On December 23, the Danish Royal Palace released new Christmas photos of Prince Joachim and his family. The photos show Prince Joachim, Princess Marie, Prince Henrik, Princess Athena and their dog Cerise. The caption was "Merry Christmas from Prince Joachim, Princess Marie, Prince Henrik and Princess Athena". Princess Marie wore a new reversible roll-neck poncho by Hugo Boss. Princess Athena wore a new cashmere sweater by Jacadi.

    Quel plaisir de les voir momentanément de retour au pays - Très jolie cette couleur lie-de-vin tant sur Marie que sur Henrik ; toujours aussi mignonne Athéna dans ce nouveau pull en cachemire de Jacadi ; le prince Joachim nous aurait t-il agréablement surpris dans sa tenue sobre ? Vraiment adorable le toutou qui me semble être un caniche mais je n'en suis pas certaine ?! Magnifique sapin très joliment décoré !

      Le toutou est un bichon frisé d'origine danoise qui s'appelle Cerise.
      J'aime beaucoup ces photos ; elles sont récentes, dans un décor de Noël et en toute simplicité. Une bien jolie famille !

      Doesn't It? This may sound odd but, I think its wonderful because it just looks like a normal family Christmas tree! Often, especially with public figures who are posing for a photo, the trees look too perfect. Too staged. Too official. This is just a really nice family Christmas shot.

      .. they spend X- mas with mom Alexandra this year .
      Last year with Joachim.
