On February 16, 2022, Dutch Queen Maxima gave a speech at the ABN AMRO head office in Amsterdam at the presentation of a report titled “The importance of inclusivity in banking”. Queen Máxima attended the event in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA).
The event and report aimed to raise awareness about the barriers experienced by different female banking client groups in the Netherlands, and to discuss how to best eliminate these barriers. The ABN AMRO report helps provide insight into the benefits of making the financial sector work better for women in the Netherlands.
NATAN Narel printed viscose top
UGH! Natan of course. Unflattering ill fitting skirt and as an added extra the one length that make Maxima's legs look like wooden poles. A wide belt to accentuate the waist Maxima does not have. Grannies blouse. I honestly think that the house of Natan goes out of its way to highlight the lesser attributes of both Queen Maxima and Queen Mathilde. Both these ladies are very tall and statuesque and can get away with very striking simple bold designs. Why do they not play up their good features instead of the not so good ones.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you totally.

So true, Nalerina.
DeleteCompletely agree. I will say I had never thought of navy with this shade of green but they do work well.

The skirt has potential (it´s just a bit too long), and I even like the (normally odd) combination of green and blue since the navy shoes and wrap are dark enough to function as a neutral complement with just a hint of colour. But that blouse is so terribly wrong with this outfit. The colour, the style, the material - everything. She needed a simple, sleek, fitted white top instead. And get rid of both the bold belt and those equally bold earrings. (And, if I want to be picky: the red nail polish and pink lipstick can go too).
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'm never overly keen on leather skirts, the colour combination here works well as do the blue cape and shoes. This is the second blouse/top from Natan worn by Maxima over the last couple of days which I really rather like! Quelle surprise!
ReplyDeleteThe lady with the white hair & camera - is she the same lady from back in November who was going to have treatment for breast cancer? She gave Máxima flowers & Máxima hugged her (Máxima said "I'll miss you."). Same jacket. Looks similar. *Regina
ReplyDeleteWhen Duchess Catherine wears a grannies blouse most people like it. The skirt is not new and not real leather. It's an A-skirt which is not good, a pencil skirt would have been better. The colours of her outfit go well together there is blue, green and even wine red in her blouse. The skirt, the cape, the shoes, the handbag match. Queen Maxima uses red nail polish since a very long time and the rest of her make-up is more or less the same. I think it is not so bad at all.
ReplyDeleteSurprisingly I love the colour combination of green and blue, it works well in this instance. The skirt is okay, be it a bit long, strangely I really like this Nathan blouse, but more so on the model, to me its very attractive. I like the navy shoes.
ReplyDeleteThe blouse ok for me. Skirt very difficult to wear...
ReplyDeleteNot a good fashion day for Queen Maxima.
ReplyDeleteLet's see what tomorrow brings.
It could be ..... wow ..... wow ....... wow.......
It's a cat and mouse game with her.
NOTE: it has been announced that Queen Maxima and King Willem Alexander will be on a state visit to Greece on the 14, 15 and 16 March.
It is a visit that was postponed from December 2021.
Usually, Maxima steals the show for gala dinners, state visits etc.
Wait and see.
Maxima is usually at her best when it comes to state dinners. It is something to look forward to! ~d
Delete@~d "something to look forward to,". I'd say yes.
DeleteBig chance that her wardrobe for the state visit will be OTT (over the top).
Can't wait.

DeleteWow, really?
How nice!!
Am looking forward to the state visit to Greece.
Evening gowns and tiaras time in sight!!
Maxima's evening dresses are so stunning.
As to this post, I am not a fan of the Queen's s outfit and makeup.
Her hair, well...well...
Her endless smile is her best feature as always.
On the other hand, I am so glad to see that lovely old lady back with her camera to capture Maxima's best moments.
I wish her a complete recovery and good health.
The colour combination blouse and skirt work really good. The skirt is indeed too long. I like the classic silk blouse and it suits QM. I would have chosen a uni colour green or blue bag; this snake print is too busy. Also the earrings too big and wrong colour
ReplyDeleteI like the color combination but the blouse is all wrong. The problem with Natan creations is that they may look interesting on the staged photos with very slim models, like in this case. If you look at the model closely, you will see that it is oversize for her and draped around her in away you will never achieve in real life. During the photo session the item is displayed artistically pinned, tucked and taped or even stiched in the right places to creat fluidity. Even the bow is tied in a way which will never work and stay in place once the model moves. That is why in real life on real women it almost never works.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with Natan is that their cut is quite poor. It may be a nice design, theoretically which is almost always poorly implemented. If you llok at picture 7, you will see that fabric is gathered rather awkwardly under the stand-up collar without consideration for the print. The effect is optically untidy and the blouse starts to buldge and creates wrong lines. And the fabric itself is wrong for this model. Viscose will never keep form, that is why the bow will always look like a shoe string and will not keep the form of the knot.
Thank you for this very interesting comment. It is really good to know details about fit.
DeleteGranny back in town, far too much makup, shinny face urghhhh.
ReplyDeleteThe skirt, the blouse, the hair, the earrings...all are equally bad.
ReplyDeleteShelley
Merry Christmas Maxima! That’s what her outfit reminds me of. Especially earrings, which look like furry little Christmas wreaths.
ReplyDeleteMrs Cleaver
I can maybe understand queen Matilde wearing Natan, since it's a Belgian business, but Maxima? The skirt is terrible on her and doesn't match the equally ugly blouse. And the caterpillar earrings? Total fail.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I'll summarize what I like: Wait ... I'm desperately looking for ... maybe pumps?
ReplyDeleteWhat is unsuccessful? 1. Hair - untreated, damaged. She probably wants desperately long hair, although the quality of her hair does not suit her long hairstyle. My grandmother used to say, "Hair is the crown of beauty." Maxima had no one to tell her about it.
2. Earrings - they are probably borrowed from a toy store from a Barbie doll. Tasteless, suitable for a circus.
3. Makeup - too shiny, lipstick too pronounced pink and those long red claws - this is how the nails of carousel girls have their nails done.
An ill-fitting skirt and a weird blouse will not save the outfit.
I think she could put in more effort because, whether she wants to or not, she represents her country.
O.K., I know that the interior of man is more important, but even that exterior is not without significance. For example - excellent food from the best ingredients would also not like you in unsuitable packaging.
