House is quite beautiful. ~d
Delete@~d Ask your friend about homosexuality on the island. It is illegal for both men and women and can be punished by a prison sentence of up to 25 years.
DeleteNot a holiday destination for gay and lesbian people.
@deadeggs We have never discussed that...oh, that's bad.
DeleteA-MAZ-ING!! Really do not understand the Nay-sayers, buy hey, we are all entitled to our opinions. HM emeralds are icing on the cake. She looks so beautiful. perfect! Zed.
ReplyDeleteI love this look. The swept back hair with those gorgeous earrings. I wish she would take more jewels out of the royal vault more often as I often am underwhelmed by her jewelry choices. But this look is just stunning. Michelle
ReplyDeleteOne word a stunning Catherine.
ReplyDeleteWilliam is very handsome, they are a very attractive couple.
They seem to be representing the Queen these days in a very confident and glamourous way, she must be very proud of her grandson and his wife.
In my opinion her team have done a wonderful job with her outfits, on this tour.
She is just holding herself a lot more elegantly, just like Princess Mary and the Queen of Spain.
Well Catherine.
Sharni, very well articulated, I agree with you completely.
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous & brsath taking the whole ensemble. Give me that dress I want one it's stunning. Mary
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning--and those earrings!!! Green is always wonderful on Catherine but this emerald green is perfect. A number of posters are sarying this gown is like a prom dress or Barbie gown--but I see this gown as a beautiful retro look from the 1950s. This is exactly the same dress you would have seen on HM or Princess Margaret. Its a very Dior-esque gown. I really love Catherine's updo--the sleek front highlights her beautiful face as well as the loaner earrings from HM. Mrs. Allen is also wearing a beautiful gown--quite elegant and in a gorgeous shade of blue.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is a no for me, too prom like, and frilly. The hair, jewelry and makeup exquisite!
ReplyDeleteCherry
Now this is how you wear a ballgown. The Duchess looks elegant and graceful, dignified by far. The emerald and diamond earrings and bracelet look stunning. The small train at the back is sufficient, nothing too elaborate, perfect. The colour of this gown is divine, its a gorgeous shade of green. Her makeup has been beautifully applied. The sleek back hair into a up style is splendid and soft looking, the side and back view, its masterfully done. Her best asset for the event was her smile, which reflects her inner loveliness, she looked radiant.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent jewels! Beautiful gown, except I would have preferred it without the frothy neckline bit.
ReplyDeleteAnd whilst I hate commenting on weight, Kate does look incredibly thin, maybe even dangerously so.
I enjoy reading all the comments, good and bad, but to compare this exquisite gown to a cheap prom dress is dragging the bottom of the barrel for comments. I just laugh at the ones who rather than look for the positive, feel the need to say negative things about a beautiful woman, doing a difficult job, raising a family, being in the public eye nearly every time she steps out of her home, no matter if she is tired, feeling a bit poorly, or dealing with any number of 'women' issues, and does it all with grace, elegance and always a beautiful smile and kind words for those she encounters along the way.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is stunning, her hair lovely, the earrings on loan from the Queen are to die for. I wonder if they are heavy, or uncomfortable, but they sure are beautiful. jj
Charming Look 2022, so far.
