On March 15, 2022, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visited the Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith, London. The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visited the Irish Cultural Centre to celebrate the Centres 25th anniversary in the run-up to St Patricks Day. The Irish Cultural Centre Hammersmith is the premiere centre in the UK dedicated to the promotion and welfare of Irish art and culture abroad.
I like her dress. I do not like the boots.
ReplyDeleteBut I am wondering what kind of shoes she should wear. Low heel or flats?!
CC
Both low heels and flats would be good for her age and body shape . I agree with you CC the dress is nice the boots are not .
DeleteMaybe it's just the angle the photo was taken from, but in some of those photos Charles's pants look like clown pants - way too loose. I know Camilla's boots are often commented on, and I don't have a problem with her wearing them, but I do think that maybe she needs to get a new pair. They are starting to look a bit scruffy.
ReplyDelete@Gemma
DeleteDon't worry, they're the same old boots that will be going soon to the cobbler's for a resole and clean up for winter 2023. The date for Camilla's debooting should be announced soon (maybe by the Palace) and Camilla will go back to low heels and flatties for spring and summer.
One explanation to the boots is ,
DeleteDuchess Camilla has back problems and uses the boots as support, when she is at events where she has to stand / walk a lot. Queen Margrethe wears thick white socks, King Harald sticks.
The dress is nice and the style fis her as ususual, IMO ... but not in Virginia D's 21:01. 😏

DeleteI'd say that the boots are for warmth.
And that I understand. And now they have become her best winter friend.
BUT she could change them for a differnet style/colour from time to time.
The Duchess' genuine smile and enthusiasm mostly makes up for her poor sense of fashion. And her makeup is nice. But... her stylist, if she has one, should be fired. It's Spring - pack the boots away (far away). These floral loose dresses do not do her any favors (IMO) -- they make her look frumpy and at least 10 years older. Two piece outfits would suit her figure so much better. Why not a dark green blazer or pant suit with a pale green sweater, and an Irish scarf for the occasion. She needs a make over, from top to toe, badly before she becomes Queen. "Dress shabbily, she remember the clothes. Dress impeccably, the remember the Woman!" ..... Coco Chanel.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't spring and the weather is still very mixed at the moment in London. She looks fine to me (not high fashion but fine) - I don't think she is especially interested in fashion but I would guess from the frequency with which she wears them she prefers dresses to separates.
DeleteAnd what is an Irish scarf?

ReplyDeleteI can't say much about Prince Charles and Camilla's fashion, but it looks like they have a fun time. The costumes of the young people are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is nice enough, but a lovely pair of court shoes for example would have elevated the overall look of this dress. The boots are starting to look a little worn. Regardless the Duchess looks happy and engaging.
ReplyDeleteThe royal couple are happy and having fun. I like Charles's suit and Camilla is wearing green for the Irish. Once again Camilla's makeup is just right.(Tara)
ReplyDeleteIls sont trop choux !
ReplyDeleteCharles missed an opportunity to wear a green tie. I like that Camilla wore a green dress, even if she wore the ever-present boots with it. I had wished she would invest in a few new colors to put into rotation to give the black boots a little rest, but she appears to be married to them. If she is like Charles is with his things, those boots aren't going anywhere anytime soon. ~d
ReplyDeleteHer debooting day for 2022 may be announced by the palace.
DeleteBut they'll be back for winter 2023.
😂 Sadly, I have to agree. ~d
ReplyDeleteCamilla looks 10 years older than she is with this dress. Don't bother talking about the boots any more. I wonder what they will wear the day he becomes king.
ReplyDeleteCharles suits must at least be replaced by suits that fit. They are always better dressed at events that require evening outfits. He in a tuxedo and she in a long evening dress. When Prince Charles wear one of his uniforms he is dressed well too. For visits during the day they both need several complete new outfits.
Charles is known to keep his clothes a very loooong time, having them patched when they wear through. He has been known to wear suits with visible patches to public events. I am all for taking care of one's things and being frugal, to a point, but I think there is a time to know when to call it a day. When your trousers are ill-fitting and your jackets are stretched out, it is tile to invest in new suits. As for Camilla, I would like to see her try a new dressmaker. Her clothes look too similar and I believe there are better designs for her. ~d
