Queen Letizia attended a meeting named “Breaking glass ceilings: Women scientists, from the laboratory to entrepreneurship” with scientists and entrepreneurs. The meeting which took place at the National Museum of Natural Sciences in Madrid was organized by the Women and Science Group of the SEBBM in collaboration with The Spanish Association for Cancer Research and The National Museum of Natural Sciences.
The main objective of the meeting was to make visible the role of women in science, technology and business, highlighting their most outstanding contributions in these fields and showing their success stories.
HUGO Aiasa Tweed Cropped Jacket
Those leather pants aren´t a good look. I question the concept of leather pants to begin with; I doubt that it is possible to successfully style any leather pants formally (i.e. combine them with high heels and blazer); I highly question that expose zip and I find the overall length too short even for cropped trousers (which I don´t like either unless barefooted on the beach).
ReplyDeleteJacket and turtleneck top are nice, but needed a pair of simple black slacks, ideally with a straight leg. If it had to be leather (it didn´t), a skirt had been an option.
For people in a style bubble that might be so - but time goes on, we even have vaccines nowadays.!
DeleteAgree with you, Vanessa, on every point. I especially like the jacket and sweater but the trousers are ghastly. no idea what Anon 17 34 is trying to say but I guess she disagrees!!
DeleteTo anon. 17:34:
DeleteOf course I have my style bubble. And so do you. It´s called one´s taste.
My thoughts exactly Vanessa, you stole my words.
Delete@Anonymous 17:34, that was uncalled for. You can disagree while being civilised, there is really no need for such aggressive tone and personal attack on someone who expressed her opinion on an outfit without insulting anyone personally.

@22:39 there was no aggression in that fashion bubble statement. Some fashion bubbles require thick black stockings in the winter and a slightly thinner dernier in the summer, shoulder length or pixie haircuts for women approaching 50, blond rinses add lightness to their appearance, lowered hems, sturdy low heel walking shoes, and broaches pinned to the left shoulder at all times. If you are a Queen, a heavy sprinkling of the the family jewels at every event will validate the outfit. Hats and gloves are also welcome.

ReplyDeleteAye, Aye, Aye, Hugo Boss again !
ReplyDeleteActually the sweater and the bag are Reliquiae, brands for Asturias, her homeland and the pants Uterqüe, also a Spanish brand.
DeleteI am in favor of some originality when it fits the ladies wearing them. I like this one. Hugo Boss is often among my favorites.
ReplyDeleteHugo Boss is also one of my favorites. Not of the fan of the pants, but I love the blue/grey blazer worn by another lady.
DeleteI've always loved those leather culottes. The texture contrast in this outfit is fantastic. Between the leather, the soft sweater and the tweedy looking jacket.

Can't agree more.
DeleteThe Queen has chosen an outfit, which meets our time.

Pues no me agrada el largo de estos pantalones y en la primera foto la chaqueta la veo demasiado corta.
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit/look from the waist upward and professional, a look which Q Letizia usually does so well. These culottes are awful- the massive zipper draws attention “inappropriately” (couldn’t think of a more demure word). Side zip, make it a skirt or hidden zip with professional trouser cut and I’m on board.
ReplyDeleteGlo
Nothing against leather but the zipper with the ring gives a weird impression. It makes me think of something I won't say here.
ReplyDeleteThose culottes are horrible. Sorry Letizia .....please retire the "high water pants".

@Anon 17:34 "people in a style bubble" hits the nail on the head.
ReplyDeleteWhy are you agreeing with your own comment?
DeleteFredya
I totally hate this outfit as it is very odd in proportion and looks extremely uncomfortable with all the metal, but I love the pattern of the jacket. That's why I logged on. Love that pattern.

The Queen continues to shop in her closet to vary her winter looks. The theme today seemed to be 'formal casual'. Interestingly, several women have worn leather outfits at the Queen's events this week if one looks closely.
Delete@21:55 Hating someone's outfit is pretty extreme.. Culottes have been in fashion for a long time and this pair is no different than the other ones she has worn,.. in Covadonga for instance. The jacket is modeled on the style of denim jean jackets which have been finished metal buttons as a standard, These types of jackets fall at the waist or the hip so declaring that it is short speaks to a certain fashion 'innocence'.
Ana.
The style, cut and length of the leather pants, I am not a fan of. The zipper is also unappealing to me. The Tweed cropped jacket is nice, and the jumper underneath works in well, but overall this is a miss for me.
ReplyDeleteI like this outfit a lot. Leather culottes are maybe a little playful addition to this nice casual business look. _siri
