On December 14, 2021, Hereditary Princess Stephanie visited the exhibition "Immersion" at the Am Tunnel in Luxemburg. The "Immersion" painting exhibition shows a hundred works by artist Gilliane Warzée around her favorite subjects of femininity, the world of music and Luxembourg. Around 100 paintings are on display, covering the 250 metres of the "Am tunnel" gallery, the capital's contemporary art centre, located 15 metres underground.

ReplyDeleteShe seems a lovely and friendly lady and mother , but is in my opinion not very interested in fashion. Trousers with a blouse that is her regular "uniform"
ReplyDeleteOh, no! The pants and ponytail are back. I wish she would try harder. When she makes an effort she can look so lovely.

Princess Stephanie always radiates such warmth and kindness.
ReplyDeleteShe has no style. I don't rate her personality, I rate her fashion because this is a fashion blog. Her outfits are a demonstration of how NOT to do it. This black pants are bad on her. She is dressed lieke a woman who after all day in her job must to go to supermarket to buy something for dinner and accidently nonplanned visit a gallery on her road. PS: Another art exhibition? I have the impression that she is an art businesswoman. Events of a different kind are very rare for princess Stephanie.
ReplyDeleteStephanie (Yes , I have the same name)
May be she shows no style, but she definitively has class, and that outshines her often mediocre way of clothing.
DeleteThe upper half is nearly always good, it is the eternal black pair of trousers that make a bit sad.
On the kind of interest: she did an academic study on history of art, so she visits lot of art exhibitions; but I think you forgot the visits to homes of elderly people and on charitable institution where she was with husband and son?
Josh
Nicely written, Josh. I must agree, she is a class act, and that is what style is all about.

Agree with Josh and Bepa!
DeleteBetter to be interested in art than in fashion -- if you have to choose. And, naturally, one can also be interested in fashion as art.

J'adore cette Princesse mais... qui pourrait lui mettre à la poubelle ses immondes pantalons noirs informes qu'elle nous ressort chaque hiver !
ReplyDeleteThe portraits of Duke Henri and Guillaume are fabulous! I agree that Stephanie does not put much importance on fashion. Because all of us know that, it will be so much more special when an occasion arises that she dresses for the occasion. In the meantime, we are left with her pretty face and radiant smile.
ReplyDeleteThat blouse looks like something you could buy in Kohls (a low to mid -level department store for those not from the USA).
ReplyDeleteSimply awful!! She looks so frumpy next to lovely looking museum woman. I wish Claire would represent Luxemburg instead of Stephanie.
ReplyDeleteNo. Claire, whose own wardrobe and appearance is nothing to drool over lately, definitely does not need to replace Stephanie as Hereditary Grand Duchess. Frankly the very idea is absurd.
DeleteWhat a harsh comment.
DeleteIt is clear that Stephanie chooses black because it slims.
It's stressful to be royal princesses
today, if you are not a look alike model type !

This girl needs help. With all the money they have she could invest in a personal stylist, hair dresser & make up artist. One can wear all the designer high end clothes they want, but without the aid of a stylist clothes do nothing for her. I know this all sounds harsh, sorry. On this occasion Stephanie looks boring & frumpy. Mary
ReplyDeleteOh my what ever... I hope one day she understands, she represends her country and the people of her country..
ReplyDeleteAnd she represents them nicely and intelligently, so no need to worry.
Delete-B.
Her class & smile & glow is more that most other representer of countries show.... I really hope that no make up artist will ever get a change to change her naturel. Claire is sweet but not playing in Stefanie's class.... by the way don't like Clair's cloth at all.
ReplyDeleteI saw the first photos and thought it was a dress--lovely colour, which suits the princess and then i saw the full length shots. As others have said, the outfit looks frumpy. It's like something a woman 30 years older than her might wear on a day when they really didn't need to make an effort. Although I don't always liek Maria Theresa's outfits, she is certainly far more stylish and youthful in appearance.
ReplyDeleteShe looks lovely, and I like the purple and black combination. Perhaps she just wants to be comfortable and dress like everyday people. I see nothing wrong at all.
ReplyDeleteI give up. Barring some miracle or the citizens of the Grand Duchy rising up to demand that their princess take an interest in her appearance, this lovely and accomplished young woman will continue to be the frumpiest princess in Royal Europe. What a waste.
ReplyDeleteI would love to introduce her to a structured blazer. It would transform this outfit!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Josh. A good wardrobe does not equal class or good breeding, which the HGD possesses in spades. But this is a fashion blog and in the Royal Europe of the 21st century, visuals and clothes matter. A lot. It is what it is, and for the sake of national pride if nothing else, Stephanie needs to commit to a makeover.
ReplyDeleteBut, one could also ask, are we as 21st century citizens of the world on the right track if focus on visuals and appearances? I think not. And besides, I don't find anything wrong with her clothes. They are nice and clean, she has a colourful purple shirt and black pants. What is wrong with those? Would they be more acceptable if they were worn by an unhealthily skinny royal female? And if so, then it seems that the problem for many of those who complain about the fashion might be her body type, not so much her clothes. It's ok to talk about fashion but I just hope that people would be more gentle and kind with their words. And that they would try to think beyond pure fashion, which as such is fleeting and shallow.

The purple is a lovely color on her. For whatever she lacks in fashion, she makes up for in class and grace. Her engagements are fantastic, visiting the nursing homes and such. She has stepped up her fashion since she had the baby. This isn't a bad look, just down to business.

Oh my...I do believe that Stephanie does not seem concerned about fashion and that's OK for anyone who is not in a public role. However, she is in a public role and this appearance is part of her public persona, HRH Princess Stephanie of Luxembourg. If she wishes to dress in simple styles there are plenty of ways to do that which involve style and elegance, both of which are lacking here. Yes, she is lovely, has an engaging personality, and a deep interest in the arts--all of these are comendable and perfect for her public role. Now if only she would understand her personal presentation is also part of her public role. Look at Princess Anne--she is not at all interested in fashion and much prefers her country casual attire but when she is at work she dresses the part. OK--she grew up as a royal. So, what about Camilla? Camilla too prefers her country casuals but understands her public appearance is part of being the Duchess of Cornwall. Yes, I know Anne and Camilla are old enough to be Stephanie's mother but other contemporary royal ladies understand the presentation part of their roles.
ReplyDeleteCamilla and Princess Ann ??? Not exactly examples of good fashion. Even when they have public appearances, I do not like their fashion choices. Perhaps their style is appreciated in the U.K. but in the rest of Europe people have other ideas about style and fashion.
DeleteSimply the worst dressed woman in the grand duchy. The undercurrents at the Cour GD are very strange indeed. If anyone thinks that she has chosen to only do arts visit, obviously misses that she for sure have been given this task - and nothing else. It has nothing to do with her interests or focus, whilst the grand duchess herself supports all charities and champions women’s rights. I see the total lack of fashion like a cry for help, much like an anorectic. Sorry for anyone being upset about the comparison, but it’s the only plausible explanation to why an accomplished pretty young woman with seemingly unlimited resources continue to look like a woman without style or interest in her looks.
ReplyDeleteMikey, you see "lack of fashion like a cry for help, much like an anorectic"? Really?
DeleteWhat an utterly stupid comment. ~d
Delete@ Mikey. Your the one who is sick.
DeleteStephanie looks happy and engaging interested in her visit. The colour of her blouse suits her beautifully.
ReplyDeleteCan someone buy her a skirt?
ReplyDeleteHaving read the comments this morning - and remembering that similar comments appear regularly concerning hereditary grand duchess Stephanie - I'd like to suggest that no more photos of her is published on this site. It probably would make most commentators really happy.
ReplyDeleteMargot
IF we start an exclusion list, she should not be the only one concerned ! We have already read about that as well ! A dangerous path...
DeleteI think it is more a question of accepting people as they are. Everyone is free to skip articles which they prefer to ignore. I do skip some in silence, as well as I skip some commentators.
If you do not want more photos of her are published on this site, I can suggest a couple of other princesses, duchesses, ... to exclude from the list too. Like I said before it all depends about which princess or duchess we are talking........etc.......
Delete@ Mickey322, you win the internet today for the most insensitive and senseless comment. She is not a fashion icon, but I suppose that every woman that isn’t is crying for help? The comparison between a plain clothing style and an illness like anorexia is ignorant, full stop. I seem to remember your comments about QL while she visited Sweden…. Are you trying to be the official troll of this lovely site, or is it your own “cry for help and attention?

Okay, here's the thing for me; so okay, she's not into fashion. Fine. Not everybody is. However, part of your "job" as a royal is to turn up presentable and, if not polished, at least "finished." The clothes she has on here are perfectly fine for the occasion and function of this engagement ***but*** they are not fitting properly. Clearly the blouse is too big/not tailored to her measurements and I suspect the same for the pants! And it's not like she doesn't have the finances and resources to make this happen! Someone in another post the other day basicly said that if she's not into it (which she clearly isn't) hire someone who is. Find a stylist that can accomidate her need for simplicity and comfort but at the same time can make sure her clothes are tailored/coordinated/appropriate for the function and accessorized.
ReplyDeleteHere she looks as if someone woke her up and said, "Hey, you know you have that engagement today. Are you still going?" To which she said, "Oh! I completely forgot! Let me throw something on and I'll be right down to the car!" :-/
the colour of the blouse is really nice. It matches good with black trousers, but this wide trousers do nothing for her. Trousers with much tighter legs would be much better.
