On Thursday 10 February, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden attended the theater performance Mammorna (The Mothers) at the Stadsteatern (Stockholm City Theatre). "The Mothers" is a co-production by Riksteatern and Kulturhuset Stadsteatern Stockholm and was written by Alexandra Pascalidou.
"The Mothers" is based on the true stories of the working class, mostly migrant mothers living in the most marginalized and stigmatized suburbs in Sweden. It tells the story of 21 mothers of young men killed by gun violence. After the performance, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel met with performers and congratulated them.
On Friday 11 February, Crown Princess Victoria attended a meeting with Mikael Eriksson, former ambassador to Tallinn, and Isabella Törngren, Deputy Head of the European Unit at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. At the meeting, the Crown Princess received information about the situation in the three Baltic states.

ptheoriginial, this is a blog about fashion, not about 'reportedly' by some unknown. I find the comment about this lovely couple rude. IF they have had a few disagreements in their marriage, so what? All couples have sources of disagreements, they work through them and move on, however, this is was a gossipy statement, not born of anything remotely to do with fashion. Anne

There isn't anything rude, nor I said I believe that gossip.
There are tons of rumors about Charlene and Albert but I never intruded in what people were saying about them on this blog the way you do.
I perfectly know what this blog is about and I am surprised at your being quiet when some people body shame CP Stephanie for example.
This being said, I only find a bit odd the way Daniel is so smiling in these past few visits considering that he has looked to me as a rather introvert and shy man so far.

DeleteThere was no reason to say that, it had nothing to do with anything, except your need to say it. Daniel has been smiling more, and it looks more natural to me, not a forced smile, so if anything its that he is just more comfortable in his position, so the gossip you repeated was just not very nice. I love this casual look of Victoria and Daniel. Victoria's jacket is gorgeous and goes well with her black turtleneck top and skirt (or is it a dress?). The black boots finish the look perfectly. Daniel's all black ensemble (with turtleneck to match Victoria's) is terrific. In the last set of photos Victoria is seen in the jacket from her blue pantsuit. Although the jacket seems too large for her, it works well with the blue/white/black blouse and black pants.

ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful Houndstooth black and white jacket. Its so versatile, equally lovely worn with pants. She looks fabulous. The Royal blue blazer is wonderful, gorgeous colour, it looks smart and chic.

ReplyDeleteI do not like comments about the couples relationship. What I have noticed is that in the last number of photo's, Daniel appears more natural, more at ease, which comes with increasing confidence in his personal life. clare
ReplyDeleteI also noticed how much more relaxed Daniel seems to be and thought he must be feeling more confident in his role. I also remember when the Duchess of Cambridge suddenly appeared much more relaxed and confident, almost overnight. On a fashion note, what drew me to the photos was Daniel's outfit, he looks great, especially in the first photo. Elle.

For awhile now (and before the rumor) he has been smiling with his mouth opened. Could this explain the change?

ReplyDelete"Pressarna" has been insisting on these rumors of divorce lately, so that the Royal Palace tried to stop the insuing hubbab through a public statement from the Press Officer who denied a divorce.
A lot of international papers- including " El Pais"- and magazines reported this gossip.
I have read that Prince Daniel has received an honorary doctorate from the Karolinska Institutet recently, so this could explain his satisfaction and smiles.
I truly wish CP Victoria and P Daniel all the best for them both and their kiddos. I also hope all is well for him on the health front. To be in the royal fishbowl (where there seems to be no line between private and public sometimes) and have press write whatever they choose (true or not) seems such a challenge. If my husband and I (coming up on 28 years) have an off day, disagree or are wrestling through something, as all married couples do, we don’t have people taking tons of pics and analyzing our “body language” in the press. The most we have are loving in-laws (on both sides) who want to dive in the middle to “help”- even if things are fine. These two have worked so faithfully for Sweden and have such a sweet little family. Truly all the best for them.
ReplyDeleteOn the fashion front I love the houndstooth print but feel the jacket is too long/bulky with this wide skirt/dress.
The blue suit is a great color. I do not care for the locations of the top 2 buttons and wish the jacket was either a size smaller (looks a bit oversized in the shoulders) and/or a little more tailored/fitted.
