On March 2, 2022, The Countess of Wessex visited the newly completed Guide Dogs Reading Hub Facility to learn more about Guide Dogs services for children, young people and families, including buddy dogs in Reading. The Countess of Wessex is patron of Guide Dogs. Guide Dogs is a founding member of the International Guide Dogs Federation.
Alberta Ferretti high-waisted pleated midi skirt
Oh I'm jealous. I'd love to see the guide dogs. Those photos are so sweet.
ReplyDeleteThe Countess looks lovely, I love the colour combination of green and black. I like the black jacket and jumper, the long necklace breaks down the black colour well. The green midi skirt she wears well. A fabulous visit by the Countess, this is a wonderful facility offering a important service. I didn't realise she was Patron, excellent work.
ReplyDeleteAgree that the colour combo is lovely but outfit spoilt by the skirt being too long. The heeled boots are nice and her hair is lovely. She always looks like she’s enjoying her visits. Good to see her.
DeleteThese dogs are wonderful and the Countess obviously agrees. Her black (charcoal?) jacket, blouse, boots and clutch are a bit stark against the bright green of her maxi skirt. Perhaps a green and black print scarf would have tied the elements together. Her gold necklace and tiny gold hoop earrings are nice, and her hair and makeup are perfect.
ReplyDeleteIt’s an interesting outfit, but I always think she wears her skirts too long. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteYes, me too. Although the jacket and top are nice. I think it is a bit too dark. The skirt is made in a lovely green fabric but too long like you said.
DeleteA clutch in the same green and a scarf with a green print (like Debra said) would have been lovely. Nice jewelry but her hair is not very well done like in the past.
I have read that Alberta Ferretti is an Italian fashion designer and dressmakeer. In recent years her work has become popular with the "cocktail crowd. She is also well known for her eclectic range of shoes.
DeleteHaving lived in England for some years, I found that English women wear their skirts and/or dresses long. In some cases, almost to the ground.
Is it the climate that brings this about or just an English fashion style?
Really great look for Sophie! Yes, I want to lop off a chunk of the skirt--it is too long for her height--but this is a chronic issue. Everything is very pretty, stylish, and flattering. The big plus was getting to be with the dogs!
DeleteEnchanté, je m'appelle Prince et mon pote the King...
Tu nouS doit donc la révérence
The Alberta Ferretti skirt is fabulous and she wears it quite well. She also looks always spontaneous in her engagements and that makes her stand out, more than other royals.

I quite like this outfit, she looks very '1900 retro' somehow. Reality is, the beautiful dogs hair would stick and cling all over the fabric. :) Anne
ReplyDeleteThough the CoW looks great in this combination, I feel the length of the skirt would benefit from not wearing a jacket on top of it as in this case the waiste would be visible as well as the buttons(?) on the it. I do like her updo.
