On December 6, 2021, Queen Sonja and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway attended the funeral service of Karen Christine (Kim) Friele at Oslo Cathedral. Karen Christine Friele, known as Kim Friele, was a Norwegian human rights activist. In 2000, she was appointed a Knight 1st Class of the Order of St. Olav. In 2005, she was proclaimed the fourth most important Norwegian of the century as a result of a public vote conducted by NRK. She died at her home on 22 November 2021, aged 86.
Mette's Alice-headband looks too flimsy, and she would have looked far better with her hair tied up in a bun or similar. The Louboutin shoes are not walking shoes by any stretch of imagination, and they are a mismatch with her excellent winter coat, and even more so with thick stockings. Boots would have been better, and consistant with a winter look. - Ellie
ReplyDeleteEllie really? In an occasion like this we shouldn't talk fashion, but celebrate Kim Friele the first open lesbian woman in Norway. Who had an enormous impact for the figth for equality for the LGBTQ community. Who worked hard and was a contributor to changing penal code criminalizing homosexual acts being repealed in 1972, and homosexuality being abolished as a psychiatric diagnosis in 1978. A woman the hole of Norway admired for what she stood for. And going down your path seriously you mean MM Prada silk headband is wrong, but you don't mention Sonjas headband..if you are gonna go the fashionista way why don't you give MM credit for wearing her Marc Jacobs coat that is at least 18 years old.
DeleteCould we focus on less of what she wore? This should be focused on the life celebrated.
ReplyDeletePaula Dillon. I think the comments should focus on the event. Mette Marit looks elegant as usual
ReplyDeleteDes look appropriés à cet événement même si je pense que Mette-Marit aurait pu porter des bottes afin de correspondre à son élégant manteau d'hiver !
ReplyDeleteWell I do not agree. There are websites that focus on what Kim Friele did and advocated, and they talk about her life. This blog here is a fashion blog, and we talk about fashion and what people wear. It may well be that you think differently, but it does not in any way mean that I should share your view or I should be doing something not right. - Ellie
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, yes, really; this blog is not about lesbianism or human rights. And yes, Mette's headband is too flimsy as it's very narrow, and Sonja has a much wider headband. I did give credit to Mette's coat; I wrote it's an excellent winter coat. I did not know what brand it is or how old, and that is irrelevant; it is an excellent winter coat. - Ellie
ReplyDeleteYou do realise that for every comment you make you say more about yourself and what you stand for then you probably want...
DeleteI absolutely realize that my comments reflect my thinking, and I am pleased that they do. I am doing nothing even remotely wrong here, and I am very comfortable to comment on fashion on a fashion blog. My comments say exactly what I think, and I write clearly and precisely about the subject, and lesbianism or gay matters have nothing to do here. I cannot conclude anything about who you are or what you stand for on the basis of your comments here, and the same goes for you regarding me and other posters. Something I am opposed to is bringing up gay, lesbian or transgender issues in connection with everything, as it is rubbish. Have a good day. :) - Ellie
