On Friday morning, March 18, Queen Maxima attended the launch of the website "Refugee Help" in Rijswijk for refugees from Ukraine. Refugees from Ukraine can find relevant information about their stay in the Netherlands here in their own language. The site also provides an overview of organizations and initiatives that they can call upon. The initiators are the Dutch Council for Refugees and SparkOptimus.
On March 18, 2022, Queen Maxima visited two schools, the Vuurvlinder and the Diamond College in The Hague, where refugee Ukrainian children are taught.
Maxima looks lovely, maybe a bit overdressed (as often) but the event was not in direct contact with refugees but people working on the launch of a website. I would be pleased to see this attire again, and her hair are lovely.
ReplyDeleteIf there is one royal who can wear this very up to date, complicated and assymetrical outfit it's Maxima. During autumn and winter she favoured different shades of red for her pants, skirts, tops, etc..... Maybe she will continue to do this during spring and summer, we'll see.
ReplyDeleteThe additional photo's showed there was a scarf that she draped over her shoulder which gave me the impression of assymetry. Nevertheless it remains an excellent outfit for her and for other women who can where this kind of pants well.
DeleteThat’s a very nice hairstyle for Maxima, more of that please ;)
ReplyDeleteQuelle agréable surprise dans ce rouge lumineux ; son port de tête est mis en valeur par ses cheveux coiffés en chignon ; est-ce que je vois des boucles d'oreilles fantaisie faites de bois ?!
ReplyDeleteI wish we had a better view of Maxima's outfit, from the waist up. Is that a shawl/scarf draped over the left shoulder, or is it a permanent part of her blouse? She always looks good in red. Her hair looks very pretty, and her earrings are nice.
ReplyDeleteWith the additional photos, I see that the scarf was just a scarf draped over her shoulder. I like her outfit very much, including the shoes. The "Refugee Help" app is a great idea. I hope it helps those who have been displaced.
Delete@Debra: New photos have been added and we can now see that it is a shawl draped over one shoulder, as I had wondered about that as well before these new photos were added. For me, she looks very nice in this outfit with and without the shoulder shawl, the pimento colour is perfect on her and I really like her hair like this. Brava.

Queen Maxima looks fabulous, what a marvellous colour, she wears it superbly. Love her outfit.
ReplyDeleteThe colour certainly makes her stand out in a crowd.
DeleteHope that baggy pant go out of fashion soon.
Very few of us (and others)can wear them well.
For once, her hair looked good, not too overdone on makeup, or jewelry, and an interesting if a bit over the top outfit. Elena
ReplyDeleteFrom top to toe, QM looks wonderful today.

From the waist up she looks very nice and the colour suits her. Those trousers should be cut up and reshaped for someone else. How on earth does some designer put pleats in such a place for a person who is not straight up and down and beanpole thin. Even pleats from the waist are not so flattering if one has a more rounded shape let alone those pleats in their present position.
ReplyDeleteDeadeggs - it is not the baggy pants that are the problem it is the cut of this particular pair. Do I detect a Natan behind the scenes or am I just prejudiced in principle to that house and blame everything on them?
I think you are prejudiced because you don't even now it is Natan's. Other designers also make these "baggy" pants. Maxima is not a little woman and not extremely thin still she can wear this type of pants with the pleats.
DeleteA truly helpful initiative so well supported by our dear Maxima.
ReplyDeleteFashion wise: this rust jumpsuit looks nice on her and her hair is spot on.
She is professional, engaged and "hands on" in highlighting the Dutch Council's efforts to create all possible facililities for the Ukrainian refugees.
Well done.
