Queen Elizabeth II carried out her first in-person engagement at her Berkshire abode after celebrating her Platinum Jubilee on 6 February. On February 16, 2022, The Queen received the outgoing and incoming Defence Service Secretaries, Rear Admiral James Macleod and Major General Eldon Millar at Windsor Castle in Berkshire.
Oh mein Gott, sie hat so viel an Gewicht verloren. Sie ist so zart und zerbrechlich. Mache mir Sorgen um sie. Aber sie strahlt, ich hoffe es ist ehrlich.
ReplyDeleteYes Döni, Queen Elizabeth looks very thin now. A Daily Mail article is currently running a video where when she received these gentlemen she said "As you can see, I can't move" & so they approached her. But yes, she was quite cheerful to greet them.

Ich verstehe Ihre Reaktion, Döni!
DeleteI don't know that I have ever seen this dress. I like the pink and green print, and the pleats add extra interest. The 3-stranded pearl necklace and the pearl earrings are beautiful. Her white hair is very nicely coiffed. She looks a bit fragile but seems in good spirits. God bless this beautiful, resilient queen.
ReplyDeleteI’m struck by her fragility and her determination in equal measures! I wish her family would allow her some peace and a stress free life ! Everyday there’s something coming out about Andrew ! Now Charles ! Harry’s memoir is hanging over her like The Sword of Damocles ! It’s her jubilee year, surely the family could behave themselves and allow her to enjoy such a personal accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteAs for the fashion, HM doesn’t disappoint! I love the colors as well as the pretty pleated bottom of dress. Best and trusted pearl earrings and necklace ! Plus the Small Diamond and Pink brooch to finish off the look.
Wishing her continued strength and good health!
She has lived a full and privileged life that we can only dream of. I don't begrudge her, but she's hardly suffering in any way from Andrew's antics. Perhaps simply disappointed.
DeletePasha Kitty, yes, she has a full and privileged life, but at the same time she is ALWAYS aware of the responsibilty and duty of her role. It has a reason why so many people all over the world adore her. That is not by birth, it is by her personality. I for one admire her, and I am not british, but german.
DeleteBeing widowed is by far the most devastating thing to happen to her. She barely knew life without Philip. That alone changes a person physically and emotionally. What is going on within her family is probably no surprise to her. She is no stranger to "family issues". It is just more difficult to them keep quiet now than it once was. I don't think we should be surprised by her appearance either. At her age, she is still doing well. Her body is aging as expected. We don't know if she had COVID, but anything she ails from will take a toll on her. It is difficult to imagine a world without Queen Elizabeth II, and it is easy to place blame on all those around her for her current state. The bottom line is that she is at the end of her life and this is what it looks like, as painful as it is. She has lived a very full life and seen almost a century of history. This remarkable woman has been, and will always be, an example to all. In what time she has left, we honor her for service to her country and to the world. ~d
Delete@ Coralie, I do Admire Queen Elizabeth also and I am not British or German. I am Luxembourger.
DeleteAva
Her Majesty looks lovely that style of dress is lovely, simple elegance .Her Majesty is a little dynamo
ReplyDeleteShe seems to shrink a little more every time we see her. The UK press has been speculating wildly about her catching Covid. Good for her for proving them wrong! God bless the Queen
ReplyDeleteOh wow!, what wonderful strength and spirit the Queen has, bright and chirpy, bless her. All that she has endured especially the last 12 months and she has the most splendid smile, and quick wit, her interaction with her visitors on this occasion. The three strand pearl necklace looks divine. Beautiful brooch on her left shoulder, its hard to tell if its Amethyst and diamonds. The dress looks lovely, I love the pattern of the fabric. The pleating at the bottom adds interest. Her Majesty looks beautiful. God Bless you Ma' am. xx
ReplyDeleteYou are so very right, Ava.
DeleteCompletely agree about the amazing Q Elizabeth II Ava, God bless her. On the fence about the print but the colors are beautiful on her and the dress style with pleats is a a lovely, interesting design.
DeleteHer brooch is a pink sapphire with diamond surround that belonged to her Grandmother Q Mary.

Glo 0.140, Thank you very much for that, I couldn't quite make out what stone it was.
DeleteI watched the video of her greeting the men, she sounded not quite herself in the voice and you could see her struggling a bit to catch her breath. She also admitted to not being able to move well, indicating her left leg foot area, but from a photo I saw the other day on another site, she had a large bruised looking area on the lower left leg. God bless her, for getting on with her 'job in life' and still look good, and in a dress I havent' seen before. Anne
ReplyDeleteI doubt she is a dynamo; she said at the audience herself that she cannot move. She only shuffled forward a bit (UK news). - I like her pearls that she always wears, and the young hyacinths in a bowl by the books. - Ellie
ReplyDeleteThis dress is a little different than her usual style, nice print & color combination. She still looks good for a woman her age, one can’t help but notice how much she’s aged in just one year, although not uncommon at this point in her life, it seems that she looks more frail by the week. Beautiful and remarkable woman!!
ReplyDeleteCherry
This is a lovely dress for the Queen. It fits her well now that she became so fragile.
ReplyDeleteMy Queen - the original and the best! It's sad to see her beginning to look her age, she always seemed to defy her years before.
ReplyDeleteI like this dress, could see Catherine wearing something of this style. Love the pearls.
God bless her!

I do not know how explain that, but whenever I see Queen Elizabeth, I am touched and happy at the same time and think: if I were in that same room, I would instictively hug her!
ReplyDeleteShe is still suffering quite a lot, but She is there, resilient and always true to her sense of duty.
A unique Lady and Queen.
God bless.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely lady! It is sad that she finally showing her age--quite frail and thin. Still, she is so dynamic in these photos. Love her dress--its very pretty and feminine, just like HM. The choice of the pink sapphire brooch is perfect!
