On March 18, 2022, King Felipe and Queen Letizia attended the funeral at the Templo Novo de Santa Maria do Porto in Marin held in memory of the victims who died in the sinking of the Galician fishing vessel "Villa de Pitanxo" in Canadian waters. The vessel owned by the shipowner Pesquerias Nores sank in the early morning of February 15, 250 miles off the Canadian coast of Newfoundland with a crew of 24 men.

sad moment. dress well suited
ReplyDeleteSpain is the only country still doing the mask thing religiously!
sandy
No, its not the only one.
DeleteLucky us!
DeleteThe only one must be your country...no refugees, not problem.ir is no your problem if theyis a WAR.
DeleteAnti vaccumes... doing their jog...stay in your country...if you are Brave..
DeleteAs if you knew Spain, darling...LOL...stay away!!
DeleteSpain has learned the Corona lesson well! Exemplary Spain! Unfortunately, Germany, like England and neighbouring countries, has learned nothing at all. They all get their come-uppance.
DeleteThe royal couple looks picture perfect. Frieda
Antes no sabíamos nada, ahora si.
DeleteWhat a lot of cobblers Frieda.
Delete@Sandy I am not sure why the comment about the masks needed to be made. It was not accurate. I am in a part of the US that had one of the strictest mask mandates in the country. The mask mandate was finally lifted a few weeks ago, with the suggestion that we still mask. I can tell you that 99% of people in my area are still masking, without the mandate. The majority of people that aren't masked are the people that aren't vaccinated. Those people make it an easy decision to continue to wear masks. Spain was hit very hard by COVID and does not want a repeat of the past. No one should judge when the safety of self and others is put before anything else. ~d
DeleteQL's appropriately and well dressed for this sad occasion.

Agree. The perfect simple sophisticated black dress
DeleteI doubt that the families of this tragic accident read this blog, but I send my heartfelt condolences. Queen Letizia is impeccably dressed, but more remarkable is her obvious compassion for those in mourning.

Thank you for sharing, Angie. There is really nothing I can add. The picture says it all. 💔 ~d
ReplyDelete@Estibaliz, what are you talking about? What does the war have to do with Spain’s health protocols about masks? Frankly I don’t understand what you are trying to convey.
ReplyDeleteIn any event, why are you so incredibly aggressive?
Cherry
The Queen looks very elegant and appropriately dressed, this is a lovely dress, the detail on the sleeves adds interest to this subtle black dress. She has genuine empathy and compassion for the families. A really tragic event. My sincere condolences to the families.
ReplyDelete@Estibaliz, well, after reading your lasts comments I finally understand what you were getting at. I have no idea where the people writing on this are from, I guess you two have exchanged ideas before. I don’t entertain ridiculous feuds about masks, and least of all conspiracy theories. I follow science and sound medical advice, therefore I have the outmost respect for the Spanish monarchs. That being said, there is absolutely no need to be so incredibly aggressive in your responses, it’s very unfortunate that you can’t convey your ideas without being disrespectful, I had a question for you because I didn’t understand your comments about refugees and masks, specially since Spaniards have been wearing them since before these events. If you don’t comprehend a question, it’s a good idea to ask rather than attack people.
ReplyDeleteBest Regards
Cherry
The Queen looks very elegant as usual. Her has the most beautiful shine and the curls on the end just softens it, lovely.
ReplyDeleteWe are still wearing masks inside, Perth Australia and have just opened our borders., finally seeing people from the outside.
The opening of your borders and the arrival of visitors from other countries is good news, but you shouldn't let your guard down. Take precautions to protect yourself and others, no matter what the negationists say.

ReplyDeleteI do not agree with you. As a neighbour of Germany, the U.K. a.o. my country still follow the rules to wear masks at certain places and at certain events where many people gather. A lot of events that take place each year are put on hold because the danger is still there. We are aware that the virus is still there and that it will not go away. Now that almost everyone is vaccinated 3 times there is less danger but when there will be more patients with covid in the hospitals again the rules will become more severe as well.
In my country there are a lot of immigrants too from Africa, Asia, East Europe, etc... now with the war situation there are more than ever. There are indeed a lot of them that are not vaccinated but there are also a lot of them who wear masks all the time. There are people from Easter Europe who come to work in my country for a longer or shorter period and than go back to their country on holiday and other come in their place to take over (at least that was the situation before the war in Ukraïne). The scientists and medical doctors know that a lot of immigration causes a lot of risks. The only thing they can do is making people aware of the risks and encourage them to get a vaccine which is free for every one. The government adapts the rules all the time when necessary. For the moment they talk about the possibility to give a 4th vaccine for vulnerable people. So don't think it is only in Spain that one is aware of the danger.
