On the occasion of Queen Margrethe's 50th anniversary of accession to the throne, Billed Bladet visited Christian IX's Palace in Amalienborg for an exclusive interview with the Queen. During the interview, the Queen spoke about her 50 years on the throne, Prince Henrik, her sons, her daughters-in-law, her grandsons, her life right now and the future.
Because of the latest developments in the coronavirus situation and the recommendations of the health authorities, the Royal House of Denmark had postponed the major celebrations to be held on January 14 for the 50th anniversary of Queen Margrethe’s accession to the throne.
A new stamp was also released to mark the anniversary. PostNord issued the new stamp sheet on January 2 that involves three stamps to mark the Queen’s Golden Jubilee. The 1972 photo was taken by Rigmor Mydtskov, and the new photo was taken by Tine Harden. The design of the stamp and engraving was done by Martin Mörck.
La touche de couleur turquoise qui éclaire le gris de son tailleur/jupe lui va à merveille ; j'adore sa broche - Magnifiques timbres ; elle est toujours aussi belle même si l'âge est là !
ReplyDeleteI have never seen Queen Margrethe look prettier. Think of all the memories she has to cherish!
ReplyDelete@FITZHUGH Agreed. Lovely combo of colour and jewels.
DeleteLong live Queen Margrethe.
Queen Margrethe looks wonderful. Her blouse is a perfect match to her turquoise jewels. Very pretty. The stamps are very nice too.

ReplyDeleteLovely, Queen Margaret never looked better. At Peace, it shows how well she has moved on. Herself and Family. Gratulation on the Event . The stamps for sure Esquisit.🇩🇰🇺🇸🙏🤩🍷
ReplyDeleteHow come you always misspell the names of the people you are writing about. A proper name cannot be translated. There are examples enough of other bloggers how to spell the name of Queen MARGRETHE. It is not Margaret. Margaret is an English name, Margrethe is a Danish name.
DeleteIt´s interview time amongst royals :-)
ReplyDeleteThe turquoise looks great on her.
I love the stamps! If I knew someone in Denmark I'd ask them to send me a sheet. I love that she's wearing the same parure and hairstyle.

The Stamps are a stunning set, side profiles are superb, she looked divine. Love the jacket and blouse she is wearing, beautiful colours combined.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I looked at this series of photos, I didn't notice the dog. It is adorable. In the written description under the first few photos, I noticed that it was said that Queen Margrethe "spoke about Prince Henrik, her sons, her daughters-in-law, her grandsons...." Surely that is incomplete because I can't imagine her neglecting to mention her granddaughters too.
ReplyDeleteshare all your enthusiastic remarks of this stylish and extraordinary Queen.
ReplyDeleteHow exquisite the stamps!

Queen Margrethe looks so lovely. I really like the gray/turquoise combo with her deep red lipstick color and she is wearing her hair more softly at times recently. Great continuity with the jewels in the engravings and such a regal older pic used, I like how it honestly shows signs of her age which shows her lifelong commitment to Denmark.
