During a working meeting, the Queen received information about the school's anti-bullying policy. Subsequently, she participated in various activities aiming to raise awareness among the students about this problem. The Queen also received information about the Hippoterapi (Equine-assisted therapy) that the school uses to help children with difficulties.

Oh not another plaid pants, on a positive note Queen Mathilde is not wearing plaid from head to toe. The black leather top is not the best choice either.

The trousers are bold and I like them. As for the top....hmm, where I live we sometimes say 'she would look great even if she wore a bin bag'...maybe Mathilde heard this and decided to try putting one on!! I'm afraid it doesn't work - the fit, the material - just no! She seems engaged as usual though.

What. Is this. I have refrained from criticizing several royal choices lately because everyone has their own style. But wow.

I rely on the followers here to break it all down.

I have been wondering if the Ladies and Natan are having the biggest laugh at us.

    Hair is fab.

Oh my... more plaid and now it is with leather-look shirt. I do not think this is a good look for her.

  6. Black leather I feel is very hard to wear successfully, and in this case, I think the Queen has done the best she can with wearing this Leather top, I will leave it at that. The pants, well it is what is attractive to the wearer really, the Queen obviously must like this design and pattern, I wont comment any further. Positives: Her hair looks lovely, well groomed. From what I can make out, she seems to be wearing dangling earrings? Little black clutch a great choice. Yet another great initiative being supported by the Queen, she really does wonderful meaningful work, Well done to her.

It is about the mix at the monent - deeply personal.

  8. Oh la, la, je pourrais garder le haut en cuir souple mais pas avec ce pantalon à gros carreaux et de plus à jambes larges ; une jupe droite pourrait peut-être convenir à moins que son couturier n'en propose point ?!

    Especially the leather top!

  10. In my view this is ok, if she likes to wear that. Far from traditional clothing but ok.

Yesterday evening 24/02/2022 Queen Mathilde went to a concert in the "Concertgebouw" in Bruges. A pity until now there is only one photo where we can see only the upper half of her. According the description she wore a new navy Armani pant suit, her diamond and pearl earrings, her hair in a beautiful updo and a sparkling black clutch she took not often with her.
It is really a pity that each time Queen Mathilde is wearing one of her better outfits : Dior dresses, blazers or pantsuits from Armani, we don't see her on this blog.

The top looks as if it's a plastic bag and imo doesn't go with the soft look of the pair of trousers. Though not a fan of the flared pair of trousers, I can imagine it going very well with a soft material turtleneck.

    1. I think the problem is that the bin bag got too hot and has shrunk somewhat. Or otherwise they incorporated the pull straps as part of the design and someone pulled on them too hard.
I actually quite like the trousers though even though I generally have an aversion to tarten like fabrics. Can you imagine how nice they would look with one of her dark Armani jackets.

Agree with you on the dark Armani jacket, Nalerina. I do like this tartan print, but I'm not a fan of flared legs.

  13. I wonder if Natan, and other fashion houses, offer the use of their new designs, at discounted prices, to high profile royals with the provision that they wear the designs at official functions which are apt to be photographed. Some royal houses probably do not have unlimited funds to pay for the latest high couture. Perhaps queens and princesses are allowed a budget which limit their choices. What do you think?

The designs QMathilde wore this week were most rewairs. And yes there is a budget. But the money the Queen receives is for her representation costs and personal needs, etc... I think she is free to decide how and on what she spends it.

I think Mabel and I will be alone on this. I love this top. Mathilde has small shoulders, and this top really accentuates them. Faux leather is on trend, and this top is a classic style in a trendy fabric. It is also a good length for her. The plaid is not so busy that it makes her bottom half look much larger, and I like the colors together. ~d

I get the impression that Mathilde's top is not made of leather but of PVC coated fabric.
I really like it, even though it does not match with the trousers at all IMO.
    She rocks!
She is so beautiful and would benefit from well chosen pieces other than these plaid patterns she seems to favour.
    Her hair is fabulous.

not great pieces on anyone but completely mis-matched as an outfit. She can do so much better. Zed.

    1. Like many women in these days she likes to switch styles, this one is rather unconventional but ok for this visit. I don't see a real mis-match here.
