On the last day of their visit to Jamaica, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a military parade in Kingston. The Duke and Duchess were guests of honour at the Commissioning Parade for service personnel who have recently completed the Caribbean Military Academy's Officer Training Programme.
The Duke and Duchess travelled in the same Land Rover used by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh during their visits. Afterwards, The Duke and Duchess attended a reception with the newly commissioned officers and staff at the Jamaica Officers' Club.
As if attending the horse races at Royal Ascot; you'll understand it's a no for me. (despite the beautiful hat and updo which really suit the DoC).

Simply gorgeous, from toe to head. Beautiful outfit and great posture. This is how the queen is supposed to look.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! It reminds me of a retro look from QEII. and more classic bling from HM the Queen. If Im being really picky, think would have gone with a nude shoe. Zed.
ReplyDeleteKate's dress looks elegant in it's simplicity. Her overall look is obviously a bit bridal (white, lace) but it works either way. She has been wearing these new squared collars a lot on this trip. William looks good in his white uniform and they both match well as a pair, though it's the first time (and probably not the last) that I've seen the Duchess dressed to the nines and perched on the back of a moving truck. Her hat is more of the kind we are familiar with on her.

Beide sind so bezaubernd und toll, die Queen wurde mehr als gut vertreten.
ReplyDeletePerfect formal summer outfit. I know some posters don't like lace, or consider it old fashioned but this is beautiful---and I'm not usually a fan of white outfits. I'm not certain that a contrasting colour for hat and shoes, even if a pale colour, might not have improved it. In spite of it's modern silhouette, to me it has vibes of the sort of elegant formality of outfits worn by the Queen on her early Commonwealth tours. And Prince William is suitably dashing in his uniform. The use of the car used by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh is a lovely touch.
ReplyDeleteIncredible wardrobe for this tour, incredible.
ReplyDeleteDP
She's gone from prom to mother of the bride.
ReplyDeleteHer wardrobe this tour is just "off".
Her hair and makeup has been flawless but the clothing has not been well chosen.

Agree with you 100%

Could not disagree more! I think we have seen the Duchess in some of the best outfits she’s ever worn. Not only are the outfits gorgeous but she’s moved away from her regular look on several occasions The vintage sundress remains my favourite, but there’s not been a single outfit I have disliked. I think she has totally nailed it
DeleteI agree, there has been many unfortune choices during this trip. But I really liked the summardresses, with horizontal stripes and the red-white combo on airport. I like most of the time her sleek hair style, only the updo with green gown wasn't very becoming. -Siri
DeleteI disagree : Kate looks divine and royal. And if you have a historical monarchy in the 21st century, then the foundation is still protocol and dignity. And no one represents it better than K & W. ❤️🙏

My thought was at first: ,, Did she played in My Fair Lady ? "
DeleteA good choice for Ascot Racecourse, ofcours like Audrey Hepburn did)):

The Duchess looks beautiful! The fit of her clothes is always outstanding.
ReplyDeletePerfection! The best look of the trip so far in my opinion. Hair, makeup, and outfit are Kate at her best.
ReplyDeleteThis is old world glamour. The combination of the hat with the dress is just stunning. My one quibble is a cream or nude heel might have been better than the stark white heels. But to me she looks so regal in this outfit. Michelle
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Both of them!
ReplyDeleteKate and William look fantastic. On looking at the picture of the royals in the back of the landrover it looks similar to a photo when Her Majesty visited Austraalia years ago.As part of the Commonwealth;we are stronger together. What a fabulous pair so intelligent .(Tara)

DeleteYes it brings back old memories to me of the Queen making her visit/s to a Commonwealth country.
I hope the Queen gets to see these photos.
No doubt, they'd give her lots of joy.
This is gorgeous & elegant so regal. Not a fan of white shoes but Kate pulls it off well with this outfit. Live her hair sets off her hat beautifully Mary
ReplyDeleteLovely! I love those hats with the big cabbage-y flowers that she wears.
ReplyDeleteFairytale elegant!

These photos make you wonder if they realise how unwelcome they really are. The people want something else.

People will always use an event like this to protest something. Overall, this trip has been an unconditional success!
DeleteThe people are welcome to it! Pretty sure the UK is not going to shed a tear if they want a Johnson figure instead of a Her Majesty. The current prime minister has been in power for six years and hasn’t bothered to introduce a referendum. The sooner, the better I’d say! Stop with the griping and just do it!
DeleteThey aren't stupid - and they were told to their faces what Jamaica plans.
DeletePlenty of people have welcomed them and been pleased to see them despite what may happen in the future.

So gorgeous, so elegant! What a perfect ensemble for a formal day occasion in the tropics. Catherine is gorgeous in this look--never gonna be a fan of white shoes except for a bride but somehow Catherine is pulling it off.
ReplyDeleteAbsolute perfection. The DoC is obviously a very pretty woman but in all the years she has been in the public eye I have never found her to be truly beautiful. I thought she was way too thin and her features rather prematurely aged.
ReplyDeleteBut all that has changed. She is a beauty for sure, and no matter the verdict on the success of this tour she has acquitted herself magnificently in every way.
This is a gorgeous ensemble. The dress is feminine, delicate and elegant. The hat looks great, she suits this style so well. The addition of the pearl earrings and beautiful pearl three strand bracelet is a total win.
ReplyDeleteP.S Prince William looked fabulous, in uniform. Very dashing and noble. They make a wonderful couple.
Too Ascot races, too white. Design of the dress O.K. but not in lace. Like Mim said "do they realise how unwelcome they really are" ?
ReplyDeleteVery elegant. Reminds me of one of Her Majesties ensembles when she was on tour as a young woman.
ReplyDelete@ It's me!
DeleteExactly. Almost a carbon copy of a Royal visit being made by QEII in the 1950's
I hope she gets to see the photos.
What joy it should bring to her and help her to have a good night's sleep knowing that the future of the Crown is in good hands.
Yes. Retro vibes aplenty! It mirrors some of the visits and engagements of the then young Queen Elizabeth II and the late Duke of Edinburgh to an astounding extent. Also, you can clearly get the message: Look, here come the/your future King and Queen!
ReplyDeleteI have to make a comment on photo's 5-8. She glances at him, looks like he has a burp, or something is not quite right. The next photo she is smiling and within two more photos, they are both smiling brightly. This small series of glimpses into their tour, their life as a couple shows the solid relationship they have together.
ReplyDeleteThe hat, dress are lovely, elegant, and they were 'invited' to visit these countries, otherwise they wouldn't have just 'shown up', for all those who court controversy . They have done a magnificent job showing grace, kindness, elegance, and interest in every place they have visited, and the people they met. jj
