The ladies looks fabulous in their tiaras and other jewels. It seems appropriate the the Queen wears the full Cameo parure. In my opinion, Queen Silvia is the most elegantly dressed, followed by Victoria (in the gown). From a distance, Victoria's and Madeline's dresses look fine, but up close they lose it for me. Perhaps it is the many tucks and/or folds across the bodice that gives the dresses a "constrictive" feel. I like the style of Sofia's gown but the pattern is too bold. Her blue dress is very pretty and her pearl earrings are the perfect complement. The gentlemen look dashing, and the children are adorable.
ReplyDeleteSilvia is not wearing the earrings from the Cameo parure.
DeleteWow, Victoria looks regal. The future queen!
ReplyDeleteMadeleine and Sofia of course do look good, but I must say I find they look a bit like dolls?? Perhaps there is too much photoshop done?
The best photo is that of Carl Gustav, Victoria and lovely little Estelle!
I think Victoria looks angry. She tries so hard to be a "regal leader" that it becomes too much.
DeleteI also don't think it's healty for the children to be aware of their 'specialness' at such a young age.
Big risk for developing narcissism..
... You think Victoria looks "angry"? Really??
DeleteAgree or is it adventurous?
ReplyDeleteCurious to know why Madeline's husband is not in the picture. Does anyone know?
ReplyDeleteShell
Because he is not a working royal. The pictures are only of those family members who actually do royal work or will do royal work in the future (Estelle & Oscar). Therefore, Madeleine's and Carl Philip's children are not in the pictures either.
DeleteOne could also say it's the members of the Royal House who are pictured (as opposed to the Royal Family, which has more members), but the King's sister, Princess Birgitta, is also a member of the Royal House and isn't pictured.
Christopher O'Neill chose, before and at the time of his marriage, to remain a private citizen and not join the Royal Family in an official capacity nor to become a Swedish citizen. He retains his American and UK citizenships.
DeletePhotos were taken at the time when Madeleine was home quickly for a funeral. Chris was not attending the funeral, which was for a friend’s parent.
DeleteAlthough he belongs to the royal family, he is not part of the royal court (i.e. not in the line of succession). He also does not bear a title of nobility.
DeleteYes he is not a member of the Royal House of Sweden. When they got married he declined to be a Prince, so he still would be able to work as a regular person.
DeleteThese seem to have been taken for the newly redesigned website of the Royal Court so only the working members of the family who have their own pages were photographed. Plus Estelle and Oscar of course.
DeleteSo no Chris and none of CP and Sofia's or Madeleine's children.
They are all perfectly gorgeous but my favorite is the gown of Madeleine!! Stunning!!
ReplyDeleteThe photo with the less formal clothing, I am not liking the dress of Sofia, weird neckline. Madeleines dress at that photo is a dress she’s have been wearing before, when pregnant I think, and then altered. It seems like that photo was not planned for, by Madeleine, who was visiting Sweden for a funeral at the time.
Wonderful photos of the family. Love to see ladies wearing stunning tiaras and jewellery, and long evening gowns. They all look so lovely.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe that Madeleine will be 40 this year. She does not look a day over 25. Sofia looks also very lovely with her wedding tiara. Wonderful to see the Cameo tiara again on Queen Silvia.

I agree! Lovely photos!
DeleteHe is not, according to the new website, a member of the royal family.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite...Oscar!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos. Everyone, male and female looks fabulous in their formal dress. In the "day dress" photo, my favourite is CP Victoria. Lovely to see them all in their finery
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful, flattering photos. The Royal ladies look splendid, choice of jewels and gowns.
ReplyDeleteThese are spectacular photos. I like Madeleine's dress the best. Estelle looks gorgeous overall lovely to see the royal family, they all look regal. Mary
ReplyDeleteAll of the ladies look lovely; the detail on some of the dresses is beautiful. The family photo looks good. I must say Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar look pretty cute.(Tabby)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic surprise to see new photos of the Swedish royal family, including formal photos.
ReplyDeleteAll photos look great and so regal. Everyone in their best style and finery.
I like Madeleine's formal photos so much. Her dress, hairstyle, jewellery, makeup, posture and smile...wowwwww. There's something so warm and charismatic about her.
The family photo was great but I missed photo of The King and The Queen together. Also was surprised that Madeleine and Sofia didn't have brooch on their sash like Silvia and Victoria had. But overall, what a great surpsise to get new photos and so glad to see them! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful pictures but maybe too photoshopped .... look a bit like wax dolls, indeed.

I enjoyed many of the pictures, but not all; some of them look too polished.

First of all, Estelle and Oscar have such calm, relaxed and sweet look. Just makes one smile happily. Daniel is my favorite among the men. Madeleine is just stunning in her fantastic dress and with her grace. But Victoria strikes me most. What an iconic beauty and such a posture. Magic pictures.

The ladies look lovely, even though we all know photoshopped help make them all a bit lovelier or perfect than they are.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen, lovely in first gown. The 2nd gown looks a little washed out and wonder what the true color is, if it is indeed the pale, or if the color was deeper pink.
Crown Princess Victoria: classy, superbly dressed and classically beautiful in all of her dresses.
Victoria's children are precious and handsome, growing up way to quickly, and one can tell Estelle will turn into a lovely woman and Oscar into a handsome young man.
All of the men are extremely well-turned out and handsome.
Princess Madeleine: love her in the first gown, though I had seen that somewhere before, whether she wore it, or another royal, it is suited to her. The 2nd dress with the red collar is not to my personal liking, but she must like it.
Princess Sofia: The first gown was for me, just so-so. It looked a little to 'busy'. The 2nd gown was almost too plain.
I look at the background and wish I had the ability to take a tour of the palace. It must be magnificent, much like the British castles I had had the pleasure of touring.

They all look wonderful. Love the hint of purple in Sofia’s dress to complement her amethyst earrings from the Royal collection. Her blue dress complements her eyes and coloring. Victoria looks lovely. She does give a regal air. All of the men look dashing and handsome. They are a beautiful family!! Steph
ReplyDeleteVictoria's harshness gets harder each year. Maybe as she contemplates who she is truly in league with it is coming out in her appearance.
