On February 16, 2022, Norwegian Queen Sonja and Crown Princess Mette-Marit attended the premiere of the movie "Margrete – Queen of the North" at Colosseum cinema in Oslo. "Margrete - Queen of the North" (Margrete den første) is about the queen who united the Nordic countries, as a great political talent who ruled with heart and head, both in difficult times and in the storms of her own life.
Queen Margrete grew up in medieval Oslo, at Akershus Castle. Margrete worked purposefully all her life to gather the Nordic countries. Margrete reigned from the late 1380s until her death in 1412. She was known as a wise and just leader who succeeded in what her male counterparts couldn’t, that is, the establishment of a long-lasting peaceful alliance between Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
Unexciting outfits but good to see them out at this event together. Like the floral skirt worn by the lady who greets them
ReplyDeleteSigh. Mette-Marit seems like a nice person, but her fashion and jewelry game is so, so weak.
ReplyDeleteLuckily, being a nice person is always more important than fashion and jewels.

Hers is maybe not the most exciting fashion, but I like it because it's never in bad taste. Her clothes and jewelry always look nice and elegant :) And her hair is always looks great!
DeleteThe Queen looks lovely in this pantsuit. Its fabulous to see both royal ladies out on a night out!
ReplyDeleteWhat does catch my eye more is the beautiful outfit worn by the lady greeting the Queen. Her splendid floral skirt and gorgeous black jacket is a stunning ensemble, combined with the black boots she looks very stylish and chic. The skirt is very pretty, with the deep burgundy? (looks to be on my screen) splashes of colour, great workmanship. I wonder where it is from?
Maybe the skirt is from Natan . Edouard Vermeulen uses this kind of stif silk to make skirts and jackets even dresses.
ReplyDeleteThey both look great. MM is reusing her Ingrid Giuliva Heritage dress and H&M x Giuliva Heritage sleeveless coat with Monolo Blahnik pumps and Victoria Beckham clutch. QS is also in reuse. Don't know who made this suit Rena Lang?, but she uses her Gravati loafers and Chanel bag. Good to see the two together out and about.
ReplyDeleteBoth the Queen and MM look lovely for the occasion they are attending. Once cannot expect them to be wearing evening gowns and dripping in royal jewelry every time they step out the door. lol.... They are just lovely, as is the lady with the beautiful skirt and black jacket with boots. jj
ReplyDeleteBoth ladies look relaxed and attentive; I like the simple neckline of CP M-M and the shade of pashmina on the Queen is flattering.
ReplyDeleteC.
The ladies both look nice, great to see them enjoying this together, but I think Q Sonya’s out is a bit more put together. The pashmina with the pin-striped pant suit works really well. I also think that I am fatigued but the black on black on black that so many wear, especially in the middle of winter. At least CP Mette-Marit’s red bag is a nice pop of color.
