On December 15, 2021, Queen Elizabeth II received the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq al Said, and his wife Sayyida Ahad Bint Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Busaidiyah, at Windsor Castle. The Sultan of Oman visited The Prince of Wales, following his meeting with the Queen. Sultan Haitham bin Tariq is a former culture and heritage minister who studied at Oxford. He became the King last year after the death of his cousin Sultan Qaboos who was the Arab world's longest-serving ruler.
ReplyDeleteIts heartbreaking to see how fragile QEII suddenly looks.
ReplyDeleteShe seem to have lost weight, look how the dress is hanging on her.
Its been difficult year. At times like this I really dislike H&M and their "publicity".
But QEII smile is still warm and style effortless. She's still going on with her duties. Good for her!

Why must you bring other people into this thread? Is not relevant or germane to the situation. I am sure that the queen can overcome the decision of her grandson, stepping away and it doesn’t even compare to many other family issues that she has had to deal with over the years, and still does ( Andrew, Charles corrupt deals with foreign governments, etc.,) yes, she is fragile, because she is 95 years old, and she looks way better than most people that age. H & M seem to live rent free in your head. Ridiculous!!!!!

I agree with you Karin, except I don't dislike H and M at this time only. I dislike them all the time.

Hard to make a comment on dress and jewelry.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little shocked that it is not only virtual meetings
with the Queen at Windsor during the corona pandemic and its restrictions.
She looks lovely, but so fragile. / LL
The Queen is so fragile. I do not understand that nobody put a mask on now with the omicron variant of the virus. Even with a booster vaccination one cannot be careful enough.
ReplyDeleteQEII looks beautiful. The pale blue dress with the pearl necklace, and pearl, diamond and sapphire brooch are pretty, and her hair is nicely coiffed. Yes, she appears to have lost weight, not uncommon for someone of her age. I wonder why her clothes have not been altered to fit her. I hope she has a Happy Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI am really afraid of the day when there will be a corresponding breaking news, because the Queen has somehow been part of my life for decades. It feels like she has always been there. But after her husband's death, we more or less expected a certain physical and mental decline. It's not easy to cope with that. Her clothes are hanging down a lot at the moment, her dressmaker has to take action here, these hanging clothes increase the fragility even more. Frieda
ReplyDeleteThe Queen looks beautiful, she looks very engaging and happy. The dress, pearl necklace, pearl earrings and divine, sapphire and diamond, and pearl brooch, look wonderful. That brooch is one of my favorite's, its a stunning piece.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the Queen's dresser did not do the Queen any favors with today's attire. Obviously, the dress was too large and emphasized the Queen's fragile status.
ReplyDeleteA more colorful dress would have helped to negate the Queen's pale complexion and a more fitted style , possibly adding a belt would have been more appropriate. This is so obvious, that it begs the question, perhaps this is the public image the palace wants to display for the Queen. What a shame.
However, the Queen's smile was still intact.
I too was taken by the fragile appearance of the Queen. She really has lost weight which is not uncommon for her age but it is a bit shocking to see the decline over the past year.
ReplyDeleteShe looks fabulous for 95. Im sure such trivial foolishness from Harry and Meghan doesn't faze her. In her long reign she has endured everything, and overcame all of it.
ReplyDeleteWhile it is good to see the Queen here, and she looks beautiful, it is sad to see her look so frail. However, the textured icy blue dress looks good on her, just too large, highlighting her frailty. The Sultan's wife is quite beautiful, I like the purple accents on her outfit.

Well said Ava.
ReplyDeleteShe has the most beautiful smile.
She is a very strong woman, but to me she is disappearing before our eyes.
Her family have not made her life easy these last couple of years.
She has carried out her duties so beautifully over the years.
Es tut weh zu sehen, dass die Queen seit April so extrem körperlich um Jahre gealtert ist. Ihr strahlendes Lächeln kann da leider nicht darüber hinweg täuschen. Lange lebe die Königin.
ReplyDeleteThe Sultan and the Sultana good to see them out and about. Her Majesty looks lovely; always out there for everybody else, such a gracious lady.(Tara)
ReplyDeleteAnonymous @ 01:42.... your comment is rude " American I presume" .... why?
ReplyDeletePeople of every nation read papers, not only the trash tabloids, but reputable publications. The fact that some of you are fixated with H & M is moronic. The commenter above was simply pointing out that her majesty and the firm have more serious issues to worry about than the "Megxit" , specially taking into account that prince Charles could be king any day . Should I end with English I presume? after all you made H& M life miserable.
