On December 8, The Duchess of Cambridge hosted a Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey, supported by the Royal Foundation, to recognize and celebrate the incredible work of individuals and organizations across the nation who have stepped up to support their communities through the pandemic. The Duke of Cambridge, the Countess of Wessex, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Mike and Zara Tindall attended the "Together at Christmas" community carol service.
The event brought together inspirational individuals including charity workers, volunteers, teachers and emergency responders from across the UK who have worked to care for and protect the people in need during the pandemic. People with limited social connections, the recently bereaved or those without their own homes also attended the service.
This is Catherine at her very best: a bright, chique, fitted robe-manteau in Christmas red.
ReplyDeleteLove the red velvet shoes also.
How good of the other members of the RF to join this event:
Sophie: lovely, in Christmas colours also; a very good pair of trousers and lovely
green silk blouse.
Beatrice is dressing better and better ( the influence of her handsome husband?) she wears a lovely coat in a beautifull colour matching the colour of her hair.
Eugeny: emphasizes her shortness: that is a pity.
Zara: cannot see it very well.
Wish them within their family a very happy Christmas at the end of a too troubled Year,
Josh
Lady in Red, Kate looks great &, the colour is,appropriate for the Christmas season. I am not sure if this is a dress or coat dress nevertheless, I do like it. Her hair is glossy & luscious looks beautiful. I like Eugeine's cape. I will give Sophie's outfit the thumbs down. The coat & pants are hideous. Mary
ReplyDeleteCatherine looks absolutely gorgeous! Clothes, hair, earrings - so beautiful! But Eugenie also looks very good. Sophie not so...
ReplyDeleteKate and especially Beatrice look amazing. That fawn color is incredibly flattering to Princess Beatrice, who has been looking so lovely since the birth of her daughter.

ReplyDeleteSophie's coat looks like a bathrobe. Not a good look for anyone.
ReplyDeleteThe women looked lovely, however Sophie wore her bathrobe coat which made her appear sloppy, and Catherine's new sister in law wore a sporty plaid outfit, not uncommon for a misstep the first one or two times in the public eye, but this was an eyesore outfit. The men looked dapper. Especially loved Beatrice's outfit and shoes, she is looking so lovely these days. Eugenie's outfit also looked quite chic.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous red dress for the Duchess but best look is Princess Beatrice who looks fantastic in her fifties style coat and shoes. Countess Sophie still has the unfortunate coat from earlier and seems on the casual side. I wish Princess Eugenie's cape coat was longer--it's a great colour but too short to be flattering. Lovely to see the cousins coming together to support this event.
ReplyDeleteCatherine looks very striking in red but I really wish she would stop playing with her hair, it looks unprofessional.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice looks lovely in the fawn coloured coat, it's nicely tailored.
Eugenie, nice green colour and it suits her.
Sophie, looks underdressed as though she's come from a meeting.

On another site I read that her the wind caused her hair to become tangled in her earrings.
DeleteKate strikes again in a beautiful red version of the black coat she wore at Prince Philippe's funeral (at least the neckline is the same, with the mega bow). While I like the colour very much, I think the cut is wrong for her body shape, it elongates her torso to almost ridiculous proportions. It reminds me of the red&black drop-waist dress she wore some months ago - didn't like that one and don't like this one either. She looks better in A line, cut at the waist. She needs to break the long line of her body which makes her look even thinner than she already is
ReplyDeleteI didn't quite understand what exactly was her role in this event - hosting what?? It is a service in a church....
Lady S*
The concert was supported by the Royal Foundation and to thank community workers and forces personnel, all of whom the Duchess has worked with closely during the pandemic. You can see the order of service online which gives more details. She has done the organising along with the various clergy
DeleteIt is not a service but a concert--of Christmas carols, particularly--which she organized and hosted on behalf of the Royal Foundation. It was her event and as a result she was center-stage. She looked lovely and seemingly very happy.

Catherine looks stunning, Beatrice looks beautiful and so happy, Eugenie looks pretty and I love the cape--the green is a great color for her, from what I can see, Zara looks great, and Sophie has a beautiful blouse paired with lovely trousers but her coat--sorry, it still looks like a cheneille bathrobe. I love that Catherine's family joined her for the service too. I know this is a Christmas event but how sweet that William is wearing a red tie--he could have chosen green but he mirrored his wife's choice of Christmas red.
ReplyDeleteDoC is STUNNING! And Eugenie looks fabulous! Everyone else is ok :)
ReplyDeleteWell I'm in the minority here because I love Sophie's coat. I love the WAY she has worn it...without doing up the tie belt. On the model it certainly looks like a bathrobe, but worn open, and flaring behind Sophie with her cream trousers and green top, it looks great, especially the colour and texture.
ReplyDeleteI also like Beatrice's and Eugenie's outfits though I wish Eugenie's was a little longer because it makes her look stumpy when short.
Kate is....just Kate. More of the same. Nothing unusual.

About Kate : exactly my thoughts
DeleteOf all the others I just liked Zara's tweed coat, the slim trousers, the high heels and a young haircut.
A pity we can't see Pippa very well.
I love the color of Kate's dress but the silhouette isn't the most flattering for her figure. I like the red velvet pumps. I love Eugenie's cape. The shade of green looks great with her coloring. I like Zara's coat and shoes. Beatrice looks good. I think the fit of her coat is slightly off in the waist.
ReplyDeleteE.B.B.
Kate is in a red version of the coat she wore for Prince Philip's funeral. It is a beautiful coat. She has accessorized with the Queen Mother's sapphire and diamond fringe earrings. I adore Zara's outfit. Every piece, head to toe, is perfect. She must love not have imaginary restrictions imposed on her by armchair royal experts. Beatrice and Pippa appear to have worn the same coat, Pippa's in a dark green. It is flattering on both. I wish Eugenie had worn a longer dress. It would have been more flattering. Her cape would have still worked. Sophie's coat looks much better on this outing. The green blouse and winter white trousers are a nicer match to the burgundy. I like that she has worn it open. That said, it is still a corduroy coat, and would look cute styled in a casual way, not so much for an event like this. ~d
ReplyDeleteEugenie and Zara have very stylish outfits, my favourites this time. Kate's dress has a nice colour, but the cut does not flatter her body. Beatrice's coat would look even better if a bit shorter. Sophie's outfit has nice colours, but trousers are a tad too short and the coat unfortunately looks like bathrobe. - Siri
ReplyDeleteGreat to see all the young royals together. I like Kate's red dress; would look nicer with black shoes or even green suede shoes, not red. Great to see Count and Countess Mapelli Mozzi. Interesting that Kate is hosting the Christmas Carols; under protocol, it should have been the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are hosting the carols.
ReplyDeleteCatherine and William looked good, Princess Bea and Eugenie looked well and Sophie looks too sporty in her bathroom coat. The rest of the outfit was just thrown together and did not look good. Annie
ReplyDeleteCatherine’s dress is fabulous and so are her shoes, however I do think that this silhouette emphasizes her very long torso, nevertheless stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love Beatrice coat, such unique color and glamorous retro vibe, generally I don’t care much for platform shoes, but somehow they work well with the outfit.
Eugenie’s coat is very cute on the model and would probably be great worn by a teenager, but it’s way too short and the boots below the knee are a miss for me.
Oh Sophie!! Those nice winter white pants combined with a coat that not only is not pretty but also too sporty, the blouse is OK, but again spoiled by the coat, and the lack of proper undergarments, somebody should tell her to get a good brassiere.

Kate is superb, and as much as I can see is Zara outstanding in her combination of sleek pants and coat. This time is Beatrice eye catcher too, very elegant and youthful.
ReplyDeleteToo much Christmas puddings for Beatrice and Eugenie.
ReplyDeleteCatherine Sophie and Zara looks fantastic and fits!
Another one of your rude comments. Both Beatrice and Eugenie look fine and certainly don't look as if they have been over indulging in Christmas pudding! Try dragging yourself kicking and screaming into the 21st century where there is no place for your pathetic sexist body shaming.
DeleteYour English is bad as well...
Bob
Are you body shaming? Is that your intent? Shame on you. Your pathetic attempt at humor falls flat. Wrapping an insult in a lame joke doesn't make it acceptable. ~d
DeleteYour comment is offensive. Your body shaming the Princesses. This level of rudeness is a reflection of your nature, nasty.
DeleteBad English and a bad heart.
DeleteWOW what a vibrant wonderful colors !!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe bright red, bottle green, poisonous green, copper colour, even the purple coat, what a feast to watch!
Love her earrings (DC), wow and yes stick with the red shoes( no green).
Wish everybody a wonderful Christmas time!!!!!
-Anna-
@ Mr W, are you insinuating that Beatrice & Eugenie are overweight? I seriously hope that you aren’t, first because it’s absolutely not true by any healthy standards. Secondly because shaming people about their bodies is wrong and unnecessarily mean.Thirdly because if you trying to be humorous, you really aren’t.

Magnifique Catherine sur la photo numéro 5, la plus belle, ses clips de diamants et saphir sont très beaux
ReplyDeleteSa tenue rouge, avec le haut foulard cravate est très seyante,
MARIAMAR
DOC looks fabulous, red is definitely her colour. The outfit looks stunning, I love the bow on the collar, it adds interest. The sapphire and diamond earrings are divine.

DeleteMy thoughts exactly.
Eugenie and Beatrice are so lovely and glam too.
Although I am not a fan of corduroy, Sophie's belted coat is well tailored and she looks beautiful in her white pants and shoes.
A display of festive colours.

Catherine usually makes no mistakes in outfits, however, this dress did not quite suite her, in this color. I know she wore something similar in the past, and it looked appropriate for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteSophie looked as if she did not have time to change from her sporty outfit into something appropriate.
The sisters, Bea/Eugenie, both looked spot on as did Zara and Mrs. Middleton. The plaid pant suit on the sister-in-law was not quite suited to the occasion, however it might have looked better in person. jj
Stunning dress that the DoC is wearing (I particular like the bow at the top), but it emphasizes her long figure too much and that's why I don't like the dress/figure proportions
ReplyDeleteMCS
Kate - beautiful color, hair, everything. She represents the royal family without flaws, including dressing.
ReplyDeleteIt is a pity that the author did not give pictures of other prominent visitors to this event - the Middelton family. I saw them in some newspaper. I know they are not members of the royal family, but they were together at one event at the same time and their outfits were very inspiring. For me, Pippa Middleton's Coat was the best of all (cut, color). Next time If photos of Kate and William are taken with the president of a somecountry and his wife, what will you do? Will You cut them out of the picture because they are not "royal" ?
Stephanie
Although I would love to have seen pictures of the other guests as well, comparing Catherine’s family to presidential guests is not equivalent.
ReplyDeleteCB
so, let's start with fashion :-)
ReplyDeleteWe couldn't say that often, but today's best dressed royals in my eyes:
Eugenie and Beatrice
I like both looks a lot, Eugenies a bit more than Beatrice.
Also very nice is Zara Tindalls style :-)
only on 4th place is Kate, this coatdress is not that bad, the colour is nice, but it misses a bit of shape in my eyes and she looks very, very thin in it, especially with the not perfect fitting length of the dress.
The Middleton-Ladies Pippa and Carol look fantastic, for me the winners together with Beatrice and Eugenie.
the other end of the list..
omg, what did Sophie think?
I usally love her style a lot.
But today I guess she searched clothes in the dark. And it was not her closet.
The trousers are not that bad but could fit a bit better.
The shirt has a nice colour and fabric, but it also doesn't fit good.
The coat does not fit anything at all. I don't like the colour in combination with the green shirt and I really, really hate the fabric. Please burn that coat.
I was really suprised that this coat is from Victoria Beckham, because I usally like her fashion. But this: no. no. no!
talked so much about the fashion, forgot to talk about the other things :D xD
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, that Kate's family is there, too :-) They seem all to be here.
Need to check to another side to get a glimpse on Kates sister-in-law's outfit, didn't see it here.
And how great how the cousins and Sophie came to support the service, nice!
Sadly we don't see Sophies daughter, would love to see her on such occasions, but maybe she's not false in staying private instead of accepting the royal title now.
But I really would love to see her with the princess-title.
And did we see lovely Tom Felton in one of the pics??
The Middletons : Pippa very lovely in her green coat. (Same cut as Beatrice's coat, but Pippa looks so much better in this than Beatrice). However the dark purple is a very good colour for Caroll, her coat is too long. It doesn't suit her.
