Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway attended a Thanksgiving Service held at Oslo Cathedral

On January 9, 2022, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway attended a Thanksgiving Service held at Oslo Cathedral in memory of South African Archbishop, activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Mpilo Tutu. Desmond Tutu died of cancer at the Oasis Frail Care Centre in Cape Town on December 26, 2021 at the age of 90.

Desmond Tutu, known as the "Arch", received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984 for his fight for justice and against apartheid. He was the first black African to become archbishop and head of the Anglican Church in South Africa. He held this position until 1996.
