Queen Letizia attended the 75th anniversary event of United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) at CaixaForum in Madrid. During the event, the challenges for children in the post-COVID-19 era were addressed. Queen Letizia is Honorary President of UNICEF Spanish Committee. UNICEF celebrates its 75th anniversary on December 11, 2021. UNICEF works to ensure that all children, wherever they are, have a healthy life, go to school and be protected from violence and exploitation. Queen Letizia wore a new sweater by Hugo Boss.

I like this combination, but I wish the skirt was a little bit longer, I get the skater vibe on this one, the outfit seems a little unfinished. As usual her hair looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteCherry
I absolutely agree. A little longer and it would have been perfection!
Not sure about the boots...
ReplyDeleteI have never seen the Queen's outfit quite like this before.
ReplyDeleteI love the boots they are fabulous and the skirt perfect.
However the top has creases in it from the packaging, who ever prepares her clothes for her, should be shot.
There are creases across the front of the top just not good enough for the lovely Queen Letizia.
DeleteActually It is the 3rd time she has worn this outfit.
DeleteThis one is a no for me. I am just thinking summer flower print in the skirt.

In Spain we do not change the colours so much, there is lot of Sun.
DeleteJoyfull, light, surprising and lovely!

Agree with cherry, disagree with the comment about the wrinkles, I simply don't see them, I see the natural creases when a sweater is tucked in. Also I don't see this skirt necessarily as a dedicated spring print, actually my first reaction was more like, Christmas has arrived!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete@ Sandra. You are correct. This skirt has been worn the past two Decembers, and to a Red Cross event if memory serves. The shirt was worn with a black sweater.
DeleteA hip length collarless jacket would have balanced out the abundance of red. As always she looks great and gave an animated speech. One of her girls has also been seen with a similar skirt and tucked in sweater look. July
I love these boots! I was just wondering if we would be seeing them anytime soon. Yes, the skirt is too short with the boots. I think this could have worked with a thicker sweater, untucked, for those that are bothered by the print of the skirt being too summery. ~d
ReplyDeleteA big no. The skirt is too short for the boots and too summery. The sweater must be worn under a little jacket or a short blazer, not alone like this. The boots I don't know..... This combination doesn't work.
ReplyDeleteCarla
Hello teresa! :))
DeleteMAB
I like the skirt and agree with Sandra F that for me the pattern has Christmas vibes. A little longer would have improved it but I just don't like the boots with it. Not sure if I like the boots at any point--maybe with a black skirt? Overall a pleasant festive outfit imo
ReplyDeleteWhat a weird outfit. The skirt is the wrong shape for those boots and the print is horrid.
ReplyDeleteHilda
@Angie, once again you need to check yourself before you wreck yourself, your responses to any fashion critique about Queen Letizia , are aggressive and border in trolling. My comment above is respectful and fashion subjective, in other words just an opinion.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I admire Letizia’s style and beauty, I am not of the opinion that she is above a fashion faux pax ( which I don’t think is the case here anyway) . Please stop being disrespectful to perfectly reasonable people that may differ from you.
Regards
Cherry
Delete@Angie 21:43: Cherry is right, there isn't a moment when you can't resist telling the readers of this blog that they are wrong about fashion criticism of QL. Obviously QL is above all other royals for you when it comes to fashion and charity, but that's why I doubt your objectivity. I've noticed this many times and commented on your negativity when it comes to other readers' opinions, but you keep lecturing others when they criticize QL fashion choices and even pretend these criticisms are only on QL (which is definitely not the case because she is the most esteemed royal when it comes to fashion imo)

This ensemble is a surprising pleasure. My only quibble is the starkness of the sweater against the brightly colored skirt and boots. I think a necklace with a colorful pendant, or a colorful scarf would pull it all together. Otherwise, I think she looks divine.
Quelle classe Royale !
ReplyDelete@ Angie, really? You call your response to me reasonable and objective? No, stating that my comment is absurd is not respectful, challenging me to say that I dislike the skirt, ( which I don’t, just wish that it was a little bit longer) . I beg to differ with you, and your multiple attacks to many contributors precedes you. Generally I visit this blog for a little fun and to enjoy fashion, but your not very polite responses when anybody says anything about the Queen’s sartorial choices is just irritating.
ReplyDeleteCherry
@ Angie, perhaps you are too young to remember ice skating outfits, or you haven't been a fan, but yes, they used to wear flared skirts right above the knee . Also yes, your attacks to bloggers that dare to dislike any of Letizia's outfits, are completely out of place. You are dismissive, and aggressive and frankly very disagreeable.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn’t look good
ReplyDeleteShe needed a pendant necklace to distract from the dull turtleneck. The skirt and boots excellent.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit definitely has a Christmas vibe, the boots look fabulous, gives the outfit a edgy look, love. it.
ReplyDelete@Angie I do think you take exception with every comment that is not absolutely positive about Letizia. I understand being loyal and proud of your queen, but you should understand that opinions vary. We need to accept the good with the bad. Personally, it is more difficult for me to ignore mean things that are said due to personal biases, but Letizia is not one of the royals that is attacked. I don't think she needs a cheerleader. As an example of what I am talking about, I don't see wrinkles, but I see the fold lines in her sweater. @Sharni said, "...the top has creases in it from the packaging..." Maybe the translator you use translates 'creases' to 'wrinkles', but they are different, at least to me. (As an aside, you also decided to correct Sharni as to the fact that the "top" was a "sweater". That was petty. I understood what she was saying, both about which garment she was referring to and the problem she noticed.) She never implied that Letizia looked like a slob, just that this brand new sweater needed to be steamed. Your response seems too aggressive for what was said. Less than favorable critiques of Letizia do not reflect on you until you argue with each of them. ~d
ReplyDeleteAngie you seem to have an obsession with Q.Letizia. Take a grip.
ReplyDelete😂😂
ReplyDeleteSomehow I've the feeling the ensemble with the red boots QL's wearing would work better for me if the turtleneck would have been black or in case of the white turtleneck the boots replaced by a pair of black heels
ReplyDeleteMCS
@Angie: Please calm down. A skater vibe simply means that the skirt is fit and flare and a tad short. Your frustration at the constant critiques of the Queen is understandable, but it is the Spanish media that has treated her the worst. The comments section under some articles attract the worst tr*lls.
ReplyDeleteThe international media has always recognized her elegance and innate ability to make off the rack clothing look fantastic, and have not been judgmental about her beauty regimen or exercise routine as all women who have to be camera ready as part of their jobs do the same things.
