King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium are paying an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates. The first stop of this official visit is the Sultanate of Oman where the King and Queen are received in the cities of Muscat and Duqm. Yesterday, on February 2, the King and Queen arrived in Muscat. The focus of this visit is Oman's transition to green energy and the cooperation between the two countries in that field.
On February 3, 2022, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde were welcomed by the Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq and Royal family members with a state ceremony held at the Al Alam Palace in Muscat.
Today, on the second day of their visit, the King and Queen attended the official opening of the port of Duqm and visited Hyport which is a large-scale production site for green hydrogen. Both projects are the result of Belgian-Omanian cooperation.
Natan again! Will they ever learn to sew properly? The hem is uneven and the top is pulling over the bust at the opening. Other than that I would have found it one of his near successes.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is a rewair. The hem of the dress is longer in the back than in the front. I saw other queens and princesses wear dresses and skirts like that, but I don't like it either. The big belt is not a good idea for queen Mathilde. This kind of dress fits only women with a thin waist and who are flat in the bust area like the model. I like the pattern of the fabric.
DeleteEl vestido es muy bonito. Pero la reina tiene el talle muy alto para cinturones anchos. De todas formas esta bella
ReplyDeleteStylish dress, but I think the belt is too much with the busy print, and maybe the fabric is a bit stiff ? Lovely colour on the calot hat and the shoes.

Natan forgot to send her a mask that matches the pattern of her dress

On the 6th photo where she is sitting down, she wears a mask made of the plain part of the fabric.
DeleteUn modèle très frais que Mathilde a déjà porté ; je pense que sa silhouette serait beaucoup plus flattée si la boucle était remplacée par une moins grosse et dans un tissu ton sur ton !
ReplyDeleteThere should be a law against wearing Natan in public.

you have my signature immediatly
DeleteMathilde looks lovely here. I like the dress - the colours are pretty, and it looks cool, crisp and fresh for Oman's warm climate; Mathilde's minimal hat and clutch are perfect in this regard as well. I'm also liking the rich colours and fabrics of the Omani mens and womens robes.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there will be some sort of a State dinner for this visit.

Thank you for adding photo's with the Sultana of Oman (or Princess ?) don't know how we should call her. Both dresses are beautiful the green reminds us of emerald gems. The burgundy and read dress looks like the colour of rubys.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 2/2/22 20:53 must not be afraid Queen Mathilde is insulting the Sultana now that she is wearing a very western dress !!!
What an ugly dress! It does nothing for her.

La Princesse Mathilde est charmante dans cet ensemble rose poudré, la jupe a une très jolie coupe, mais la ceinture n'est pas indispensable.

This dress has the signature Natan giant belt and buckle, a horrible mistake for Mathilde. Being short waisted, the belt and buckle are sitting right under her breasts. I like the wrap effect of the bodice. It is more elegant than buttons. Natan has a love of stiff fabrics, and taffeta is stiff. Maybe it is tissue taffeta, which isn't too bad. I don't like seeing Mathilde's skirts standing out, which emphasizes her hips. Softer fabrics are better on her. The hi-low hem isn't necessary. ~d
ReplyDeleteQueen Mathilde looks good but she can do better . I like the color and print of her dress . The Sultanah of Oman looks fabulous .
ReplyDeleteThe Queen looks beautiful, I love her choice of accessories. I do feel the dress is a problem with either the cut of the dress or fit. The fabric does not seem to be very pliable.
ReplyDeleteAn outfit with so much potential which falls sadly short. I like the 50s vibe with the wide skirt, short sleeves and the neat hat, gloves and clutch. The bodice of the dress is badly fitted and the huge belt buckle and dangling end just spoil the whole look. If it was a plain top with a neat belt and the pattern only on the hem, how much better this would look!
ReplyDeleteYikes!!! Natan strikes again! That belt is...awful. The dress is sadly ill-fitted to Mathilde and is not doing her any favors. There is a lot about this dress that would work if there was less of it. I do like the pattern on the skirt. Somehow Mathilde still manages to look lovely and her accessories are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe lady Sultana of Oman looks beautiful, poised and elegant in her traditional garb. The emerald green veil under the deep green caftán looks wonderful and the peek of purple colour provides an exquisite touch.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of this dress, it is just executed so poorly. The shirtdress in theory is so classic and classy, but this is a disaster. Doesn't fit correctly at all. Plus, that belt needs to go in the dumpster. I'm also not a fan of the color of the accessories.

Lovely outfit!!
ReplyDeleteThe Queen looks lovely, however, the dark color of the hat, does not go well with the light colors in the dress, even though it matches the bag and shoed. Another lighter color would have been more enhancing.
