On February 8, 2022, Dutch Queen Maxima paid a working visit to the clothing brand By-Bar in Breda as a member of the Netherlands Entrepreneurship Committee. The Queen spoke with various SME entrepreneurs from Breda about the impact of the corona crisis on their company and their vision for the future. The Dutch committee of Entrepreneurship is working on an advice to improve services to entrepreneurs.

I do not like this mustard colour range on Queen Maxima at all. I think she looks twenty times better in clearer colours.
ReplyDeleteShe also badly needs advice on her underpinnings and eye makeup. Those dark smudges on her eyelids and under her eyes make her look like she went to bed with all her makeup on and that's how she woke up in the morning. Those smokey eyes look lovely on a spring chicken like her daughters but tend to make ones wrinkles more obvious. Not that I think wrinkles are so bad because I always say one has earned them but still I don't think her eye makeup loks so good on her.
Her fans on the Dutch Maxima worship blog MKM consider this outfit the epithome of chic and brilliant dress sense…..LOL. They do not have a clue, same as their idol. She fits in beautifully in the Netherlands in this respect ….

IMHO this is not the way to do monochrome. Love parts of this but it really looks a mishmash of things. The necklace and skirt (ignoring wrinkles) are great but the earrings, boots’ color and draped (on or off please- pet peeve) coat suffocate it. Sweater is nice but off with skirt coloring.
ReplyDeleteEither match or change sweater color - white/cream, navy, green, burgundy or black. Keep skirt and necklace with coordinated (not necessarily matching) earrings, fab ring and bracelets and different boot color- black or deep brown. OR the skirt in a contrasting color with different earrings and boots.
Love the purse- could have inspired the outfit.

Always pleased to see Queen Maxima but not a huge fan of this outfit. The colour is too meh and there's too much of the same colour. Not altogether sure that the leather skirt does her any favours and certainly it looks odd teamed with the same coloured boots. Hopefully more of her bright and quirky outfits soon
ReplyDeleteIt is not a leather skirt but one in wool by Massimo Dutti. But you are right the camel tones don't go together. A monochromatic look can be elegant but not in this colour range. The jewelry doesn't go well together either.
DeletePas assez de contraste dans sa tenue ; je suis en manque de toutes les couleurs lumineuses auxquelles Maxima nous a habitués mais j'adore quand même la couleur de sa bague !
ReplyDeleteMustard color is good only for the mustard.

Are you talking about hot mustard or mild mustard?

I like the way Max has mixed different textures in a similar color tone, I think the ensemble looks great on her for a winter day event. Only thing I would change is the length of her necklace, IMO it shouldn't hang beyond 1 or 2 inches above the skirt waistline. Earrings are nice, but I'm sure Max has something in her jewelry box with citrine or amber that would be a better match. S.M.
ReplyDeleteOnce again this head to toe beige/camel monochromatic look is not flattering - it didn't work for Kate, it doesn't work for Maxima. It is a drab combination and makes the wearer look tired and lifeless. Note to self: don't ever try it! If it makes these beautiful and glamorous ladies look so drab I can only imagine the effect it would have on an average human like me.

I'm not sure about this combination of choices together. I love the coat and the handbag. The rest is miss for me.
ReplyDeleteHer whole look is a mess, from bad hair, to make up, to odd colors, wrinkled skirt and top...etc. She fails in each category.

DeleteJust plain sad, the icky colors of the clothing, mixing those textures together, the hair, nothing positive to see, next.
