The Nobel Prize ceremony took place at Stockholm City Hall on 10 December, the anniversary of Alfred Nobel’s death. Swedish Royals, including King Carl XVI Gustav, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, were present at the ceremony. The Nobel Prize in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature and the prize in economic sciences were awarded to the Nobel Prize laureates during the ceremony. The Crown Princess wore a specially designed dress by Swedish designer Pär Engsheden.

Love Queen Sylvia's dress. Very elegant and fitting fr this special occasion. Also like that King Carl Gustaf's tie matches her colours.
ReplyDeleteVictoria's dress is suitable austere in an appropriately formal way . The brooch at the hip makes for a nice detraction from the full black. Her dress fits her perfectly; I like the neckline and hip tuck.

Agree, I would love CP Victoria’s look even more in a deep navy or violet. The black is nice but just looking for that little extra.

Agree on all points.
DeleteVictoria's hair looks very nice in these pics.
ReplyDeleteI understand that it´s all downscaled this year, different venue, no banquet, no white tie dress code etc. Still, I´m disappointed. It´s just not the same. Kudos to Silvia for wearing a floor length dress and bringing some glamour. Victoria´s dress really needed to be a different colour, ideally some deep jewel tone (navy blue, burgundy, forest green or something). This black dress, albeit very elegant + stunning in its simplicity + fitting her well, looks depressing.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Queen Silvia looks absolutely beautiful, and CP Victoria looks like she is going to a funeral. I mean, the dress is lovely. Perhaps I'm just missing the glamour that this occasion usually presents.

I simply love the pattern, colors, and flow of the gown the Queen is wearing. I equally love the dress Victoria is wearing, understated but very regal. gemma
ReplyDeleteCrown Princess Victoria's hair is so beautiful. This is the kind of updo she needs. The black dress is simple but elegant. The way the skirt is draped is rather unusual. I like Queen Silvia's velvet gown. The deep and light blue colours suit her very well. The blue shoes are matching the outfit. MJ
ReplyDeleteCPV: Wow! Maybe her best outfit this year!!! And her her hair! Excellent!
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia: Not my favourite, not classy enough for the occasion, too cozy.
Anna
I think Qn Silvia's dress is fine, but her makeup is too colorless, particularly the lipstick.
DeleteI miss the other royals, the tiaras, and formal dresses but I totally understand the reason why they are all missing. Scaled down version this year. The royal ladies look nice. Not terribly fond of either outfit, but they fit them both well and they look nice. Claire
ReplyDeleteBoth dresses look lovely - Silva brings a bit more glamour.
ReplyDeleteVictorias dress reminds me of the 40-50 ies, It's nice and elegant - but serious in black colour.
Don't like Daniels knots- too thin and strange. Learn from the King how to tie it ; - ) he's extremly welldressed, always.
CP Victoria´s dress is designed as a hommages to NKs Franska. NK is a major department store in Stockholm and they had a couture department. At the moment there is an ongoing retrospective exhibition in Stockholm of dresses made by theses couturiers.

Queen Silvia's dress/gown is nothing more than stunning ... love her look ... hair and make up as well ...
ReplyDeleteThe Queen and CP Victoria look fabulous. The Queen's velvet gown is luxurious and the colors are beautiful, but she looks rather melancholy. Victoria's dress is one of the better ones she's worn all year, and, as others have mentioned, her hair is beautifully done. I love how Victoria's hand rests on Daniel's arm. I was hoping for the Nobel banquet so we could enjoy all the gowns, tiaras, and other jewels.
ReplyDeleteVictoria wears an impressive elegant dress!
ReplyDeleteThe volume of her hair makes her a feminine, “ grown-up” woman,
Love it.
I am less impressed by The Queens dress; may-be when the skirt were shorter, it would be better.
Josh
Love both looks and would like to know more about V's earrings!

I too am so disappointed there will not be a huge gala celebrating the awards as in the past years. The ladies always gave lots of glamour. Maybe next year!
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia looks superb, regal and elegant, love the gown, beautiful array of colours. Her shoes and evening clutch were the perfect choice. CP Victoria looks stunning. Love the addition of brooch at her hip level, gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSublimes les boucles d'oreilles pendantes - Elles donnent un élégant port de tête à Victoria . avec son magnifique chignon, c'est parfait !
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia is wearing very unusual earings - the left one has got blue and green stones and the one on the right - pink and orange. Never seen them before.

MARIAMAR
Love the queen’s gown. She always looks stunning. What a shame Victoria hasn’t inherited the style prowess from her mum.

Love the Queen's gown; does anyone know the maker of the garment?
ReplyDeleteI love Queen Sylvia's dress. The richness of the color of the velvet and the sparkle from the Applique trim somewhat make up for the absence of a tiara and necklace. I like P. Victoria's dress but I wish it were a deep rich wine or green. Black is elegant but I would have preferred a color. They are both gorgeous.
